Japan still sees Dee Jay as a joke character. smh I don’t get what we did to get put into that category. At least there will be a localization test. I guess it’s time for me to take another trip to Japan; wanna go back to Japan and wreck get wrecked in the arcades willpowder?
I think they only showcased 3 changes per character, there is still more apparently. I am really hoping for the 4 frame cr.lk, really sick of always seeing someone throwing me even with my foot already stuck out. I mean who the hell else has a 5 frame crouching light kick? Most of them are 3 frames for god’s sake.
seth does, but his is +1/+4
viper has the same frame data on her cr. lk
sagat +3/+6
Don’t forget Abel and El Fuerte. They’re both 5 frames. Except El Fuerte can special cancel his into his run stop and he’s super safe on block/hit: +3/+6. Abel is only +1/+4 so he has to either go for cr lk chain into standing lk or try for a 1 frame close standing fierce that only works on some of the cast if they are crouching. Gen also has a 5 fame cr lk that’s -8 on block in crane stance but that’s because it launches and serves a different purpose.
Still, we got the short end of the stick.
Far st.hp is only going to be decent if they modify the hurtbox so that it stops trading with evertying. I am looking forward to the rest of the changes. Let’s see if they actually took any of the suggestions or is it going to be Russian Rulet again.
far st hp is going to still be ass because the hitboxes are too small and almost useless.
deejay needs more chargeless damage, well at least i’d like more.
Okay, so Seth, C. Viper, Sagat, Abel and El Fuerte. Out of these, only one is a defensive character like Deejay, and even then he has an invincible uppercut which goes into Ultra.
2 have command grabs, and the other 2 spend a lot of time flying through the air. Yeah I would say we really got the short end of the stick. I mean we really just took the stick, passed it to our opponent so he could beat our ass with it.
these situational punishes are NOT what deejay needs. He needs consistency, this is going in the opposite direction.
Punishes are not what DeeJay is lacking anyway. cr.mp xx machine upper is a good damage punish for wiffed srks, his juggle anti airs are awesome, and FADC combos can get you in the 400 damage range…
I still think capcom has no idea how to improve him.
give moves better hitboxes/frame data
make instant kneeshot hit crouchers
improve throw range
make ex sobat faster or make ex upkicks hit crouchers so he’s not free to meaties
simple changes would fix so much.
The only change that looked useful was the U1 buff. All that other stuff looked like shiny that does jack shit for his bad matches but would be great for Desk videos. The hit box on the st. HP was so disrespectful to watch. People laughing at the fact that somebody was “missing” and not how shitty the hit box is saddens me.
You should see how many Fei Longs are crying over the cr lk and rekka range nerfs. Capcom loves their top tier, there’s no way those two nerfs will stand. There’s also the fact that there are new characters. They aren’t going to be “balanced and ready to win a tournament” right out of the box. I think we’ll have one more rebalancing after this one. That’s just my thought though.
lol The Cody players are getting other knife “buff” and are’t too happy about it.
I was thinking the something, it’s the reason I didn’t want new characters. I was hopping for the next version of st4 to be the last but I guess that’s not going to happen.
Capcom are really milking it this time.
New characters are going to be ASS, cheap or untapped.
pick your poison. get ready for one last balance update.
Im surprised no deejay player at EVO didn’t go up to combofiend as just say “What the hell was that for DeeJay?!!” Combofiend knows it’s shit everyone knows it’s shit, he only cares about Oni and Makoto.
He prolly would give some BS answer like “Just wait a lil more there is more “good things” to come for him” And they’ll be like “what were the first “good things” to change him. -_-”
What do you guys think about a 3 frame crouching jab? Is it too far fetched?
Sure we got a 3 frame standing jab, but it has terrible range.
far standing jab is godlike. It’s a decent AA and can beat out a lot of stuff! Close st jab is a good punish tool against quick recovery moves like abels wheel kick!
Close stand jab is my most used move, it keeps good pressure, you can use it as a pseudo frame trap due to the small pushback on block (cl st.lp, wait/walk a bit, cl st.lp into tick throw or hit confirm into cr jab and cr.mk for knockdown.) Loses to stand tech though. If it werent for our excellent movespeed it would be close to useless.
Don’t forget guy
Heres a random 2013 change for deejay I was thinking about at work a new move called happy maracas. Cost one ex bar but gives the next ex sobat crumple properties. Can be followed up by a full U1 or U2.
