“on hit.” I think I did say that? There are many things about stnghb to be found. Keep looking. If you are not hitting flash chops then your mix up game is lacking something.
dont be a dick if you don’t know the answer, and THEN try to play it off as if you do.
it’s not that its a useless combo, because good alex players land many a toward fierce on people.
akutiasiugiaus: its just toward fierce to super, problem with the super part is that you only have 1 frame to do the hyper bomb, which in turns means you’re fucked.
Cause a 360, whether it be on reaction, or perfectly timed buffer, is a bitch.
though you could still try waiting a bit and then doing the super because if alex lands a toward fierce, you can always catch someone trying to return the favor after getting a fist to the face.
and as we all know, HYPER BOMB = bad ass = because of 3(?) invincibility frames.
then again if you are hitting many strong or fierce flash chops away from stun, your competition is lacking. Cause that shit is so easy to react to.
Hey… Guess what? Most of us know the answer to that question… Beacause DJ is completely right on what he said >__>…
So which Godly player has landed a toward fierce on a grounded opponent? I have never seen it.
Ill be that person, except im not godly… Seems Like I can only pull it off on dudley , chun , and Mako. I havent gotten it on anyone else.
I’ve landed it before because I’ve missed my kara-throw timing.
i just dont know what to say…
I’ve literally answered the question myself like 3 times before. Alex is my secondary character so yeah I know a thing or two about him. And eveyrtime I tell people it’s a worthless combo and f+HP isn’t a ton more useful than the combo (though f+HP definitely has its uses). I dunno…I guess I shouldn’t be surprised by such questions. Everyone sees it on the KYSG vids/random youtube scrub vid etc. and go wondering about how they can do it. Alex is a believer’s character though. Anything will work with him if you have faith. Even SA3.
Strong/fierce flash chops aren’t bad to add in your mix up game just because when used sparingly it’s risky to parry them and they’re safe on block. If your opponent constantly gets hit by them though…then yeah.
I would say learn charge partion set-ups this what breaks the good from the great Alex players. He already has very good mix-ups and if you learn to partin then you will have and even better mix-up game. I think if you learn to partion this will make alex a very scary force in battles.
Charge partition stomp? Albeit, there was that one Japanese video on YouTube (Alex basics or some shit like that) that showed how to do partition stomp, but IMO, I feel that it’s not really necessary to play as a good Alex.
haha i just started playing alex i think SA1 is pretty good
i like it cuz im not good with hit cancelling(reaction is to slow? hell yeah!)
so i love to use SA1!
is alex mid tier? or low tier?
I love using SA 1 as well sometimes. Alex is bottom mid tier.
I agree it’s impressive when you see it done and it can certainly catch you off guard but he has alot of better and more important shit.
Plus I can’t do charge partions to save my life
Learn how to do standing 360s to make the super even more dangerous. That way you can activate it as they’re in the air about to hit the ground. If you time it right you grab the guy once he hits the ground. Works great against empty jumpers.
Grand Master speaks straight out of NC!
Need to focus on mix up. Alex’s standing forward kick stays actively hiting for 3 frames which means in american terms it can be used as meaty wake up attack. If done right will stop jab dragons before the input is complete.
Correction: Alex’s Hyper Bomb is a 270* not a 360. Played all street fighters and Zangief’s SPD was never 360. Bad american info. If you go to “ufwd” you will jump every time. The computer was programed to have a semi-jump cancel command in it’s input logic that will allow you to cancel Alex’s jump at the
"up"position making it possible to pull a ground Hyper Bomb or Hugo’s Moon Assualt Press.
Correct SPD input from Super Street Fighter II X:From first players prespective
fwd,dfwd,dwn,dwnb,back,upback, up+any punch or kick.
Interesting. I always understood that it was 270 because the computer really only needed to recognize left, down, right, and up, or somethin’ like that.
I don’t think we should be arguing over WHY its 270 just letting people know that its 270 is enough for now don’t you think?
kinda like I don’t do boomerang raid: d, df, f, d, df, f + p
I just d,df, d, df + p
makes it easier to buffer. at least I don’t mean to go all the way to forward.
Bleh. Semantics are interesting every now and then.
Yup, and for Hugo’s 720, you really just have to do a 540, up, back, down forward, down, back, up + punch.
