You see NO ONE is saying he doesnāt have the best offensive or that his teleport isnāt a great defensive tool. One can argue that Akuma as of now is arguably has one of the top 3 best offensive mix ups in the game and Defensively Akuma by far has the best Defensive tools in SFIV BUT as the game Capcom Super SFIV is getting to its final stages next year and are adding additional āthingsā to each character you must wonder what are they(Capcom) going to do with Akuma.
I can see it already A LOT of people in this thread are going to be complaining about āWhy didnāt Capcom did this or did thatā if they left Akuma the way he is and just added a 2nd ultra.
I had a discussion with some people I play SFIV online with(BronxpuertoRock, Capcomās Hero, JarimtheDream, NDRWPNDY, and 3 otherās) about if you give Akuma health or a faster demon flip or a faster recovery in his flip or a faster zanku hadouken and they all said it wouldnāt make Akuma S tier or god like simply because you have 8 total characters that nobody knows what they are adding offensive or defensive wise and also what about the remaining cast of SFIV? you think there not gonna improve Ryuās, Sagat, Rufus, Sim. Rog, Gouken, Bison.
BTW BronxPuertoRock is a Akuma player and won the Play N Trade tourney in Tampa, Fl and to be honest from what I seen heās the ONLY Akuma player that I seen actually win a Tourney using Akuma.
Remember this thread is about what YOU would like to see done/add to Akuma. Whether it happens or not or you AGREE with me or any other member in this post or you donāt agree is not the point. With respect, every post youāve made in this thread hasnāt sounded very well informed, and this one is no exception.
I didnāt bad mouth or talk shit to anyone in my post. I stated my opinion and didnāt name any names. The same canāt be said for you Iām afraid.
Youāve stated here that you assume Ryu and Sagat will be getting improvements. That is extremely unlikely. Sagat will certainly be getting nerfed in some way. My guess is toning down either the juggling properties or damage of his f + HK along with other possible tweaks. Ryu probably wonāt get too many changes as heās a fairly balanced character as is. When a developer states that balancing will take place in an update, that does not mean they will be making the entire cast ābetterā. As for the new characters, Akuma has ways of dealing with everyone on the current roster, and with that considered, I doubt these new additions will be an exception.
You say that you and a few others Iāve never heard of think he needs a faster Demon Flip, faster Zanku, and more health. Iām sorry to say it, but itās ridiculous to think that Akumaās Demon Flip or Air FB need improvement.
In the event that he was given a faster flip, the mixups from said flip would be enhanced very significantly. Letās look at a few examples of flip mixups.
Off a knockdown from a HP SRK combo ender, the flip makes for several very strong mixup options if the opponent teched. If he didnāt tech, then there are even more options. Iām not suggesting that these options are limited to that particular situation, just an example.
If teched Akuma has the following options:
MK Flip throw for an additional 150 damage and another knockdown.
MK Flip Palm, land in front of opponent, hit confirm from a low attack into another combo for another 250 damage or so and another knockdown.
MK Flip Palm into ground throw for another 130 damage and another knockdown.
MK Flip Dive Kick, hit confirm, tick throw, normal xx Flip Throw/etc.
HK Flip Palm, land behind opponent, hit confirm from a low attack into another combo. This is even better than using the MK Flip Palm into c.LK hit confirm.
HK Flip Palm, land behind, ground throw.
If they donāt tech theyāll find themselves in the vortex again.
Thatās not even to mention the incredible reset options the flip gives Akuma among other things.
What balances this incredible offensive ability is that the opponent can avoid them entirely if he can react quickly enough. Making the flip faster would make it more difficult react to, and disturb this balance.
As for improving the Air FBā¦Seriously?..Correct me if Iām wrong, but it seems that youāre suggesting no hang time from the Air FB, ala 3rd Strike. Thereās no way in hell thatās happening. Forget it. If you think that wouldnāt disturb the balance of his character, you really donāt have any idea what youāre talking about.
As for a health boost, his low stamina is what holds his balance together. One cannot expect to have such incredible offensive and defensive tools without a cost. Iāve said it before, Iāll say it again, given his current status as a well balanced and well rounded character, any increase in stamina or improvement at all would have to be accompanied by a nerf elsewhere to maintain said balance. Iām fairly sure no one wants that.
Do not touch Akuma. He is fine the way he is.
I know itās a disadvantage, I was listing its removal as a buff to go along with the nerf of losing the other fb angles.
I imagine both having a downward kick that spikes down to a no-tech state. Not that anybody uses air EX for any purpose except avoiding stuff underneath you.

I didnāt know that for whatever reasonā¦ but I havenāt played in a few months so youāll have to forgive me That being said, I donāt really like the idea of him being able to combo into a SRK off it (I just checked to seeā¦ and being able to SRK into ultra is just bogusā¦lol). But you knowā¦ if ryu has it i donāt have a huge issue with akuma having it since akuma doesnāt have that combo into ultra/super optionā¦only zanku. So I donāt take issue with akuma getting it if ryu doesā¦ but i might say ryu shouldnāt have his anymore.

If he got the launch down while in mid-air all of a sudden the ex-air would have a offensive use to itā¦ but I really was wondering for the most part if it would still have the floating properties since you were saying you were taking away that from the fireballs.
And at the third one I thought you were saying that his fireball would pass through the opponentās fbā¦lol. On re-reading I think you were referring to the only 3 hit version being the EX.
* At 51% health or higher there is no damage scaling.
* 50% health damage scaling is 95%.
* 25% health damage scaling is 90%.
* 15% health damage scaling is 75%.

How often to you see an akuma get hit by gief ultra when the akuma has his options available. Again if the akuma fucks up a combo or otherwise yeah having 70-80% life taken sucks but thats why its fun to play akumaā¦ you have a bunch of options but you traded to get those with low life. I havenāt been caught by a gief ultra in a long time outside of me totally fucking up (I.E. whiffing dp during a BnBā¦shit that I deserve to loose from.) Seriously man you are a prime example of some people that annoy me in this game. Akuma is arguably the best character in this game and yet you still find things to complain about. Sorry for the mini-rant.
Also I completly agree with perfect legend. We are going to get a second ultra but otherwise please donāt touch him.
The only thing that needs to be changed is how his demon feeds the opponentās super bar like crazy.
Ah gotcha. The only change I was envisioning for the EX tatsu is the effect on the opp after hit, and maybe some animation to make it make sense.
For the third one, I was saying it should just go back to being like it was in 3S. E.g. the 3-hit fb could cancel up to 3 hits of a fb it collided with, but if it collided with a 1-hit fb it would still stop instead of going through it.
Iād like his 2nd Ultra to be the Tenma Gou Zankuu from the VS. series. Iāve always loved that super.

Akuma needs absolutely no changes.
Heās well rounded. Great Offense / Terrible Health/Stun. He canāt combo his Ultra (outside of FA) and his super comes with a price of wasting precious EX. His game is about pressuring into a knockdown, then making the enemy guess.
Akuma, is only as good as the player. While that sounds obvious, he doesnāt have crutches like Sagat/Ryu. Meaning; they get hit a lot, then they get a trade DP, a hail mary DP, early DP, or a DP -> FADC and end up doing 50%. Akuma doesnāt have that option. You have to work for your damage with Akuma. You sacrifice your damage for a knockdown and mix-up opportunity, and if they guess right, you lose your advantage (and you donāt get that damage you sacrificed back).
You also need to know a lot of character specific info when using Akuma. You need to know how to min/max your damage against each opponent. As mentioned above, he doesnāt have that go-to c.LKx2 hit confirm -> DP -> FADC, Ultra combo like Sagat that works on everyone. He canāt trade DP or early DP into Ultra like Ryu (or Sagat). He doesnāt have 800 ways to hit an Ultra like Rufus. You need to know if both hits of stand HK connect vs crouching against every char. Which chars does QCB+LK, c.HK work on. Which ones itās harder to connect on (yea, itās not the same). What characters allow c.LK, c.LP, stand LP, HK(2) and which characters basic c.LK, c.LP, c.MP -> QCB+LK doesnāt even work on.
Playing Akuma well requires quite a bit of effort. Now, Iām not going to misrepresent the fact that heās a great character. Of course he is. However, the better people get at SF4, the faster Akumaās edge diminishes. He doesnāt actually dominate the game like some people assume. He does well against the other top tier (Sagat and Ryu) but he doesnāt destroy them. Sure, if he had the health that Sagat had, he would completely dominate the gameā¦ but he doesnāt. He has a few uneven matches not in his favor (Honda, Blanka, Bison etc), which is interesting seeing as the other top fare much better against them and are generally more rounded against the rest of the cast. If SF4 lasted as long as some of the other SFās, I believe Akumaās rank would actually go down (to maybe 4th or 5th) and youād see other characters pass him up.
However, if they are adding another Ultra and it is selectable (meaning in place of RD Ultra), then giving him the Air Super FB would be the most logical addition. Heād most likely be able to DP -> FADC, TK Air Super for damageā¦ making him even more deadly (and heās already deadly enough). It would be used for chip and also as a more skill-based Ultra combo than just DP -> FADC, Ultra (Ryu, Sagat). Heād probably end up being able to do QCB+LK, TK QCF,QCF+P as well (and maybe some options in the corner).
Iām sure they will change some of his properties, most likely nerfing him in unimaginable ways. However, realisticallyā¦ he needs no changes.

Yeah I think Akuma with a stun Hadoken would mess people up. Denjin would be awesome but I meanā¦ if you ate one combo and he hit you with that on your wake up youād be stunned more than likely. Match would be more or less over at that point
