It can be at any time, but i’m talking about when you were young. Like, nothing but a wee little tyke. I used to play Mortal Kombat with my dad back when I was in maybe kindergarten, and I didn’t really know what I was doing but this set the stage for me to become a huge gamer. My mother used to take me to the laundromat and would blow ten bucks in quarters playing the arcade Ninja Turtles game with me. I have fond memories of gaming with my parents.
My mom taught me how to Hadouken, and she taught me Fatalities in Mortal Kombat.
looking back on it, if I had my mindset like I do now as a kid, getting beat by my mom would be embarrassing. lol
She tried to show me how to play Tekken but I wasn’t really feeling that game when it was out. Shit I don’t like it now. but it was still good times
I used to go to the local arcade with my Dad constantly. He was the first person to finish the UMK3 ladder, the store clerk like flipped her shit and there was big ass crowd gathered around him as his godlike Rain dismantled Shao Kahn. Great times, haha. This lead into me getting UMK3 on Sega and play him constantly along with the rest of our family.
I dont really remember it but my bitch ass mom would take me to the arcade when I was like 3 or so. She says I would never even finish my game before I wanted to move on to the next. Not much has changed about my gaming habits.
I play games with my kids. Me and The Oldest Daughter (13) will play Zombies in Call of Duty Whatever. I dont really like the game but its fun to play it with the kid. We also play L4D2 together.
My son (4) plays some fighting games with me on the rare occasion that I turn one on. He doesnt know what he’s up to so I just instruct him to spin the stick and mash the buttons. He also likes to play Burnout Paradise. He just goes in circles. He was playing Dustforce for a while there and he got pretty good at that game. Out of the 3 levels I put him on he could make it through 2 of them.
I know that dude Rcaido plays games with his kids. Man, that dude basically has an arcade in his house.
My dad got me into the fifa games , now and again we all play wii bowling
I think what I will do as a means of Parenting would be as follows.
My Daughter: Can I go to the mall with chicken head A and B?
Me: If you can do Son Son’s sentinel infinite then you can go to the mall and I’ll give you spending money.
Me, my dad and my brother used to play a lot of N64 together. The game we played the most was probably Smash Bros. My dad would beat us so bad in that game sometimes that my brother and I would literally cry. Dem elementary school ragequits lol
used to play alpha 2 with my mom but she quit after i figured out to hadouken on command lol. we used to play tetris together…but she got addicted to that shit. legit id wake up at 7 or 8 am on sundays and she’s have been playing tetris for like 2 hours.
This…is a nice thread.
Anyways when I was around 13 and stayed with my dad in PA we would always play 3rd Strike. I joked and told him since he was so old he had to play Oro and he was the person who introduced me to Dudley. Good times.
I played a lot of Sonic and Mario with my Mom. Favorite for her was probably Sonic Pinball on Sega. She was a rage quitter though. She threw my gameboy at me one time when she couldn’t beat some stage on a Yoshi game.
My dad’s like 1st generation videogame nerd. We used to tag-team ocarina of time and Mario N64 back in the day. We used to always play Myst and Mech Warrior on PC too. He used to whoop me in anything multi-player related, but now he’s free as fuck to me.
When I was younger I went to the arcade around 4-6 times a week with my Mother. that’s right my mother. Whenever we did go, we’ll always be playing the shooters or the fighters, mostly the shooters since she’s better at that than me. Once my little girl is old enough to hold a fake laser gun to shoot at the bad guys, I’ll be following the same ‘Tradition’ my mum did with me with my little girl.
My dad can school me in older games like Pac-Man and Galaga.
damn all you mofoz is like 12 …time for me to grow up n get the fuck out here
I was probably 6 or 7 my dad and I played Street Fighter 2 on the SNES. I was Ryu and he was Ken.
My mother has finished more difficulties in the Uncharted series then I have…
I play Golf games with my dad when I visit, like Hot Shots Golf an shit. I wanna get that good Wii Tiger woods golf gme…I think it was 09. That shit was fun when i played at a friends house, I think my father would really dig it.
I remember always playing a game called Kid Clown on SNES with my mum, and battle toads as well, Kid Clown was so difficult as far as I can remember
Played sports games with my dad on the Genesis, Saturn and Dreamcast. He beat me, my cousins and my friends 98% of the time because he played sports in his youth.
Back on the original playstation me and my dad used to play Tekken a lot, Though I can’t remember if it was Tekken 2 or 3. I still remember not knowing how to read the command list, but I always played as King because I thought he was cool. when I was around 8 I called him “King Cat”. We also used to play a fuck ton of the original two Gran Turismo games. I still remember when I got a car to over 1000 horsepower and it reset the horsepower display and my dad was like “The fuck did you just do?”. These games don’t sound very old school compared to the rest of you but remember I was born in 94’ and the very first game I owned myself was a CD port of Frogger. Never did beat that fucking game >:(
Madden2k on the Ps2. My dad got it for his b-day and we played the shit out of it. TITANS ALL FUCKING DAY! (back when they were good and I gave a shit about football)
