i’m certain prometheus will get panned when its released in america, lol. On the plus side, the cinematography and visual effects are amazing, (but not amazing enough to compensate for the script).
i’ll give a more in-depth review after I rewatch it tonight.
]i thought this was the most important part of the film
I have a feeling that there will be a quite a few American reviews will come up with some ridiculous reasons for not liking it.
Ninja Edit - I was wrong, I was so wrong here are some early reviews - mostly positives, main gripes seem to be because of some of the action didn’t can’t make sense plot wise. Which was my feeling a lot got cut out.
I’ll just say one thing, during the first 15mins watching it I thought to myself “so ridley finally reached kubrick level” but theres things in this film that made me start watching it differently. I’ll say what I wanna say later on but I know im gonna have to watch it again
Its good, but i was hoping for a tad more than what we got. Like ordering a great meal that didn’t fill you up and left wanting more.
I think that’ll probably be the main complaint most have. The hype machine promised a bit more than what the actual movie could deliver, and some will be disappointed.
Not great reviews then I look at the writer’s previous work UGHHH why do they let idiots work on such great material, I guess it was stupid to expect it to be as good as Alien whatever still hyped to see it just not going in expecting one of the greatest sci fi’s ever. Definitely in IMAX.
Yeah this was a trainwreck of a movie. SOOOOOOOOOOO much unanswered, and such an overall letdown. I had a TON of questions going into that movie, and like NONE of them were answered.
The main ones. You never find out exactly why the Engineers were building all that shit. Sure, they assume it was for war or for creating/uncreating, but why? I mean the crew themselves goes there with all those questions, and few get answered. The movie is setup to create a new separate franchise, and I AM interested in it, but I found that the movie jumped around too much, answered very little, and almost seemed to setup a TV series.
There was at least one moment where something suddenly popped up in the foreground which made my eyes have to adjust in a weird way though. Like computer graphics suddenly popping up, shit like that. Felt very unnatural and kinda kicked me out of the movie for a second.
So you’re hating on it because you didn’t leave the movie completely sated on all your questions? You should have known they’d save a lot for the sequel…
