I know he was at Super Battle Opera but I don’t think his team did very well, hopefully we’ll see him a lot more when the Arcade Edition comes out, especially since there might be a replay option or something.

Awful stuff, all you do is hold db all day and using jump or roll to move forward. Beating scrubs online with unsafe stuff isnt really impressive.

If you do cr.hp xx fierce FS, you do more damage and get more meter. Of course, you get even more meter with cr.hp xx lk roll, fierce FS.
But, best-case, f+mk, s.hp, fierce CoD that shit.
Your right about that but how often you can pull that string out? i do it from time to time but when you want damage thats a nice go to move. But it can be risky because to start up frams for the cr.hp. i would rather do cr.lp->st.hp thats a nice link as well

i dont really call them weird, more like ‘chance’ combos because you have to see how your oppoenet reacts to certain attacks. everyone knows our BnB’s and can predict them now with that being said if you can do unusual strings, you use that to see up the real ones and if you can take damage with you Testing out your opposition its all a plus.

Brooklyn… do you understand how Abel’s moves work? Wheel Kick, especially MK and HK, are absolutely not safe on block, especially against 3 Frame DP characters. Yet u do it on their wakeup. Also, non ex roll has hittable startup, and u just do it all the time on your wakeup. Learn your max punish combos. Also, sweeping so close is not safe, shit is -10 on block. Thers really no point in EX TT’ing on people wakeup, a meaty TT will beat out dumb normals anyway, unless your trying to like get lucky and out Invincibility a DP or somethin… Its quite obvious you dont know what frame data is. Did you just Neutral Jump against Ryu…? oh god this is terrible

How often can I hit that link? Personally, about 70%. But, I know if I don’t keep trying it in a match, I’ll never improve my performance. Hitting that f+mk, s.hp link is hard, I’m not gonna lie. But, get used to plinking it (I explain that a bit more in my Beginner’s thread if you’re unfamiliar). If you’re asking about the cr.hp xx lk roll, fierce FS, I can hit it consistently on characters that are applicable. Some characters can’t be hit by that combo; yet again, there’s a list in the Beginner’s thread.
If you’re struggling on the f+mk link, still s.hp xx fierce CoD does more damage than cr.hp xx fierce CoD.
Really, get used to the f+mk link. If nothing else, f+mk, cr.lp, cr.lp, cr.lk, f+mk is nice pressure. On block, you can TT, regular throw, overhead; all sorts of shit.
It’s a one-frame link, but it’s worth putting into your game.

I’m very familiar with the frames info. But on the same token if play it by the numbers I will end up playing like a robot and being lethargic. I thrive on the rush down keeping the momentum, but it’s the fine balance I find my self needing to tame. Dont take it as disrespect. I do use some risky techniques, But yes your a hundred percent right about the cr.hk. In my strategies I use cr.hk as block string because it’s cancelable for a roll or rekka. I don’t spam it therefore it becomes useful in my playing style. As far as the neutral jump you have see how they react. I’m sure you ran across a shoto who wake grab or poke I use it as a surprise. If get caught by a DP once it’s on to the next tactic. It’s like I’m a quarterback checking down my options. It’s my way of feeling out the opposition.
It’s just a coincidence that the vidz were noobs. I will put up some higher ranked matches later. To be honest i was thinking to myself i hope they dpmt think im some dude just beating up beginners in terms of PP and BP. That’s to show your guys on SRK don’t miss any detail and I respect that.

HELL YEAH! The One-Frame Wonder how i call it is a staple. i started puttin it my game and my winnings have definately went up. i am a 7/10 winning percentage with Abel. Now its about fine-tuning our game. Abel is all i know. he is my strongest player. my second play is ABEL. lol. but all seriousness thanks for your thoughts.

from what ive seen (havent seen them all though), you whiffed too much stuff and your opponent were mostly not good enough to punish a lot of them.
dont wanna take anythin from your wins but i was watchin your vids mostly with “damn he got away with a lot of shit” (especially the unpunished rekka stuff and whiffed moves)… you said you didnt spam cr.hk but i think you kinda did.
and yeah you also lack f.mk dash st.hp combos(or none? not sure because i havent watched all of them) and pretty much overdid it with the wheelkicks.
Huh? How about this: Learn to play like a robot, and THEN deviate from it. At least that way you you have reliable tactics to fall back on.

okay its really been awhile… been 2 weeks since i last played super(well i played once or twice but just fuckin around with a friend whos only startin to play, and i didnt use abel at all)… so i might drop a few combos here and there and missed obvious punish opportunities…

- i shouldnt really jump in against a standing ryu(id really strongly advice against doing so or making it a habit), its pretty much a no-no against ryu unless theres a lil bit of reading going there, even then its still risky. i guess whats goin on in my head that first time was “hmm so dude has no meter, worst case is imma eat an AA shoryu…” and he didnt shoryu… then later on i kept jumpin in, probably because i thought he’s incapable of AA shoryu…
