The issues already been resolved as me fake Steve and Gordan discussed it.
I I completely disagree that a top 5 five months ago is still the top 5. Considering the fact that as gordan has stated those selected players only want to play with one another. Which is fine, but a good portion of us have been attending the ranking battles trying to raise our rank and better our game. it is an insult to them to say. well fuck you this is our assumed best players (which looks like 6 people).

On a completely unrelated note, Im gonna come out on the 28th and hopefully meet a bunch of you guys (I know, late to the party, yadda,yadda) was gonna come out to the last one, but never confirmed if it wasnt on V Day. (wife=murder if I aint around on that day)
Anyways, Im hoping you and Shiro and a bunch of the boys are around, ill even jump in to get my ass kicked in SF4 for shits and giggles.
what me and Gordan have planned is to have the round robbin, then take that team of 5 in the same night and play against gordans team of five. the winning team will then enter be team edmonton.
Its odd how pretty much everything fake steve said was pretty much only herd and understood by fake steve.
I also never said they are or are not the top 5. Only that assuming that they are with out real proof (other than a round robbin 5 months ago) is a little foolish.
You guys are free to bicker on the issue if you want. But this sorta drama is corrosive toward the tournament. Note that the five man team had three predetermined spots. There were some solid players who were not in attendance.
Matty, 2dfighter, Teecee, Dop3, Jones, zac (unless I am forgetting in which case I am sorry) Raident the list does goon. Don’t assume I am being unjust or insiting any sort of major issue. It as as fakesteve said “It’s just better for the community, in terms of growth, hype, and simply maintaining interest.” you can not argue that is i unfair!
Thoe choice is made, you don’t have to enter or come to the round robbin. but it is going down.
A name which represents our entire city. And since this is not for money (although i am sure side bets will be placed), people could by that logic (make a team of whom so eve ryou wish to make the team of) enter. In which case we’d end up having way to many teams. This is something that could potentially happen. So in order to eliminate the drama that would obviously insue from multiple teams. I think simply having a team made from the round robbin play vs Gordans team. Then have the winning team represent Edmonton!
Also I don’t see a sponsor ship being out of the question. I would go threw many hoops just to get such a thing.
well u said we can do what we wanted steve, and everyone said they wanted longer matches for the 5v5 and now ur saying its evo rules 2/3 , we just don’t get it. also do u know for sure if van is even coming with their team? its far away and thats why people wanted to make another team.
It did not matter to me until half a dozen people came to me saying “we should do a round robbin and decide the team” I’m not one to put people on the spot. I looked at what they were saying and thought that it did make sense. So I figured that it wouldn’t be a bad idea to do it that way. The rules of the 5 on 5 are there now to make sure the 5 on 5 is legit.
I seriously think you guys should take into consideration that not everyone is in agreement with having a predetermined team. I do on the other hand understand that some of you feel that there is a set of 5 of the “best” players. So with people having conflicting beliefs, why not allow a round robbin and then let the two teams battle it out?
In this case both groups are forced into a match vs each other and the best team would win. If your guys group wins then by all means, what is there to lose? No ones playing for cash! If your not interested in a small crew battle then the 5 guys who played their balls off to get on the team should reserve the right to be the team that represents the city.

in regards to the van team, I’ve only talked to one of the players last night and he said the was interested. He has confirmed that 6 players are coming.
I’ve put way more money then i wanted to into this tournament and pull quite a few strings. So I’m good on betting money on anything atm. Unless its tvc =)
well i wanted to make 2 teams to get a mix of the top players and the good players so that everyone could get to play…but nooooooooooooooo has to be 1 team edmonton, so whatever fuck it, i got 500 on Gordon’s team, whoever thinks the result will be any different, put your money where your fucking mouth is bitches
why not just have a real wildcard team that participates in the actual 5 on 5
but give people from other cities a chance to somehow make it on. maybe host a wild card tourney like a day before the actual event and the top 5 from there could be the team.
