I seen this thread in other characters so I wanted to make one for Akuma. Now knowing that there are a lot of Akuma players in here I would like to know what you guys(individually) would like for Akuma to be fix, tweak, and/or added in the next SFIV Dash?
Now since there is a rumor that each character will have 2 ultra’s I personally would like to have either the Misogi or the Kongo Kokuretsu Zan as his other ultra. Also a little extra health wouldn’t be bad either. So what’s your opinion in this.
BTW I looked in this forum and I didn’t see a topic about this.
I really don’t wanna think about Dash rumours with this. On top of the balance implications of everyone having two Ultra’s, you’ve got a cast increase of 40% all in one shot. All foreseeable balance suggestions to the current cast become redundant with those additions and the potential match-up situations they create.
Only route I can see them making this work with is the Tekken 6 route where they spend at least a year with it at a pseudo Beta stage in Japanese arcades with regular patches to keep everything in order and gradually make the gameplay more solid.
For the current state of the game, I’m happy with the balance of Akuma (with the exception of his knockdown and mixup game, perhaps) and don’t like the idea of anything being weakened. If the lower cast get an increased ability to compete, then there doesn’t really need to be anything changed with him.
I feel overall walk speeds should be faster in the next game, and stages a bit smaller. SF4 works well at its times, but is also prone to seeming counter-initiative.
Other than KKZ, probably very little to no changes.
Akuma is quite possibly the most balanced high tier character in SF history. He’s not easy to use. Nothing for him is free and all his good pressure revolves around mix up, which can be nullified by a correct guess.
Ryu and possibly Ken could have okizeme games pretty close to Akuma’s level if they too could combo into sweep from their cross tatsus. If you take off that one thing from Akuma (sweep from LK Tatsu wouldn’t be neccessary to remove) then he’s quite ideal IMO.
needs a command throw ala gief or abel. needs the ultra from cvs where he falls from the sky with the elbow or the sf3ts ultra where he slams the ground with those spikes coming out. also instead of 2 ultras, it would have been better if everybody had at least 2 supers.
Well rumors or not people still look into it and as far as doing it like tekken 6 well its going to be release in arcades first in japan then later in consoles. Also with a 40% increase in characters I must say Capcom had to be working on this new SFIV before or a little after it was release in FEB 09.
In my opinion even with the 40% they still will have time to “fix” or tweak every character in SFIV. I also think Akuma shouldn’t have a super RD and they should change it to either Misogi or Kongo Kokuretsu Zan but then again its my opinion.
its 2 ultras and 1 super right? Cuz out of most of the sf4 original cast, i feel akuma is strong in the sense that he does not need to rely on any meter to do serious dmg or mixups.
I’d be down with an Ultra Hadoken or Shoryuken. Something he can combo into. With the RD as it is now, you basicly have to hope your opponent is retarded and takes the bait for your AA Ultra, RH whiff Ultra or that kinda thing. Of course, outside of that is the FA into Demon but that doesn’t really count. I’d like to see something he could FADC into or hitconfirm into a Metsu Shoryuken or some crap. His KKZ from 3S would be bad ass too, so long as you could FADC into it. Otherwise it’s just another AA Ultra and the Demon does that job and then some.
Ooooh yeah, Ultra air fireballs or something would be bad ass as well. Didn’t think of that, but you couldn’t really combo into that. Metsu Tatsu would be interesting as well.
