Alex: Stuff everybody should know

up to up sounds like a 360 to me.

Its two 270s in opposite rotations. Technically you don’t have to start from the up position, but this way you only have to mask one up instead of two.

Odd. I’ve tried doing the moonsault press with Hugo going from forward to up as I did in SF EX and to my dismay, it didn’t work. Constant frustration led me to try ending with uf and it works perfectly now. I could be inaccurate about this but it works for me so I use it.

Educating people about its actuality isn’t always helpful IMO. I recommend players to use what works for them when it comes to execution.

Lol youre a retarded scrub. Supers should be used whenever you think they will hit. You must suck a big dick with that shitty mentality. And btw, crossup stomp DOES work. The bullshit you speak of works in theory, but almost never in a match, cause people dont telegraph stomps, and people would rather block instead of tapping.

says the canadian.

Thanks for the random canadian hate! Please go back to gamefaqs.

Rofl I was just random hating :wgrin: Don’t worry too much about it.

I’ve never been to gamefaqs. Or was that post directed towards him?

really? i like to use SA1 i think it’s pretty good

I guess what everyone is trying to say is:

If you want to use Alex to the fullest extent…meaning regular variety with normals and supers alike but have the option for EX and Super at the same time, your best bet would be SA2. Because it has two bars. Plus one combo and an extra hit and you’ve already got one bar.

GO ALEX PRAYERS.

Oh yeah if you’re from out of Cali or not Cali and you are going to Evo, go to the Evo Worlds Forum and look for my Alex vs Alex money match thread. prease. I wanna see how Alex play is looking around the States. I’m definitely going to tape my matches against KSK and Zangoefu if they show.

Zangoefu is strong. I had fun playing him last Evo.

ill mm dander ^^. too bad im not going to be at any evo. and Zangoefu can not play on ps2 at all. i perfected him at evo only becuase ( i feel ) ps2 is still not the buisness:arazz: . so if you played him on ps2 multiply that by like 3 and you prolly got the real deal.

Truth. That also goes for any Japanese or US skilled player that was at Evo last year.

Is Hyper Bomb really that hard to land?

Yes. Yes it is.

Yeah…if you’re close enough to Alex when he does a Hyper Bomb you can throw him out of it. Like against Hugo it’s not even worth using. If you try to go for it you’ll probably get 360’d out of it. It takes 2 or 3 frames to really start up meaning the opponent can freely jump out of it even after the super flash. The opponent must be recovering from something (like after parrying an attack with recovery) otherwise the super becomes really hit or miss. You can’t freeze frame the opponent with the super like Gigas.

bumping this thread to see if it will be visible on the Alex Specific forum.

You can not throw Alex out of hyper bomb. Throw is three frames and only has 1 active frame and Hyper bomb is “muteki” for 2 frames in Japanese means “invincible”.

My source is Japanese and I test everything. Please do not negative rep me on something you do not understand(not to you but I got negetive rep from this thread). We in America lost to japan 15-3 teams Evo 2002 to a twelve in 3rd strike. We have a long way to go.

I will stop posting if this continues.
If I do not know what I am talking about then I will ask you all a question.

Is there a throw disadvantage between Alex and Ken and what is the number? A simple yes is not good enough.

Oddly phrased questions For The What?

Maybe…Saisyu’s speaking about throw range? In which case, I’m aware that Alex has more range than Ken. I have no clue, though.

And yeah, you can’t throw Alex out of Hyper Bomb. If that happens, the Hyper Bomb was timed incorrectly, AFAIK.
