Anything I am running I am bringing the entire setup for (Even extra 360 Sticks in case the BB guys are PS3 based), unless these side tourneys explode with entrants we should be fine.
20 bucks should be the buy in for the 5v5, its just for fun after all. we should make team edmonton 1 and 2, calgary and sask will have a team too so that should be 4 teams.
all teams will play each other and the winning team will get the pot. Calgary will face 1 team and sask will face the other 2. I think we should do 4/7 round matches with 1 match per player on the team. lemme know what u guys think.
so far me and gordo wanna form team 1, if other edmonton players wanna be on our team or form team 2, let us know
also i don’t really care if there is more than 1 of the same character on the same team, its not a big deal to me.
Wait how do you get CvS2 on PC? If i can find out how ill do it for sure. I can also run 3rd strike on the laptop too.
best of 7 rounds? For real thats super long. why don’t we do this like evo style best of 1 match best 2/3 rounds??
Well we are there for mainly the teams matches, some of our guys r going back Sat night. I agree with TMJ, I think 5 vs 5 would be done in less then 25 mins if it was 2/3 rounds. Well at least do 3/5 rounds.

As I said earier, the 5 on 5’s are completly up to you guys, as i will likly not be entering it. But run it how you’d like, i just think 4/7 rounds is super long. most team battles are (If in tekken or any other 3d fighters) 3/5 rounds and (if sf4 or other sf games) 2/3 rounds.
how ever IIRC when it was empire arcadia vs canada at T7, they did a round robbin between empire and canada.

why kill team edmonton 2? im sure alot of others wanna play in the 5v5 and its not fair to them, and 4/7 rounds isn’t really longer than 2/3 2 matches, its almost the same cuz with 2 matches u gotta have wait times of repicking.
The reason I would suggest killing Team ED 2 is because if there was a team Van then there would be a 4th team. Having 5 teams and doing a 5 team round robbin doesn’t make any sense. Might as well scrap the whole idea of the 2v2 tournament and just make the whole day 5 vs 5. I can’t imagine that being too fun.
I only said a 5 vs 5 should be the same way evolution did it last year with their regional tournament.
It wasn’t even about money but bragging rights. Best of one 2/3 and these guys were coming from all over the states (some from Canada like scrubby dan as well).
Do what you guys want. I’m only giving my input on the whole team thing. I don’t see anything wrong with a 5 vs 5 specil event tournament with team ed vs team van vs team cgy vs team sask best of 1 2/3 rounds. But if for some reason thats not what goes down then thats fine by me.
After having spoken with Shiro, this makes sense. We need to play a round robin sometime soon, no “bosses”, to determine the single team that will represent Edmonton. Sunday the 28th seems to be the best day for this, whether it’s at Apocalypse (CRT setups only) or at Gordon’s place. The people that don’t make it onto the team can always just money match people individually.
I personally do not give a FUCK about street fighter IV. But while I was reading this thread one thing came to mind. Why is it that no one is doing the most obvious and simplest thing? Play for the right to be on the team. If I am right, you guys made a team Edmonton last time and had three spots already spoken for.
I am not going to get into how it’s a bit dumb to have spots spoken for, but here me out. Should a team that is sapose to represent an entire city embody the five best possibly players? If so then you guys should play for those five spots.
The way it looks is you got this crimson guy (sorry dude i do not know your real name) saying, “you can be on the team, you can be on the team”. That is not really a justifiable means to pick a team. It’s not a basket ball game played in a school court yard. The spots should be earned in a round robbin.
That is all I to say pretty much. Once again i fucking hate SF4 but i spoke with Steve a bit and thought I might as well throw my thoughts out there. This is in no way meant to be a flame war. I just do not care enough about games to flame or any stupid kiddy shit like that.

Dude you need to step up and lay down the rules. You keep forgetting that your the tournament host. So it’s really just your rules. So if you wanna fallow the Wizard dude rules then go for it. I wont be coming to no round robbin because personally I do not like this game. But I will help run this event with ya =p

But hey van never said anything about having a team but if they do im all down for a round robin. its just no one said anything so i thought i would make one of the teams up before it was too late, and since van never said anything we were gonna make another team to balance it out. When i asked who wanted in, no one said anything and stever was first to reply so i let him on. im not gonna go back on my word and kick him off, but if everyone else feels a round robbin is best , by all means thats fine with me.
