wtf man, I’ve been parking/driving there for over a year and this is the first incident of any kind I’ve ever heard of. it was a just a random act…but whatever, I don’t blame you for not wanting more car repairs.
I should’ve been clear. It’s nothing against you or where you live Jim but rather I don’t want to get into anymore shit over there. Odds are, someone will get smart again and recognize the car and decide to get funny. My car is very noticeable. So, I’d rather avoid that BS. In my case, I think it was just a draw of bad luck. And yeah, you’re right, I don’t want anymore car repairs.
Edit: Unless we can find another median to meet at, I’ll fly solo (If I go).

I want to go to CAD friday, but I have a huge industry party over at Optimus downtown starting at about 3. My goal is to go over there, drink their free booze, schmooze for a few minutes and try to land myself some additional contacts for my career, then scoot out around normal quitting time. Who here would be heading out to CAD and could pick me up from a metra stop or something that would be convenient for them? Anybody going after 6-7’ish?
i could pick you up at wilmette metra station (take union north line) a bit after 7. i dunno how you’d get home afterwards though.

The purple line linden train stops right around the same place as the wilmette metra, I believe, and it runs until 2 am.

it’s really up to you if you wanna take the cta or metra to wilmette… but like i already said, the purple line is slow as fuck if you take it from the loop. usually takes an hour. i spend 2 hours on the train everyday. :mad:

Yeah, I’m used to the slowass trains, too. I have friends who live a few blocks from the Kimball stop on brown. I read a lot of books, haha. I’ve almost finished a book trilogy (by George Alec Effinger… a weird cyberpunk story set in the middle-east) in about 3 weeks. I spend too much time on trains, lol.
I’ll probably take you up on the offer as long as nothing explodes for me in the next couple days (and if I can rewire my ps2 stick). I’ll split gas money and crap with you.

since i’ll be driving toward the train station and back… it’d make sense for me time- and distance-wise to just head directly to cad, since your house is a bit of a detour for me to begin with. i’d still give you a ride if you really want one, but if we all want to maximize playing time at cad, i think it will be the best option if we went separately.

variety should take a backseat to demand. especially when warcraft people who care nothing about fighters are playing rumblefish.
only ONE kid that played Rumble fish that night out of all of us that tried it out played WoW (and trust me, he cares about fighters more than WoW)…if people are vocally willing to bring their own shit, then the “demand > variety” argument is already moot. Regardless, even if they don’t…I don’t want to do that right now…there hasn’t even really been a problem yet, and I’m going for pulls. I mean, maybe not everyone wants to play 3S or ^Core…what good would that do anyone if that was the only shit there? If i wanted to do that, I’d go to your house (which isn’t bad, because Jim’s place doesn’t suck.) This is why I want the variety. I want kids to have a choice here…try out other shit. I already followed demand when I gave y’all 2 dedicated tv’s for 3S and ^Core…
Kennywood: I usually bring my DC and PS2 as well as my TV, so the total console setup is 3 PS2’s and a DC…I have CVS2 on both, so you don’t need to worry about the extra shit, just your converter will do. Thank you for offering though, much appreciated.
