Yea that’s a sure thing. T.Hawk can change his jump trajectory to avoid U2 and you can punish the same way from U1 or U2 if you block or make him whiff a move. Plus U1 combos and deals more damage.

I thought I was over the whole being-nervous-at-a-tournament phase, apparently not. I wasn’t hit confirming my step kick, my safe jumps weren’t safe, and I was trying to do some risky things at the last round. Ah, oh well. There were so many mistakes I had that night (our whole team in general was a bit off; Hugo101 kept getting his worst matchups in the beginning). The event was fun though. When I beat James Chen, he didn’t know he picked U2 until after the first round… lol.

Could not touch that guy… Mago, Daigo, Air got rounds off all of them but not matches. So crazy playing those guys!!

Im not sure about the os grab/spd thing because I havent tested that plus to be honest its been a really long while since I last saw any abel used armor cancelled moves so I kinda forgot about their existence lol…
As for the move itself, I just went into training mode and did armored ex roll against ryu meaty wakeup j.hk (into blockstring/ os shoryu) and somehow managed to pull it off plenty of times easily(kinda) but then when I rerecorded the cpu, with a slightly different timing of the j.hk, and it seems harder to get the ex roll to come out. I guess its the kind of moves that has its uses but in a real match I just dont feel confident enough to pull it off. :shrugs:

The armor cancel ex roll does negate OSs. It’s like when Balrog/Boxer uses EX rush punch on wakeup except this is harder to execute.
yeah, one can possibly react to it, but more often than not your opponent will be surprised. heh =p

In that clip I was pretty much dominating Daigo, and I then I made a crucial mistake, I underestimated his reactions. If you can see, he was clearly baiting me into committing to a EX.Wheel kick by recklessly throwing fireballs in a unsafe range. I bit the bait and ex.wheel kicked his shit only to meet a perfectly timed mp.srk. If I would’ve just chilled and lk’d him it could’ve been different.
The fact that the announcers were on your ass for not committing to a move that is easily reacted to and vs a player who would’ve punished it without a doubt is retarded. Yes, I’m giving shit to your brother for his stupid commentary that match. If you somehow did do a EX.WK and somehow clipped him, you know it would’ve been complete luck as you are basically hoping he doesn’t react in time, but you did the right thing and left nothing to chance.
