Anybody try any powerbomb setups like CC st.HK > st.HK > any powerbomb? I tried it with a ryu mashing dp and the grab stuffed the dp every time. The second st.HK puts them in air recovery since the first crumples them. The same setup seems to work with CC f.HP > f.HP > powerbomb
I didnāt try this with the ai mashing jab or jumping on recovery though.

in reality stomp is suicide since itās slow enough that you can either see where heās going to land or even just parry + hold and OS any ambiguity (since the timing is 100% consistent unlike a jumping normal crossup).

i mean yeah itās a noob killer for sure. but anyone who plays third strike knows itās shit and the only time it works is when the other person is on auto-pilot. also online.
How can Alex create opportunities to land meaty f.hp? I need more of it in my game, I donāt get enough chances to get close enough from my knockdowns.
I believe you get a free dash in from ex elbow or ex chop knockdowns. Command and normal throws have butt for advantage. Iām not sure that you have enough time to throw a meaty f.HP after a dash in after ex chop/elbow though.
Edit: Iād explore those knockdowns the most though. Theyāre easy to get and it looks like we have a lot of time to play around after the knockdown.
So from playing a couple hours last night and bit today, Alex is pretty strong in neutral. Even if his buttons are slower compared to a lot of the cast they seem to have great hitboxes and great reach. So far he seems like the only character in the game that can actually hit with the tip of his normals.
That said, he is almost always in big trouble when your opponents get in and can start running their offense. Seemingly the entire cast can pressure him for free up close because he just doesnāt have good enough get-the-fuck-off me moves outside of Super. His EX Slash doesnāt have armor from the first frame and you really notice it in certain matchups, particularly Cammy, Chun and Mika (those are the only characters Iāve played against with competent players). You really have to pick the right moment to get the hell out of there.
Good defense and patience will be the key to the character going forward.
Just a note, EX Knee is invincible from frames 5-13, so a frame before active through all active frames.
V Skill is fast enough that if you knock them full screen with a Slash it may be worthwhile using it if theyāre just going to backroll. Otherwise itās mainly there to let you convert a Boot in neutral into a full combo or combo from a cr.mk into Clothesline.
V-Skillās strong in the sense that when activated it gives Alex some amazing hit confirm options, if we manage to let if off we can jab conversions, strong conversions, and auto CC on hit. But the issue is that you canāt cancel out of anything, itās punishable as hell when activated unless you manage to get a knockdown and if you do itās sacrificing the pressure you just earned.
