Alex General Discussion: "At ease, loo-suh!" The Alex SFV Thread

I’m fairly certain it’s either:
A) Absorbs one ATTACK, so yes something like chun’s lighting legs or fang’s double hitting normals
or
B ) Absorbs one HIT, but charges real fast, covers a lot of ground and does a shitload of damage.

I dunno. A guard break sounds kinda bad. I’m not sure how you would be able to implement that, and what advantage it would have over a regular command grab.

If it’s vulnerable to V-reversal, it might be useless :frowning:

Maybe it causes a crumple state on hit or something. The description doesn’t sell me.

Too early to judge that. A guard break will most likely let him get a basic combo starter in, and we don’t know how his normal damage output with EX enders is like; but judging from his damage in 3S and his size in this game it’s probably close to birdie’s. Again, we don’t know.

I want the following:

[] 400 stun minimum for grab Headbutt. Two consecutive headbutts should stun everyone in the cast.

] Stomp covers from close range (LK) to midscreen (HK). It hits overhead on all variants or is safe in all of them. Its hurtbox is high enough to jump a projectile at its highest point.
[] LK Spiral DDT whiffs on standing characters, but is unblockable by crouching ones.

] If Stomp isn’t overhead, standing HP has 14 frames and deals about 120 damage.
[] Either EX Slash Elbow or counterhit regular slash elbow wall bounce the opponent like in TvC.

] Unlike the vast majority of the cast, he has a good fierce AA normal. Forward HP for 120 damage would be a candidate.
[] Standing HK is armored and its pushback is big enough to make it safe at max range.

] Give Powerbomb less range than SPD but keep at 5f (sigh, how low the command grabs have fallen…) and about 150 damage and 350 stun.

Why people think he won’t have flash chop? I don’t see any reason why he wouldn’t have it.

I wouldn’t miss it actually. Very slow / little range / so so damage dooms it to niche use or gimmick. Much like Urien’s knee drop, it’s a special move I actually want gone so other more useful ones stay while the people that care about “redesigns” can still say Alex is “reimagined” while still being Alex.

This conversation isn’t important! We need to know whether Alex is a grapple buddy or not! CAPCOM WHY DO YOU FAIL US!??!?!

Because they tired of doing nothing but fishing for the EX version in 3S.

Seriously - I woke up this morning with Jazzy NYC in my head and it’s stuck there. Not sure if it’s great or I should blame this thread for the amount of remixes they posted. :stuck_out_tongue:
Really hoping that Headbutt is b.HP and as much as I want it, I don’t think he’ll be getting the sleeper hold.

I havent played much 3S so slight changes wont hit me as hard as an alex veteran…

I just wish for Alex to hit like a truck, that guy better do nasty damage up close

Anyone else think his model looks like it was adapted from bryan in sfxt?

Zangief already has a rising fierce AA…dunno if they will give Alex his old rising shoulder fierce too.

I think adding an ex version of spiral that is combo able will only make the move cooler so of course it must happen.

I think DDT will just become something like Mika’s stone cold and just be a v reversal.
Groan all you want but it’d probably be more useful that way.
