awww too bad he lost

a rematch?
not bad. i still must say i see more âepicâ things out of bustabus and strider.
but this guy does the basics well.
This time around I have 3 G2 finals.

g2 finals?
HAHAHHAHA
well, after having fun in g3 and thinking i was actually a decent player. I am now in G2 as well and have won ONE first round match up.
i think g2-e must be exactly where i belong. i have not come close to a final and pretty much dont think i ever will. i am too sloppy, to slow and my anti throw game is just not good enough to not get thrown 6 times a match and jab+grabed to death.
I like g2 because you dont run into misranked players. like someone with 2grade points who pulls off diagos rushing fadc corner move with ryu and stuff. but i also dont win any match ups. I guess this pretty much ends me making videos since theres nothing to see other than me getting my ass kicked by throws and blocking all the time
im going to the east coast throw down this weekend though.

this match, by far, does not show anything beast or epic, but it was my last g3 match before ranking up to g2, and i had a pretty nice comeback in the second round (definitely taught that guy not to give abel a chance). i also learned standing lk and lk wheelkick are good tools to use against medium kick happy kens, but watch out for dpâs of course. and above all, patience is key.
A couple things:
[]Donât do Change of Direction followups versus shotos. They just uppercut you. Stop after the first one and hope they donât reversal shoryu you. I like to do a tick throw after a CoD on block (or hit even), it surprises people. Usually you shouldnât try the last hit on anyone, especially if they start focusing the second one.
[]HK Wheel Kick is a big risk versus Ryu. Unless it hits pretty meaty, he can just reversal shoryu or ultra you on block.
[]Off a crossup, I usually go for the cr.mp xx CoD instead of a blockstring especially if the crossup hits.
[]Almost never cancel a blocked sweep into HK Wheel kick. Usually you should do LK or EX because theyâre the safest and fastest.

You gotta be real careful jumping versus a good Rufus because you could eat target combo -> ultra/EX Viper Strike.
Note that Iâm assuming for a lot of these that your opponents know how to beat Abel, but you need to be careful not to develop bad habits for those fights against people that do know the matchup. For example, I donât even try that hard to get that ultra through fireballs versus good players. I know that they arenât gonna be a moron, so I donât usually waste my time buffering ultra unless they press their luck. Otherwise they will jump in on me and Iâll have to block because I was focused on the potential fireball.
Sweet thanks for the advice. Whats funny is when I watched the Rufus match I was thinking âWhy the fuck am I jumping?â I kinda melt down when he gets in close doing those damn dive kicks. I just donât know what to do. I have definitely been getting schooled with DPâs during CoD. I gotta stop mashing during CoD. I was back there thinking of what to do and Ryu tossed a fireball. Ended up just twitching out an ultra.
Dont call it a comeback!!!

my very first string of g2 wins results in 3 upsets in a row and my restored confidence in my charachter and his ABELity.
this was a huge upset and an 86 mets like rally at the 25% life mark of round 1.
i switched up from being a highly passive abel to being borderline kamakazi in my approach.
as my head swelled and ego grew my game and execution seemed to grow by leaps and bounds. I only missed one execution in th whole 2nd half of the fight (before his ultra i missed the HP falling sky)
i will upload more fights after this one
Kraiden, well gg lol (still shocked by the commentry).
One question though in that match that seemed apparent to me:
Why didnât you roll through the fireballs?
Hey I was a gamer before I was a reporter. I cant be all PQ and melancholy all the time
sometimes i get excited and the âjersey comes out.â so i sound like a wierd cross between DMX and tony sopranno
as to why i dont roll thu fireballs? I get frozen and cant react when i am being overly cautious. its safer to block i guess? i really dont have an answer.
Good job fellas. You guys are an inspiration. I have yet to win a single final, I just make it to the semis then choke.
I am really supposed to still be in G3-E but I lost my way up to D, which I donât think should have happened stupid Capcom. I am too inconsistent, sometimes I pull off some psychic ass shit but othertimes I jump into random air ex tatsuâs and roll right into fbâs, oh and gettin s. rh to death by a Bison, I was stupidly trying to sweep the whole time.
Proof that I am NOT pro, against Boxer

Verus boxer, EX TT beats every rush punch and is easy to do. You can ultra most of them as well.
Donât rely on the full-screen ultra through the fireball against ryu. You canât catch every one, and you will get baited if you just stay on the other side of the screen. Itâs good to do if you can catch him on it on reaction, but the risk of losing your ultra is not worth playing the âAm I really throwing a fireballâ game.
Roll/dash/walk your way into mid range, and then slowly work your way into a spot where you can get into a blockstring or cross him up. Do not jump in at ryu, ever. Jumping in at Ryu gives him a free ultra. And yeah, you cannot use Change of Direction as a poke versus shotos. It gives them a free shoryu.
Blockstrings are your friends. Crouching jab is one of your most important normals as Abel. cr.lp x2 -> Tornado Throw will work wonders.
No matter your playstyle, you do not want to be a full screen away from the opponent as Abel (except maybe against Gief). Otherwise you have no attack options and your opponent likely has better options. You need to at least get into mid range to deal damage and be a threat.
i didnt watch the vids but once you have the life lead, depending on which characters staying full screen can work. you dont want to chase the other player since that can lead to a massive combo and punishing you for trying to get in. you never rely on full screen ultra, you do it on reaction. plus if you have the life lead against ryu or a shoto of some sort staying full screen is nice. why? you have ultra, he cant stay there the whole time because he will lose, if he throws a fireball react with ultra, etc etc
oh btw those matches of me at the tourney are up⌠Ill link em here in a sec.
I wasnt too proud of my performance cause I hadnt eater all day , and they kept calling me up⌠and I jsut wanted some damn food.
I went 2-2 , lots a vega and a rufus. The vega player is a pro player here in the midwest.
(Ill edit this post later with the matches.)
lol fat boy. Give this guy a samich. When I play sf my hunger takes a backseat.
try not eating for 2 days and running the tournament. stressed the fuck out and i was starving. ugh i couldve done way better in the last denjin ranbat, missed a lot of stuff but im not complainin. 5th place our of about 50 heh. its hard playing on an empty stomach.
Dude I bet and for someone like me , who is always hungry⌠this was bad.
Vs. A Chun Player

Vs. Immortal/Vega (Vega) (He goes by both names)

critique is accepted
here is just me just saying stuff cuz this is how i am after i watch things hah. i always say stuff about things afterwards. that chun player, kinda stupid he didnt really hit confirm ex legs at times, he would just waste meter. he would do it randomly too it seems. also he did that aerial combo on block⌠doesnt even hit confirm. not taking your win away just stating some stuff since i play a chun player a lot or used too and i usually compare them to the player i play.
now on to that vega match, you never punished wall dives, you used ex rekkas too much also you couldve had a chance to win, at the end he did the flip kick and you did ex rekka when you couldâve cr.fp ultra instead but he did black flips. i mean that vega player was bound to wall dive, whether he whiffed or you blocked you can punish with ultra or at least punish with something. he obviously likes to do back flips on wake up or at certain times, dash with him make him not want to do the back flips anymore. make him want to think twice about doing it. it seems liek you dont know the vega match up to well. im just gonna stop lol. just wanted to give my 2cents to the vids i just watched.
No the chun sucked I know that. I was just doing random stuff on him. After I saw I won the firstmatch.
well its cool , I asked for the critique⌠Im trying to learn the vega matchup better.
I dont know what to do against him doing backflips. I tried to dash in and TT. but it whiffed.
Yeah I dont know how to fight a good vega at all. Thats prolly the first good vega ive fought. Know any good vegas I should play? or anyone for that matter.
yeah thanks for the comment.
