Any Volunteers For My Lab Experiments? Albert Wesker's Team Thread

It is pretty solid, did a bit of work with the two and the synergy is definitely there.

i want to run a team with wesker 2nd and mageneto 3rd. Wesker lvl 2 with beam assist works much better for me. Need a point character that does well with otg assist and mags beam. Was thinking spencer or captain america since they both do good damage by themselves.

I’m running Dormammu on point with those two (for test run). Disruptor + Mass Change M/H = very ambiguous cross-ups. Plus, Wesker really helps extend combos for Dormammu. You can do an 800k+ combo with Wesker’s assist and 830k+ if you use beam to crossup and relaunch with OTG gun.

I originally had Doom as the anchor, then switched to Hawkeye. Felt like giving Magneto a try, since he seems to have an easier time in opening up someone than Doom or Hawkeye.

Dorm is already a beast, but Wesker and Magneto make him into a meter-building beast.

Just be careful though, since Hawkeye is an ok anchor and Triple Arrows can be ducked under by certain characters.

Wesker is great, but he’s not broken. Be careful when you go against a good Zero or Trish. A good Trish makes life hell for Wesker because he can’t do much against her aerial game. As a Wesker user, I also hate going against Zero because of his crazy fast normals.

Wesker works as an anchor on pretty much any team.

I’ve been running Wesker on point recently. What I’ve really been looking for is a 2nd character who has an assist that allows me to relaunch after Samurai Edge and allows for DHC. Spencer with diagonal grapple works, but the timing to DHC after Phantom Dance seems a little strict for my level. I was also using Iron Fist with Crescent Heel assist, but DHCing there was even tougher. Any suggestions?

So I’ve been running Dante/Akuma/Strider for a while, but I’ve never learned anything for Akuma outside of mission mode stuff, most of the BnBs I’ve seen for him seem a bit too tricky for my tastes (Yet I’m able to play Dante decently, go figure). I picked up Wesker to replace Akuma in that lineup today and he felt pretty comfortable. Question is, how does he fare with this team? I have Dante with Jam Session and Strider with Vajra. Dante’s Jam Session helps me set up Strider’s Ragnarok, meanwhile, Strider’s Vajra gives Dante good mixup potential.

Any tips? What should the order be and would those assists work well?

You’d probably want Dante on point with Vajra as an assist to control the air and Wesker’s gun OTG. That’s a very powerful rush-down/mix-up team (you’ve picked 3 S-tier characters) but the biggest issue you’ll have is that you’ll get completely opened up if you drop a combo or get bounced. You’re going to need to be careful with tags.

That sounds good. Never knew Strider was S-tier however lol, I figured his low health and low damage output would put him in a lower tier.

My main problem with this lineup is which order I should be using. I know for sure I want Dante as my point character since he builds good meter and he’s my best character so I’d like to fully utilize him while my other teammates are still alive. When I was running Dante/Akuma/Strider, I always had Strider as my anchor because a lv3 Strider with Orobouros makes for some nice comebacks. Most teams I see with Wesker tend to have him as anchor with lv3 X-Factor in reserve. So question is: who is more worthwhile to have as anchor? Strider or Wesker?

Also, I didn’t mean to tier whore. I’ve always been a Dante player, and Strider was on my “must use” list the moment he was revealed. I just never was able to get a third for that team that I was comfortable with lol.

Definitely Strider as anchor. It’s easier to block and predict a XF3 Dark Wesker (if you know his teleport ranges) than a XF3 Strider with Ouroboros activated.

wesker/vergil/zero or wesker/dante/zero?any suggestion team mate for wesker/zero?

Wesker/Zero needs a beam/horizontal assit Dante could work with weasel shot. I would consider Magneto/DrDoom/Hawkeye/Taskmaster instead though. I was running Zero/Wesker/Taskmaster for a while but i decided to take Zero out i just dont like the synergy between them.

Right now im probably going to end up running Wesker/Vergil/Taskmaster i just need to figure the optimal vergil spiral sword combo to dhc in.

magneto (electro magnetic disruptor) dante (jam session/weasel shot) & wesker (gun assist) why not play those characters i mean their all pretty beast magneto has a learning curve he is pretty tuff 2 use but its a really good pay out character dante because he has tons of options to get in on his opponents & he can be played anyway lastly wesker simply because he’s wesker the best character in the game

They weren’t kidding when they said Wesker is easy to use lol. I picked him up about 2 weeks ago and I’m pretty confident that I can use him fairly well. Dante/Wesker/Strider w/ Jam Session/Samurai Edge/Vajra works pretty well. Now if only I can get Dante’s BnBs down. Those darn teleport cancels are getting on my last nerves.

This was my vanilla team. It was just good because of DHC glitch, and disruptor was easier to juggle Dante/Wesker’s teleports. Now the beam/tele game doesn’t work so well and the glitch is gone. This team basically lacks strong assist setups and your practically playing 3 solo characters, which was okay before they were nerfed.

I’ve trying to find an ideal point for my xxx hawkeye doom(missiles), and have narrowed it down to Wesker and Morrigan (and will probably play both, honestly). I did see above the talk of Plasma Beam being good for Wesk, and I know this to be true, but this is a dedicated missiles strategy, and they aren’t exactly BAD for Wesker. My question is if you guys have any specific ranged sequences that can either guarantee a safe Doom call, or something close. Or even just any fun tactics you like to employ with missiles-Wesker, whether for runaway or rushdown, since I plan to do plenty of both.

Also, rather than ask a question and run, I’ll also give a nice bit of missiles-Wesker tech that a much stronger player than I told me. This may be old news to some, or a sweet new trick to others: If the opponent blocks missiles while in the air, when they land from it, they will immediately leave block stun upon hitting the ground. And since Wesk’s command grab is 1 frame, it means you can pop a lot of fast command grabs in this situation. It’s quite beautiful.

Can any of you regular Wesker users give me some suggestions on who to fill the second spot on a Wesker/???/Sentinel team. I don’t really want to use Doom, Dante, Vergil, or Iron Man despite the benefits they can bring as they don’t appeal to me gameplay wise. I’ve been trying out Nova and he seems good, but something feels off. He can actually create slightly more damaging combos with magic series relaunch+assist than the real BnB (but that’s minor) and has fantastic THC synergy. His assist doesn’t feel like it adds much in the neutral game though since it doesn’t seem fast enough to create the unblockable situations it clearly could. While the ground bounce if it hits air to air is a nice premise the angle makes it a rarely an option in actual matches (For me at least). A lot of my team searching problems could be solved by tossing Wesker on the back and/or simply getting rid of Sentinel but I actually like playing these characters and know it can (obviously) work. Open to and appreciate any suggestions outside of the 4 characters I listed, thanks.

Have you thought about Strider or perhaps Dormammu? Though in Strider’s case, he probably should be the anchor.

Strider I never really thought of because as you said he’s probably best at anchor. Dormammu…eh despite thinking he’s a really good character I’m not sure, but what assist would even work with him? I’ve also thought about maybe trying Ammy, but haven’t really played around with her yet.
