If Chun and Ryu can get almost all their 3s shit then i think Alex will as well. None of his moves really overlap in utility so i dont really see a need to omit any.
The second move is Air Knee Smash, not Air Stampede, which is the Stomp.
Anyway, WTF? Only 4 specials and one of them is the former command normal Headbutt? Did Guile train him before Tom?
Seriously, NO STOMP? I suspect that some of those design wannabes for whom non ingame aesthetics are the most important thing in the world stepped in and commented that it would be awkward looking if he had both charge and motion moves.
Too excited for st.HK
trigger basically replaces slash elbow and gives it a better reward/guard break + focus
that’s not a bad tradeoff at all. additionally, looks like he’ll be able to combo into/grab headbutt
God damn it, all the really good moves
That is really dissapointing
I’d be fine if maybe his reversal was his ddt, I want to see that animation at least. Rip ddt mixup 1997-2016
Hes lost 1 and a half special moves since third strike. I thought he would have more stuff, not less.
Need to see normals before I get too happy, st.hk is nice, hopefully they kept all his command normals.
Yes, it is disappointing. But I don’t think they didn’t put in the stomp just to avoid mixing motion and charge inputs though. Necalli is a motion character with one charge move (and an important one to utilize at that).
I could probably live without stomp and ddt, but ex elbow slash was my baby.
If Alex’s V-Skill gives his next attack counterhit properties, why did they phrase it so strangely? Why didn’t they just say his next attack gets counterhit properties?
“… the very next attack he pulls off will count as a hard hit and damage the opponent as if they were counter attacked. If that attack misses or is blocked however, he loses the hard hit bonus.”
So does the V-Skill only damage the opponent as if they were counterhit, i.e. just grant 20% bonus damage on that hit?
ask haunts
Nevermind, Famitsu article pretty clearly shows him performing V-Skill and then landing a CC with his St.HK big boy boot.
I can live without ddt, chop, and stomp just thinking about SFV’s mechanics and the confirmed specials at hand. Need to see his normals in play like c.HP, s.HK, and j.MK as being in their. They were pretty big on his game plan, so I wonder if Capcom will keep them in here. huh! Need that reveal trailer.
Life without the ddt is a sad life
If the v-skill does give counter hit properties and he stills has his st.HP overhead he could be really scary. Assuming the overhead has crush counter properties or lets you combo on counter hit that is.
More stuff. Chop confirmed.
Now I can just taunt people in my Arnold schwarzenegger voice, “get to the choppa!” when playing Alex.
Head Crush: Alex does a small jump to close distance, then grabs his opponent and delivers a hearty headbutt! This move delivers extremely high stun to the opponent!
Seems like this is the new DDT, presumably it also hits crouchers like Birdies jumpgrab/dive.
