I dunno man, I see a lot of robin and piko video’s from ShinAkuma’s vid’s on youtube…does anyone really rate robin as higher then Ryder? Shiro will always be my (bias) favorite just because of the way he thinks with abel. Ryder made a lot of execution mistakes against momo at SB because of the pressure set against him. However, he did better then JB imo. And Juicebox loves to backdash and he got read easily against his matchups because of it.
But to answer your question, I think it’s a toss up. Ryder is great, but can you put him above Shiro? I don’t think so.
No Abel in the world is really lighting anyone up it seems. Hard to say who is the best imo. I wish I could see more recent footage of Shiro to see how hes progressed.
I think Ryder is the best Abel in the country, pretty easily.
As far as the world… it’s hard to say. No Japanese Abel has done anything in Super yet, so it’s hard to really gauge. Apparently, Abel doesn’t exist in Europe.
I always rate Shiro up there, and I’d love to see what AC is up to.
Come on now combofiend? When was he ever the best Abel. I think your confusing you self with how “good” he was and how he toke advantage of abel’s mix up’s etc when the game came out and it was new to every1. A player like shiro or robin actually think when they play and analyze spacing for AA’s or poke advantages.
well i was talking about the u.s not japan because no new vids of shiro are up so i cant say anything about him and i have no idea what japanese abel are up to nowadays since i dont watch vids that much ryder is up there too probably number one but i have wc bias lol
im in japan and even i dont really know any abel mainers in super (personally that is), ive been to quite a few offline gatherings and usually im the only one rocking abel. :shrugs:
ive been slumping lately, losing more than winning on rank, though sometimes its because lately psn been lagging randomly and it just kills my mood playing a lag match, sure its an excuse but fuck that i dont wanna get used to the lag. maybe time to get an xbox… sigh
i think that Ryder is the best in the world RIGHT NOW…even though JBA did better than him at SB5. The way JBA uses st.hp as AA so consistent is godlike though. Ryders execution is sick, he just cracked against momochi. Shiro dont play much I think, hes only got 300 matches on psn or something…and if u watch his match against an online ibuki, u can clearly see he hasnt been praccin the new match ups. When AE hits Japan, its gonna be a different story.
I rate Ryder as the best in the world NOW but I also think it will change when AE comes out Shiro and AC have fell off the map but they will probably come back and then we can accurately judge
I don’t think Robin is better than Ryder from what I’ve seen
After seeing Robin recently, I would say he’s maybe just a level above Ryder, he pretty much brushed aside uryos chun, that was a masterclass, and it all looked so simple. If Ryder could keep his head more often he’d be right up there, but, i dunno, these japanese guys have a different understanding of Abel than anyone else, i feel
Also great Shiro vid, he really showed the sagat match as being easier than in Vanilla, the guys a pleasure to watch
Fought an alright Gouki the other day, sure he’s not Tokido, in ways that his okizeme werent as scary(plus he didnt always go for the hard knockdowns), dropping links/combos (jabs to sweep) here and there. I think I won 10 out of 12 sets we played, though I admit that I missed quite a few opportunities to punish his sweep with U2. Just thought Id get some feedback on maybe a few things I can improve on? Or maybe some things that are bad habits/predictable stuff that will almost surely gets punished by a better opponent.

I had time only to record 8 of the matches, ill try to watch the rest and see maybe if they are worth uploading or just about the same stuff.
oh and he did get a little bit predictable(at least to me), and I think besides punishin sweep with U2, I missed quite a few opp to use AA cl.st.hp, despite was realizing that its the right time to do so (blame it on slow reflex)
