idk about anyone else but to me, its not about the set ups its just the competition thats going to be at the tournament, whether you like the sticks or not it doesnt matter, you can have fun by just spectating…hell you can even learn a lot more by watching a higher level player play than by just playing casuals yourself, watching MOV and Momochi showed me that even without playing you can still learn a lot more…to you it may be about just playing and doing the same shit that you always do even when someone tells you otherwise but if you take a step back and actually look at how you play and how others play against each other at a higher level than maybe youll improve and actually have a good amount of knowledge, this is what happens at tournaments or gatherings…you learn and have fun…its not as simple as saying “oh im not gonna travel to play video games” when youve never done it before
oh and btw that “SRK on wakeup without failing 19/20 times” thing…maybe you shouldnt be doing wakeup SRK at ALL if you cant do it in the first place -___-
Out of Ruu, Magu, and Vanao? He isn’t. But go on… While you’re busy crying about Denjin, you’ve probably got juggled 20 times in two minutes by Yun. Just saying…
Why is it we spell it Vanao when the katakana is ???which would be Vanawo. Are we going by how he wants it to be pronounced which differs from the katakana? I don’t get it.
yeah i hear a lot that japanese sticks give you the most potential. sometimes i hate using a pad because i cant kara throw and ryu has a good kara throw range. ill give it a try again eventually.
and nah, im not trying to be arrogant. im just usually blunt in what i say. most of the things i say offline would just be a joke or not seen as offensive but people have a habit of ambush listening online. there are times i come off as a troll because i dislike chun/makoto but everybody has complained about something whether its turtling, unblockables, mashing, etc.
thats what theshend’s vids are for. i watch how good players play and pick up on how they react to other players. im not always random and predictable like how i play online when i play offline.
ill probably show up to the next NEC or big tourney (thats also not too far away) when i pick up on japanese stick.
because Yang can roll under denjin with ex or with super. and hes very fast so he can divekick away.
akuma is very easy to fight against because he has the lowest stun bar. its like why urien choose aegis on him. just do blockstrings setups & “trap” his teleport with a fireball.
Because Yang’s SA2 goes right through Denjin. A few other character can do it too, I think Elena and one other. If Ryu is close enough to you, you can throw him on wakeup and it should beat Denjin. Same applies to grab supers.
No. You sound arrogant because you claim that you’re the “strongest denjin ryu” in the US without having won (let alone placed well in) a single tournament in your entire life. Am I writing “clearly” enough for you?
exactly. what does the quotes mean? read what it means. you guys like taking one part of a statement and ignore the rest.
if you actually read it, you would know i said the exact opposite. theres no such thing as the better “denjin ryu”. thats why i distinguished myself as most proficient in terms of knowing his gameplan, best setups, and overall knowledge… which doesnt even mean much.
someone like jwong can randomly pick denjin ryu and win more matches against me in a set. that doesnt mean he knows how to play denjin ryu more. he just knows how to “play” the game better (zoning, execution, reactions, basics, and fundamentals)
if you agree to disagree then theres no need to even discuss who the best so and so characters are in Japan. Kuroda or MOV will take up 75% of the list just from their overall exp. same with the U.S.
and im confident i know more on denjin ryus gameplay, setups, etc more than any US player.
on a sidenote, besides frankie3s, how many denjin ryu mains have won a tournament since 2005 and up?
on another sidenote, im pretty sure i read at least 3 different “i believe i have the best (character) in the EC, US” recently on SRK and yet they didnt receive any bashing.
his SA2 and the fact that he can play mind games with the denjin player not to mention escape pretty well if his stun is high (using teleport and his dash back to save some time helps)
but most of the time, its mainly his SA2 and sometimes SA1 due to invincibility and much more lenient execution than SA2…but for the most part if a ryu player throws a fireball into denjin its possible to parry then super right through no matter what so its hard for denjin to actually work half the time
so why dont you explain what this means then? cuz it seems like you’re saying a LOT by knowing “more on denjin ryus gameplay, setups, etc more than any US player”
i mean you saying shit like "id do pretty well against frankie3s. i know his style and i know how to fight denjin. " or even “if we’re talking about strictly denjin game play and setups and knowledge, then im gonna have to say im the strongest in the U.S. of course” must prove you’re arrogant
yea you say that players have more exp but i mean you know ALLL there is to know about denjin setups and knowledge than a top player should so you SHOULD be a top player with Denjin ryu yourself right?? nvm you are the greatest, no one is above you in the US
in the U.S. with a period. of course is the next sentence. and i already explained what this means. and yes im pretty sure id do well against f3s. i dont think thats being cocky.
“i still believe i have the best ken in the EC” - wouldnt that be more arrogant? that would mean his ken is stronger than every ken out there in EC and theres a lot of great ken players.
because this isnt training mode where you get to set what your dummy does. if someone spends all his time mastering the best geneijin combos for every character and situation BUT doesnt know how to get inside a brick wall defense and is weak in other areas, im sure that yun wouldnt be a top player.
im only a decent-good player with a lot of room to improve. simply knowing how to use denjin isnt going to get me anywhere if i cant initiate it.
So why even make the claim to begin with? Anson, if you’re so smart, then why make a statement that you can’t possibly back up? Even better. Let me blow up your argument right here. 1. You say that you know the MOST about using Denjin. 2. You claim that Denjin is not mindless and that you need a “good knockdown, proper execution […] and plenty more.” 3. Then you say that if someone picks Denjin and beats you, it DOESN’T mean that his Denjin Ryu is better. It just means that he’s more skilled at the GAME or what you call “zoning, execution, reactions, basics, and fundamentals.”
So my question: what exactly is the difference between one’s knowledge of how to use Denjin and one’s knowledge of how to play the game? Let me save you the trouble of wracking your puny little brain and answer for you: there is none. You just got baited in to contradicting yourself, son. Go home and be a family man. Don’t ever fuck with the professor.
theres a huge ass difference. knowing how to play the game is a broad statement. knowing how to use denjin is a specific area that does not necessarily contribute to knowing how to play the game.
when i say knowing how to play the game, it doesnt mean knowing every single shit in the game bro.
let me give you an example: im sure nitto knows how to play third strike but he doesnt know how to fight denjin. he doesnt tech roll on srk denjin allowing ryu to charge 5 maximum hits and ive seen this in every single situation. so are you saying theres no difference??
