Wesker Strider Doom I think is a pretty solid team I run that team wesker is a really good character to build meter with & he has good resets as well as good combos & builds meter really fast & he works with pretty much anybody honestly another team i think he would do good with would have to be him ghost rider & nemesis or him nova & ghostrider
Have you guys tried Nemesis Beta assist. This is pretty much Haggar assist all over again. If you reset the opponent in the corner, no matter where they tech in the air they have to either block or get hit by the assist from a df+:h:+ Nemesis Assist reset. You can mixup the teleport and the usual reset options. I believe Nemesis has 1 hit of armor, so a sort of invincible assist.
You can even make the assist whiff if you change the timing of the df+:h: shot.
Plus, it’s a ground bounce which is what Wesker is lacking in his combos. Makes for an easy lvl3.
whoever is using wesker strider needs to be experimenting resets with strider (Y) assist, (especially in the corner) , falling S off air combo, otg gunshot + strider (Y) assist , when they reset and they expect airthrow from wesker and tried to tech … strider assist will hit for hard knockdown which is of course free combo … if they dont tech …u get a free airthrow … i havent tested the possibilites of getting out of this setup … but seems pretty hard to get out of… if someone has already posted this i apologize… i will try to make a vid soon if not
I’m currently running Vergil (Judgement Cut)/Wesker (Samurai Edge)/Doctor Strange (Bolts of Balthakk).
Bolts of Balthakk is fantastic for locking your opponent in place for teleport mixups with Vergil/Wesker. Also good for extending combos.
My general strategy for now is to wreck shit with Vergil and utilize teleport mixups with Vergil/Strange to build a couple of meters, then combo into a DHC to Wesker to get Wesker’s G-Factor*. From that point on, I usually don’t need to use much meter, as all my Wesker combos lead to easy resets and do around 600-700k. I’ll generally save the meter for if/when Wesker dies, since Vergil and Stephen are meter hogs. I usually won’t burn X-Factor unless I’m going to finish off the opponent. I save it for Stephen, along with some meter. I honestly think XF3 Stephen with meter is the best anchor in the game. If your opponent presses anything, they lose 600k. Not to mention dagger spam.
Overall, I’m pretty happy with this team. Strange is working out a lot better for me than Nova was.

How do you guys feel about wesker/strider/phoenix, pick your poison, ouroburos or dark phoenix
Any other Wesker/Spencer users running into an annoying quirk/bug when trying to extend combos in the corner? I never had this happen once in vanilla, but it’s been happening maybe 20-30% of the time in Ultimate. I use spencer slant grapple assist to extend Wesker’s combos, and I’ve noticed that after the initial air series, if the opponent gets slammed down into the corner, and I go to otg gun into spencer grapple assist to set up another air series, a lot of times the grapple will just flat out miss the character even though they should be getting hit directly by it, and always did in vanilla. It sucks because they flip out and are usually in a good position to counter combo me due to the lucky break. Doesn’t seem to be opponent size dependent either, as it’s been happening sort of randomly to all different sized characters. So annoying.
What happens as far as I can tell is that when you jump up-forward for magic series, you land and spencer gets called too far forward against characters that don’t have a large enough hitbox to push Wesker out, I’ve found the best success fixing it by always jumping straight up instead of up-forward while in the corner.
Dashing backwards before you gunshot might also fix the spencer assist issue. I know it’s that way for Dorm’s dark hole assist and gunshot.
Does anyone think Wesker/Vergil/Iron Man work?
Wesker builds up meter for Vergil’s mixups and super awesome Dhc’s. Iron man is helping with his unibeam assist and is my anchor
I use this team online, and it works, but it’s work in progress in terms of not dropping combos and not getting happy birrthdayed, still works though

That sounds really similar with my team of Wesker/Vergil/Doom.
Wesker builds meter for Vergil and Doom’s Plasma Beam helps with Wesker’s Combos and both his and Vergil’s of their teleport mixups. Doom’s my anchor because i find he can easily handle himself with his self-relaunch combos and projectiles.
That makes sense, I guess I’ll have to train myself to do that. What an annoying quirk that vanilla didn’t have though.
similar to my team also but i use Wesker/Akuma/Taskmaster. I build meter with Wesker for Akuma, bc Akuma with meter is pretty damn scary, and I like Task’s projectile the best since it just causes hitstun and not a knockdown to easily hit-confirm off of while helping both Wesker and Akuma with teleport mixups. Plus Akuma’s tatsu is still a really good assist as it eats projectiles and keeps the opponent locked down for a long time. Task as anchor got much better in umvc with his new swing-cancel mixups and his new stinger move keeps his charging star safe.
Ryu with Tatsu assist in Denjin mode + 3H into Crossover Combination = way too much damage.
You can have Ryu on point so once he lands a hit, you add Denjin mode and go for an aerial exchange(into Wesker) in one combo. If you happen to have two meters after the 3H, it’s a free 1 mil+.
My Wesker team is currently Wesker/Akuma/Vergil, but I’m not too good with Vergil as I haven’t gotten time to really practice him.
Would there be better synergy with Vergil, or would I want to go with Dante for this team? I’m down to one of the two, I just need to figure out which would have superior team synergy.
Assists currently are Low gunshot for Wesker, Tatsu for Akuma, and Judgment Cut for Vergil.
Weasel shot is amazing for Wesker. The range on that assist is deceptively long, if you space it right, you can get crossups with his L teleport.
Im running Wesker/Nova/Hawkeye atm. A beam type assist greatly benefits wesker, and having nova’s overhead assist for corner mixups is just plain dirty
Im lookin to run wesker with some combination of vergil doom and hulk. Any recommendations on which characters and assists work well together?
I definitely enjoy the Wesker/Doom combination with either beam or missile assists. Missiles work well for annoyance and disruption, but I like the beam assist for teleportation mix-ups. I believe Vergil is quite good with an OTG assist, so you could go Vergil/Wesker (OTG)/Doom (beam) if your Doom is competent. I know mine’s not.
Recently I’ve been using a Wesker (OTG)/ Frank West (Shopping Cart)/ Spencer (Slant shot). The Spencer assist is great for extending combos after an OTG with either Wesker or Frank. I can even take a simple Wesker combo, extend it with the assist, and then air exchange into Frank to level him from 1 to 3. If I go into Survival Techniques after the camera, it does about 689.5k at the cost of a meter.
Man, if only Frank’s shopping cart assist got better with each level…
Vergil Wesker Strider… this team is stupid, enough said
If you run a Team with vergil on it, Have wesker behind Vergil so you get the benefits of the OTG assist that Wesker gives you
You can really run it either way.
Wesker builds decent bar, Vergil can spend the bar in a herp-derp or effecient manner.
