its a seriously hype combo and you gotta take the guaranteed win when you can. vs gouken you have to be careful tho. I found out the other day your ultra can go underneath him if you do it too soon after the CoD FADC.

I dont fear balrogs, but u can always improve. So a few notes I took, is that I need to block or just grab the overheads, geez I suck. And I also need to do something about the random dash punches(2nd match), any tips against that would be great, or if you could point out something else in my game that I didnt notice.
against that boxer you proly should utilize ex CoD a little bit more(can deal with his st.hk and even dash punches - except the one that, you know, breaks armor lol), sometimes i find you sittin on a full meter for too long but maybe thats just me. also follow up better after a successful j.mk crossup with anythin that can be combo’d into CoD(st.mp/hp etc)… instead of going for cr.lk strings all the time… i make the same kind of mistakes too, i guess its reflex + habit… as for the “random” dash punches, just walk and block, jump if necessary or just jab him out of it(sure its risky and easier said than done)… and i think you missed quite a few breathless opportunities. boxer cant do much after he already jumped, so always be ready to breathless (for example at 3:17)

tnx for the tips, ill keep that in mind. As for the cross up block string I expect them to block, and if you go for cod, and they block it I belive they can punich with jab, and u know what that leads to, but im not ssure about the jab punish though lol
thats why i said reflex + habit = got used to expectin them to block and not good enough reflex to react when you see the j.mk hit instead of blocked.
im just sayin that maybe with enough trainin, instead of expectin every j.mk to be blocked, maybe you can react when you see it hits and follow with a st.mp/hp etc or something instead of always going for cr.lk strings. thats all. again like i said, i have this same problem too.

Its not necessarily bad to play abel that way, you just have to push them to the point where they are willing to throw risky shit out, and the only way to do that is to take some risks yourself.
If you see they respect you too much and refuse to do risky shit, then just go crazy on their wake-up untill they can’t take it. If you play abel long enough, you develop a sixth-sense, you KNOW when they are gonna mash something out, and that’s when you punish badly and mind-fuck them.
the best is when you scout the desperate DP FADC attempt and roll through it to get a free huge punish
