well if you know the timing, something we should all learn in training mode, you can ultra the PPP back flips. not sure about the KKK back flip. also i mean just dash with him and dont go for the command throw if you think it will whiff, go with a normal or you can go with f+mk. if he does back flip again sure he is just getting himself closer in the corner. also for the vega players you should play. either play that one you lost too, find a local good vega player so there wont be lag or w/e. i could suggest a vega player but the fact that he is in socal, it will jsut be lag and wont be fun for both players.

lol no i dont play at the same arcade as him. i am a denjinite (Denjin Arcade) he plays at Arcade Infinity. Stop fuckin mashing, stop throwing out random moves that it won’t hit from a far, stop finishing your damn rekkas if the Vega keeps back dashing, learn to block dammit.
Too many people using unsafe punishable moves especially the rekkas & too much reliance on your opponents letting you off the hook
No use of light jabs & shorts which is absolutely essential to being effective with abel,
you cannot force your opponent into making mistakes without these, for me his mix up game begins & ends with these
The beauty with abel as a character is his simplicity, because most of his moves are slow interupting moves is almost impossible so don’t try, learn to block your opponents moves & to tech throws. If your opponent tries to rush you down & you block all his attacks he only has the throw option left if you can tech throws consistently you are negating most of their options for causing you damage.
Most of the abels in these vids are too static, you have to play agressive but don’t rushdown, know when to block & how to block, get close & start his mix up game put the fear into them & they will make mistakes then it’s combo time.
It’s amazing how much easier it is to take people down if you have a solid defense & have the ability to apply pressure without being reckless.
Learn to read your opponent, make them fight your fight, abel has minuses but in the right hands i honestly don’t think it matters, sure you have to work hard but if you apply a decent strategy & concentrate on his positives like his stamina, Ultra, tt throw & a couple of really useful EX moves he can be a nightmare to your opponent.
this is just my take on abel how i play him & is not meant as a criticism of the abels in the vids

my stick is a ps3 one, i got a 360. my bro bought me this stick just so i can have a stick and these madcatz sticks are hard to find now (its the SE one). thats why. i fucking hate playing on pad and i mean really playing on pad will ruin my game. ive played on pad a bit before and it messed up my game a bit at teh most recent tourney i went to. thats why i decided to never play on pad again and im waiting for my stick to be done.
ok now i see your point. your an arcade legend… so if play pad it will make you all messed up. but wont playing xbox version with the new charachters and few ballance changes they have made mess you up as well?
and is there such thing as a xbox controler with the 6 bottons on the front? not only can i not buy a stick … but even if i did have 160 extra dollars i would not invest it in a controler i will only use for one game… and lord knows how long sf4 will remain “hot” before the next fad comes out.

they have gone from $36 a share down to $15 last month. i figure they cant get much worse with 2 low cost titles having monster sales (resident evil sf4 MCV2)
dont sleep on video game stock. I got changyou.com (chineese rpg host) at $16 per share and now its at 30… my wife and i have 70 shares… and no im not gonna sell it to buy a stick.
my stick cost 70 bucks, and i have hook ups for parts and stuff so it will not cost me 160, well under it i would say. i am not an arcade legend hah but i guess that was sarcasm? i am still relatively new to the arcade/fighting game scene and dont have much under my belt if you will. i just prefer arcade over this. as of right now abel doesnt seem to have any changes. i mean for the most part no, playing console has not messed me up since i use only abel atm.
edit: there is such a controller, its the sf4 madcatz fightpad. those seem pretty hard to find right now too. i would check gamestop and best buy if you are looking to buy one. seems like they are all gone though.
Luckily I got my SE stick for $50. Reduced price at Fry’s, and friend’s employee discount.
Busta, if you’re in need of a stick I have several I could probably mod for you. Most of them are PS3 though, but I could probably ditch the PCB and switch to X360, or dual-mod for money.

Busta, if you have any friends in Japan, you should do what I did and get them to buy you a Hori Real Arcade Pro for about $100. Nice and big with good weight to it and it has the same stick as the ones in the arcade. You can also get your friend to buy some Sanwa buttons for about $30 which are relatively easy to install, then you’ll have the same buttons as the arcade as well. Keep in mind tho that it’s a good 5 lbs and huge, so shipping may cost ya. I had a vacation in Japan, so I just picked mine up from my friend.
You guys shouldn’t rag on Busta for not wanting to make videos of him playing on pad. He constantly does abel’s 1 frame link when he plays, and he pretty much needs it at high level play. Trying to do that kind of stuff on mushy 360 pad triggers will just be plain inconsistent. And those madcatz pads are a waste of money imo.
Wait for a working stick Busta. The MadCatz TE sticks are great, but everyone knows the availability problems. If you get a HRAP EX2 and swap out the buttons, it’s about the same thing and it’s a lot easier to get if you know someone living in Japan. I recommend it because that MadCatz SE stick has a small base and might shift around while you try and play.
ya i know, money is the issue though hah. once i mod out the parts it will be better. my only complaint is that the SE is too light. but i play on my lap and hopefully it wont move around too much. maybe i can somehow mod it so it can be heavier too but as of now im gonna work with what i got.
