you will never become good or great by relying on inconsistent tactics. which, im sorry kraiden, includes FS vs jumpins. And people shouldnt give a sit about the bell curve. They should give a shit about the best answers for any given situation, vs scrubs and good players alike.
isucklikehell, just in case you were curious, I don’t and I doubt any other good abel negative edges any moves with abel. So get used to just tapping the buttons so that you can input your motions without accidentally negative edging unwanted moves.
Oh really? I’ve never found a real use for it because none of his moves have to be cancelled all that quickly anyways. For such a combo heavy character, I always found it surprising that the inputs for his combos are actually slower than most of the rest of the cast and therefore, never found a need to negative edge.
I’m interested HAV, what moves do you negative edge and why?
Ya. That’s what I’m confused about. HAV is sounding like he does stuff like fp (hold) -> qcf+release fp to negative edge it, but that’s just giving yourself 1 chance at hitting the correct frame as opposed to the 2 you would get from pressing fp (tap) -> qcf+fp (tap). I find that all of abel’s links and combos are slow enough that you can easily press each button, giving yourself 2 chances (push and negative edge) to hit a correct frame in order to complete the combo.
I’m not great at the game, and this is the first sf game i’ve actually taken time to get good at, so i am genuinely interested in why HAV says he negative edges stuff all the time.

I don’t know, the weird thing is, I really don’t feel like I was holding down HP at all. I haven’t played since I found out what Negative Edge is yet, but I always thought I was just tapping the HP. I do hold down though. I don’t know if that has anything to do with it.
