Another thing I’m wondering about, does the CH v skill property also apply to his trigger? If not, I’d imagine a high trigger/meterless combo would be: trigger hit x st.hk CC x hp chop x powerbomb. Which would look totally badass and probably do tons of damage.
I don’t think it’s a matter of overlapping in utility, in this game they seem to want to trim down characters with a lot of moves to make them easier to play.
Karin got the same treatment, she had over 7 moves in SFA3 and in this game she only has 4 (counting both of the followups she has for Sappo) so I knew they would trim down Alex’s moveset since he had so many in SF3.
Speaking of Karin, for V-Reversal they may do the same thing to Alex’s which would be making it one of the special moves that they omitted from his moveset… I’d bet on it being his stomp if this turns out to be the case.Also D.D.T was pretty much useless in 3S so I’m not surprised they took that away.
Sounds kinda similar to Sodom’s command grab, IIRC he does a short jump and then grabs the opponent.

I sense that we will get some update next Thursday about when it will come out. I feel that we won’t see Alex until the 22nd but I feel that they are gonna wait to after the 2nd tournament to put Alex and the new changes in. I personally would like to see them before but we know what we want, we don’t always get. I think he looks more ruthless. To me if I saw him, I would run away. Can’t wait to get planted by Geif and then Razors edge him lol.
im satisfied so far especially if the stun gun is a true grab. Sure I liked the DDT animation more but oh well.

I would’ve preferred Headbutt as a command normal I think this is fine. DDT animation was great but it’s still with us in spirit.
Anti Air Knee is good. I thought he’d get the Stomp over the Knee but I guess he learns how to leap small buildings later.
Flash Chop was almost a given. "After the Heavy version, it’s possible to combo into his throw attack “Power Drop” I am really hopeful for HP Chop to turn them around like it did before. Just for aesthetic reasons.
He’s got to say “Hyper Bomb” during EX Power Bomb right? It’d be criminal not to.

I have a feeling DDT could end up becoming his V-R. Sort of the same way Mika uses the stunner. I would be so fine with that too.
So his v-reveral is his f.mk? Huh. Not what I would have chosen, but I guess this means it might not be in his normals.
He’ll still probably have the knee for st.mk. That grey health is a pretty good chunk for a v reversal too.

now that I’ve had some time to absorb and anaylze the hype; two things bug me.
His head doesn’t look too great in general. If they went for a more youthful alex then they did the opposite. I thought the bengus face sketch was great and expected that(thinner, sharper face and frizzy, angled hair), but instead his face is REALLY chunky and his hair looks like a bag of fries.
His pants. Now they’re more like skinny jeans which COULD work…if they had not been like a bright primary lime green. IMO they would of looked much better had they been a couple of shades darker. Other than that I really do like the look of the suspenders and shirt tied to his waist, specially in his v-skill shot.
I’m starving for his trailer because I want to know how mobile and large he really is. He just…looks fucking MASSIVE. He’s like 1.5x his 3S size.
His voice will make or break this.
I agree on his look. Some things look really good but his Blue Steel and McDonalds hair is taking away from it.

This Alex makes me think of Fist of the North Star, he’s got that Tetsuo Hara kind of a build/facial structure/warface.
I wonder what his combo ability will be like, and if it will heavily rely on his v-skill and counterhits. I mean, flash schop is his only grounded non-grab move so my guess is that his combos will probably be short, like birdie’s. Not that I really care too much, but I do hope he has SOME combo potential and isn’t like zangief who has the most canned combos in this game.
