ive heard a couple people recently, claiming he could only be used offensivly. even though before super came out most people claimed he was not an “all rush down” character.
i think Adon is pretty flexible and as long as you have the life lead, or have a plan to obtain the life lead, playing defense sounds perfectly viable(depending). but you do have to keep in mind he has sub par health, so getting that life lead is pretty vital to maintain pressure without being offensive.
when i play Adon i try to mix up all elements, offense and defense. depends on the situation you are in, EX meter, etc. like i said Adon is pretty flexible imo.
I can see the possibility of playing defensively since defensive elements really show in the zangief match up, but not a tactic to rely on with everyone else.

How vital is the Instant air jag kick? I feel like his game is more about fuzzy guard and ambig cross ups for pressure and maintaining that pressure by cutting off no hitters into hk jag kick. If I get the hits I go to Rising jaguar.
Usually I fish with cr lk or cr mp. Definitely feel it is easier to hit confirm from lk to lk rising as opposed to cr mp to lk rising.
Since im still learning him I use lk jag for everything because it comes out a frame faster. Even for FADC ultra you only lose like 30 dmg. I’d rather have a better hit confirm, safer attack if i mess up and lose 30 dmg then a MK jag.
Quick and short of my thought process: HK jag=AA and LK jag=everything else.
Also, I think putting Alex Valles tutorial on the first post is a great idea too. I thought that was more useful actually than the option select video because he covers certain things OS video did not cover.
The os video IMO covered the basics which you could easily just run and ask someone on the boards and learn in four seconds.
Hate to be the annoying new Adon player but Super preference? I usually just do the rapid punch one because its safer and the dmg difference between the three of them is like 70 tops I believe. Plus, seeing the end to the kick one and knowing I can’t combo after is depressing. Try playing Juri and then do that super. It hurts your eyes…
The super, I just use punch
if it gets blocked, punch. If a charge character blocks it, i go with kicks since Adon will end up on the other side and kill their charge.

I usually always you the assassin ender. It scales better. I usually never do more than two hits before hit confirming the super but i’d rather play it safe.
You should be using mk RJ for FADC’s. mk.RJ~mk.RJ does 230. mk.RJ~s.RH does 170.
And I don’t know how safe it is to whiff the super to land on the other side…
Hey everyone quick question…Vega match up…what’s up with that?
This is the one match up that i don’t know but one can tell that it makes a colossal diffrence…I just have no idea on how get around, away, and punish the vega tactics…
Any help on that would be appreciated :]!
Vegas tend to be very poke happy and his main poke (cr. mp), 95% sure it comes out faster than adons st. high kick so its hard to keep Vega on lockdown without him lunging out that huge poke. Jump back mp, jump back hp, neutral jump hp; all 3 are good for knocking him out of Flying Barcelona Attack, but be weary of EX-FBA though.
Take advantage of vegas piss poor wake up game and punish his backflips.
Yeah, even if it gets blocked you can usually stay out of trouble if you use the punch ender.

Is there a shortcut or something to do nj.mk xx air jk? I can do it fine if I hit the nj.mk on the way down, but I’m having a lot of trouble hitting it on the way up.
Also is there a thread with a list of things that whiff with Adon?

Doing nj.mk xx air jk on the way up is likely a 1 frame link because the nj.mk gotta hit a very specific spot air JK to combo. Even doing nj.mk xx air jk on the way down, it takes timing to get the air jk to combo. It’s not worth using and the only Adon I’ve seen pull it off consistently is gamerbee.
Ah yeh, I can get it to combo on the way down fairly regularly. I just have trouble getting the air jk to come out at all when I try hit it on the way up =/
Is there a trick to it? or do you just have to do it hella quick?
I’m pretty sure that getting aJK to combo off a rising nj.mk is character dependent. I can get this to combo on dudley pretty much every time, but I don’t know who else it works on. You can even combo an iAJK to rising jaguar on dudley without a normal cancel in between.
Just learnt Ibuki can command grab Adon’s Jagga tooth, WTF!
Everything can grab JT on startup. Did you mean in the way down? The “grab” can actually juggle and JT hitbox is shitty so it’s not that surprising. Normal JT’s are useless 90% of the time HK can be beat esily by normals, and the classic bait with LK doesn’t really work, LK yoes too far to punish DPs etc (not that they have any reason to DP anyway) and MK lands too close. EX JT has a few specific uses but overall it’s better you don’t do it if you don’t know exactly why you’re doing it.
Yeah ibuki can fucking snatch Adon right out of the air with Raida grab. Jaguar Tooth is useful though in the ibuki match up (surprising its useful for someone!)
If Ibuki is doing jump back kunais to keep you out; AFTER she throws the kunai, HK jaguar tooth. I’m not sure on the kunais recovery or Ibuki players think kunai will stop adon, but it hits damn near EVERY time. As soon as she lands, your foot meets her dumb face.
haha thats handy to know, i have a friend who plays ibuki alot and once he gets a small life lead he starts doing that for a short time until he had meter
Yeah this happened to me too. I got ex command grabbed out of tooth. I’m thinking all ex command grabs can beat tooth not just ibuki’s.
