All About Makoto / Read this first

hey guys can you help me on timing? I have trouble doing karakusa>hp>hayate o.O and karakusa>hp>saII

i usually double tap hp when i see the feet hit the ground from karakusa the super you just from what i’ve noticed start as soon as you do your second tap and be quick or you’ll miss it, although alot of times i’ll fuck up the order and do karakusa>c.hp just keep practicing you’ll get it soon ^^

dam then theres no shortcut to doing these combos xx sa like some chars -.-

nope cause if you did qcf fierce you’d dash punch c.c;

learn it the old fashioned way, memorize the timing, thats how i did it:sweat:

I used to have a lot of trouble linking Karakusa>HP (and I’m guessing you have this problem too?). For me the biggest help was watching someone else play (at the arcade) and watching his hands to see when he tapped HP. If you don’t have this opportunity, then (tries to visualize it) at the end of the Karakusa you’ll see Makoto put him/her down and then shout something. I think I push HP near the end of her exclamation.

Then as soon as you tap HP, do the Hayate/SAII as fast as possible. If nothing happens then you’re probably doing the motion wrong (at least, that’s what I think my problem was/is).

One person told me to just mash HP, but I think it’s better to learn to do it with a single tap. I’m sure it’s cost me some games, but in my case I usually lose anyway so if I mess this up it’s no bother ^^.

Hope this helps.

What are Maks best setups into her Ex chop…is that called Hayate ot Fukiage? Sorry im unfamiliar with her move names.

I think the chop is called Oroshi, but I’m not sure either.

Anyways, there aren’t “setups”, per se, but standing/crouching short into it usually works pretty nicely. It’s more about knowing when your opponent is going to block low than anything else.

yeah it’s oroshi. c.lk and s.lk are good setups for an oroshi, ex is always the best option but short/strong/fierce are ok too… but fierce oroshi is a bit slow. you can also kara an ex oroshi to mixup with your kara karakusas.

you should kara everything :looney:

kara things when you can, but sometimes you don’t kara for a certain mixup. if you’re conditioning an opponent to get out of kara karakusas, he won’t tech roll or something and you just standing karakusa him.

Set-ups I can think of at the moment:

After a jumping mk axe kick (landed or blocked), do s.lk —> ex chop. Higher level players will eventually stop you, but otherwise its very descent.

On opponents wake up do an ex chop, gotta time it right of course.

On opponents wake up, while your at a 1 dash back range, kara-cancel it:
s.lk —> ex chop

After c.lk

After resets in corner sometimes

Theres gotta be more set-ups. Hope those help.

-EDIT-

Oh yeah I almost forgot, if you didnt know this already… Use lp chop also, a descent move to link supers into. Risky, but I find myself getting the link 75% of the time so Im happy with it. Dont forget you can link SAII from it =). And kara-canceling that move is good if u didnt know that either.

some questions i gotta ask about makoto.

in the corner, what does this combo work on.

pretty much. Fierce to EX hadoken motion punch. forward LK reset. kara command grab. i was able to hit it half half on ryu and them, but i dont know how the timing is. is it like F>LK asap or what.

also after SA2 cancel super jump huricane kick motion MK, uppercut, super jump cancel to FP.

sorry i suck with naming her moves lol.

Um… i don’t know if anyone has posted this (stupid) stuff, but playing againts a Chun, i saw that Lk//Mk Karakusa can grab Chun when she’s doing the Kara-Throw at best (at worst, the Karakusa is canceled) … i kwow that it’s too random, but Chun try often Kara’s you when you’re cornered… ^^U.

Does fukiage\EX fukiage have invincibility frames, or does it just put her in a really low position. I ask this because I did a fukiage and Ryu’s hadouken went right through me.

Edit- Also is there anywhere I can find block stun data on Makoto’s attacks?

the ex version has high invincibility for a brief moment long enough to get under a fireball or even a long ranged attack like dudley’s twards fierce maybe even urien’s standing roundhouse not sure but worst case scenario you’d match blows i think.

Couple questions

Is kara fierce oroshi a good idea on SAI? If it’s blocked it’s safe, knockdown on hit, and if they parry you can cancel into SAI.

Rh kara hayate/oroshi do they have any purpose?

I know it’s possible to link late mk tsurugi into standing fp and then cancel into rape death. Is this a good idea? I seem to be horribly inconsistent with my timing so the fp either doesn’t come out, the tsurugi doesn’t come out, or the fp is blocked.

I suppose I should ask this in the ex corner threads, but why does it seem like makoto is the only character who gains no juggles on stun?

In my opinion, I could only see using roundhouse kara oroshi being used to scare your opponent when they are knocked down. Maybe use it if your opponent is good at parrying oroshis on wakeup or using wakeup dp’s or close range sa’s. I dunno.:wonder:

To my knowledge ex fukiage and fukiage just causes mak to duck really low (ie it will hit chuns cr jab, hell it will hit anything that isn’t on the ground poke wise)

and it’s ducking can cause it to go under most projectiles in the game.

As for kara hayate’s I was getting around to testing to see if cr rh kara’ed jab hayate hits anyone jab hayate doesn’t hit post ex hayate corner juggle. Thats the only practical use I could think of and at the moment thats pure theory…

As for gaining no juggles on stun thats not true, its just that her normal juggles do atleast the same if not more damage then any stun juggle you could do.

On Q for example if an abare which places them in the corner stuns you can do sj fwd tsurugi and juggle with three s.fp and cancel the last one into a taunt so you recover from the taunt just before they getup.

although that (3 fp) ender iirc does the same amount of damage as the standard damage ender…

i’ve done ex fukiage x2 against a few people

dudley
ken
alex
hugo

i haven’t tried it against anyone else but meh

also a well timed ex fukiage well timed will duck under sean’s SA1 and if your right infront of him pop him up and out of his hadoken stance lol
