Mame’s list (which certainly isn’t anything official) for A2 is:
Street Fighter Zero 2 (Asia 960227)
Street Fighter Zero 2 (Japan 960227)
Street Fighter Zero 2 (Brazil 960304)
Street Fighter Alpha 2 (US 960306)
Street Fghter Zero 2 (Brazil 960531)
I can’t check out the Brazil 960304 release, doesn’t work properly. How many versions does it even list?
Here are some videos I made. If there is anything you want me to record and upload, feel free to pm me. Please give a detailed description of what you want. Also note that I am not an expert player.
So the SFA3 Arrange is not quite Upper, just arcade SFA3 plus new characters! Awesome! The only question is, which versions of Guile and the New Stereotypes are they? PSX? DC? Saturn? Upper? The only tests I know for sure:
Fei-Long: Test his Rekka Ken. In the PSX version, it was really hard to get the 3rd iteration on his Rekka. They fixed it for the Saturn version. Dunno about the DC version.
Dee Jay: Test his Air Slasher projectile. If it has 0.03 seconds of recovery, then we know it’s one of the home versions, at least. If it has a long pause afterwards like in ST, then it’s Upper. I dunno how to further test after that.
I take it the training mode here also shows the stun meter, which could be very helpful. I remember all those times on PS1 A3 that I mess up long combos, because of the training dummy going dizzy at the wrong time before I cancel to a special or super.
there is the upper version(arrow added to the title, hella long recovery after dee jay’s slasher). and it seems like Hyper Street Zero is based on it.
as for how to get Hyper Street Zero, here’s how i did it:
I completed every game once. As simple as that.
but i still have no clue on how to get the new ism’s…
edit: found it. in HSZ pick your char in z3 mode; then when you must pick between normal, saikyo and the other, hold start and tap left(for p1) or right(for p2). the arrow will disappear, and you’ll be in S-ism. obviously, color are matching(normal = green S-Ism; classical = red S-Ism…). have fun. oh, and nothing matches the saikyo color.
Anyone knows if Dramatic Battle is 4 Players? Or 8 Players in SFA3, where its like endurance battle in MK3? I know something like that was on World Tour mode in PS1/DC SFA3.
The port of A1 is not based on the arcade version. As far as I can tell, it’s not the PS1 version either. And no, Sodom does not have his unblockable bug.
A2 seems fine though. Rose still has her unblockable Soul Illusion bug, Crazy Damage Soul Spark if you absorb fireballs, the wierd Custom Combo knock up bug, etc. I haven’t come across anything different yet, all of the old Customs and bugs work so far.
In regards to everything else, I’ve tested several Crouch Cancel infinites in A3 here, and the few I’ve tested worked fine (Ryu’s Vega’s, Chun-li’s, Cody’s). I also tested a few of the basic Crouch Cancel VC endings, and I had no trouble getting those to work as well (Charlie’s, Sakura’s, random other characters). They still have the same player limitations and whatnot as well, so I’m not sure what BAS was refering to.
Trying to open discussion-if Karin is top tier in CapCom Fighting Evo, and there is a Marvel mode then its possible that she is even deadlier in Marvel mode I would think with her easy combo chains…but in this game it seems to be a trade-off with the loss of V-Ism in Marvel mode…
The computer controlled character was taking most of the hits. I could have reshot the video until I had a perfect game but what’s the point? I just wanted to show people what the game looked like. If you want to be a jackass about it I could just delete the videos.
