I’ve never relied on my execution because it’s shit-fucking-beyond-terrible-awful-garbage, but with Abel, even i’m abel to do cr.fp shenanigans on reaction.
If you’re having trouble with something, keep doing it. It’s the only way to learn. Giving up and saying “it’s too hard” won’t get you anywhere. One day it will just snap into place.
Tick throw is throwing out a move (usually a normal), and then throwing/command throwing them just out of blockstun. Abel’s most common tick throw thrown into a blockstring is usually
f+mk --> c.lp c.lp --> command throw.
crossup mk --> command throw
As you can see from those two, the idea is to keep people blocking because they think another hit is coming, but you actually wait a fraction of a second, then throw them.
Im annoying because I dont agree with you? very mature.
Canceling the 2nd hit dosent always work for me, i practice but it never happens live and i even can mess it up in training to be honest…
I guess I need someone to walk me through it… and the rest of the abel comunity too thats not elite. because I see alot of videos where people get poped up and not grabed with fierce falling sky.
i pretty much never fail ex falling sky after popup, and it dosent require a cancel which is why i suggested for him to continue using it.
we can agree to disagree.
I also use CFP into rekka while everyone else uses Cmed punch into rekka… why?
i do mine because I play with a pad and do not have med punch on my controler… whats the reason why people dont do CFP into reka then if it does more damage??
It’s slightly faster, and it does the same damage as cr.mp if you cancel into Change of Direction. There’s a 5 damage difference between fp CoD and mp CoD. If all other things were equal, then you would use cr.fp for the free damage, but cr.mp is 1 frame faster and a lot better on block. Off a crossup, cr.mp will combo a lot more than cr.fp. But the big deal is that it’s completely safe on block. You’re +1 frames. This actually gives you a chance to tick lp Tornado Throw.
damn thats some elite shit… didnt know about all that… thanks
but still. its the opposite of my argument for light punch and EX falling sky after popup
5 points seperate the damage and for light, and damage is same for EX… you dont need to cancel into them and stun is the only other factor…
I have nothing against you dude and i’m sure you’re a great guy but most often when you post here it derails topics alot. It would be good to lurk a little. Read some of the past threads. People here work hard to provide good information. I think it’s also important for other users to work hard to find that information.
As far as these combos go you should really just go into training mode and practice it to the point where you don’t miss in training mode anymore. Execution is key. I’ve found that when i’m playing better players there aren’t as many chances to punish so you need to take those opportunities when they’re presented. Step up your game so you don’t have to keep on calling yourself a “slightly below average player” (or whatever it is that you say)
the thing about this is your wasting meter. imo meter is very important for abel. you dont wanna be caught without meter because when ppl see that i have no meter, they take advantage of that. they know that my options are even more limited etc. if i waste meter on doing ex falling sky when it really isnt hard at all (dont know why you are strugglin just gotta practice more) to cancel the 2nd hit into fierce falling sky and instead of wasting meter you gain meter and its better than using ex. on top of that you can even cr.fp roll fierce falling sky and it really isnt hard at all also. if you can cr.fp cancel into roll you can cr.fp cancel into falling sky. dont see a problem here and lets just drop it from here… this is a video thread, wanna continue this conversation? bring it to another thread to keep this one on topic.
Here’s my 2 cents after watching the sagat match. Stop randomly throwing out c.fp. It’s not safe on block. And why after all the attempts, when you blocked his shoryuken twice and had actual good chances to use c.fp into ultra, did you do tornado throw? If anything, every time you did c.fp you should have been doing TT and every time you did TT you should have done c.fp.
cuz tornado throw is the highest damage i can do outside of an ultra.
the whole popup into ultra thing is kinda risky and i might miss ><
i love TT its pretty
but when you see me doign crFP (like @1:01 and 1:06… and 1:34, 2:38, 3:07 and even though it would have been a mistake… at 3:20 ) its me TRYING to do rekka… and it not working. (yes im that bad)
I’d suggest you atleast get a 6 button pad – IMO, street fighter on a 4 button pad can seriously lick my nuts – I’d rather not play street fighter AT ALL than play on a ps3/xbox controller. They’re not expensive – I bought a cheap Saitek P880 thing which works on the PS3, not sure about xbox though. I can tell just by watching those vids that you’re greatly in need of a cr.mp and some decent time in the training room working on execution. cr.fp xx fp. falling sky is not hard. cr.fp -> ultra is not hard. I learnt how to do ryu/ken’s bnb in super street fighter when I was 6 years old. It took 10 minutes. Seriously.
Umm no SUper streetfighter came out when we were in college… not when you were six. hell nintendo wasnt even invented when we were six
yeah I would guess playing on a 6 button stick, and not playing on a wireless modem with 2 bars every fight…** MAY** make a slight difference in my fights
Well considering i’m only 22 it’s not that out of the ordinary – It was released in october 93, I started playing on Mega Drive (Genesis ?) when hyper fighting was released – so I was off by a year or two
