LBR, you don’t have to MM him. Just play first to 5 and we’ll see if anyone wants to make side bets. We’ll probably be going to the ranbats this season.
Edma also doesn’t like 3rd strike and never really got good at it past a certain point. How can you not think that Chun’s SAII is the most skill less super?
To me it always seems like mm have to carry some kinda animosity and other shit like that. Which is why I don’t really care for that sort of thing anymore.
The reason why I think denjin is so simple is cuz you can do whatever the fuck you want. But like anything you need skill to win.
you must be retarded since have the stuff you just said is absolutely hilarious coming from you, well the first part is funny and the 2nd part omg…honestly??? you’re playing on pad all the time on ggpo and say that “you need to learn how to rotate the stick precisely”??
im sorry but i just dont see why you think you know all there is to know about anything just based off of vids and playing online but wait im sorry again cuz you know everything cuz you dont travel to play “video games”
Denjin is not nearly as complicated as some may seem. There may be some setups for it, but it overall boils down to either “can they parry it?” or “can they Super through it?”. You do have to be good with Ryu to be able to use it well obviously, but the Super itself is 10% execution and 90% opponent’s reaction.
im pretty sure what i said is correct. what does playing on a pad have to do with my second statement? most people play on stick so its generalizing how you need to rotate to maximize 5 hits. and you do know rotating on directional buttons and on a stick is practically the same thing right?
how does playing offline or traveling to tourneys make my knowledge of denjin ryu better? can you explain how they correlate?
He’s saying that a lot of what you’re saying is based more on what you saw and theory than actual experience against competent players, I guess.
Playing offline and traveling to tourneys do make your knowledge of any character better, because you can put all these theories and practices to the test. It’s simple to say “this is good because of this” but somebody WILL manage to counter your statement and either shut it down or make it less effective.
A lot of people will say that online play doesn’t count, including myself, because you develop different tactics and strategies based on lag. Every useful information and strategy regarding 3S has been from offline play and tourney experience, and when a chunk of that stuff isn’t viable because of a random factor like lag, then it’s just not worth putting into consideration.
When I finally make it to Japan, I’m calling Aku to learn from and spar with him and soak up all the 3s I can lol
Which is what you could have done at NEC denjizz. It’s time to start going to tourneys. Winter Brawl is in February. no matter how you perform in the tourney just be there. Nica/mutant XP/Flare are willing to help anyone improve which is something that needs to be taken advantage of now.
All of my bad habits were put on blast this weekend. I’d still be stuck in the stone age if I didnt have Nica to spar with.
seriously though dude…come out to offline gatherings. It’ll even change how u post on SRK!!! lol
I plan on visiting my friend/roommate from college in Japan sometime next summerish. He’s in western Shinjuku or back home in nagaoka/niigata. So I’ll probably be in shinjuku bumming on his couch. Who from SRK is in Japan in the tokyo area? Fukuoka would be awesome to go see but I don’t know how long i’ll be there for. I’m still working on my Japanese in preparation. Heisig is lovely
wow, how come so many people on SRK cant read?
theres a saying that if some people doesnt comprehend what someone is trying to say, chances are its the writer’s inability to articulate well… but im pretty sure what i wrote is easy to understand. perhaps you should re-read before assuming just like thyallmighty?
and no i havent heard about FM. he only has 2-3 videos on YT. have you heard about old man OG Ryu? i doubt you have too.
I cant play on their h2h cabs so I didnt attend NEC plus other time constrictions. I only have 1-2 free days in the week and NEC was h2h cabs which i cant play on.
would you guys travel hours to play on console on xbox/ps2 controllers? i doubt people will show up. its the same situation. its not easy changing all my years of habit and pick up on the japanese sticks.
its just like how people dont attend CF tournies because they say the controls are garbage. i see it the other way… japanese sticks are garbage to me. and its not like i dont give them a try. ive adapted to xbox pad, ps2 pad, keyboard, and american stick on console, arcade, and online. but nothing is more frustrating to me than the jap controls. i tried for a week and its too frustrating. ex’s wont come out. i cant block without jumping backwards. i cant even do a SRK on wakeup without failing 19/20 times. i can do fine in the CF cabs because ive played on them for awhile.
so if i did attend NEC, i would have just been a spectator. i cant play on those controls. I can attend CF gatherings and play casuals more often but thats about it.
I used to be like you. Couldn’t stand Japanese sticks. Thought American sticks were number one.
If you just practice with Japanese controls (maybe 2-3 weeks, not just one lol) you’ll eventually realize Japanese controls are superior in every way. I tried playing on an American stick recently. Felt like playing with boxing gloves on.
For real tho man, seems everyones got you on blast cuz of the way you come off talking about your denjin game. Maybe unintentional but you come off as slightly arrogant. Especially coming from someone, who from what I read, is mainly an online player.
Denjin may possibly be “skilless,” but it takes away from using ex fireballs, which is basically Ryu’s best special, and game plan in 3S. Ryu players who pick Denjin are almost handicapping themselves. Most of the time I would rather play a Denjin Ryu than a SA1/2 Ryu.
I would rather compare denjin to makoto/q’s super choices. As in both their sa1 and sa2 are usable in different situations. Same with denjin.
Denjin isn’t skillless.
