Ryu’s sweep is harder to react to in footsies, but if you play a Ryu player who likes to cr.MP, cr.MP, sweep (or a similar combo), and he misses his 1-frame link, you can easily be watching for it and react with ultra.
Didn’t know about ryu either. Thanks

Juice v. Flip Champ
i feel like that would have been a lot easier if juicebox used more EX CoD’s. that shit works wonders against dhalsim.
it would have been easier if he didn’t miss c.lk, s.fp every time he tried it
Everybody’s a critic.
ha, Champ thought he could backdash out of everything, then he got stunned, lol
Yeah, more EX CoDs would’ve helped. I’m just not too big on wasting the meter for it… I don’t feel threatened by his normals anyway. I’ll just take my time and let him defeat himself.

vs. combofiend
Really great, for an Abel mirror. I ate too many command grabs, but I’m proud of the result.
Lol, was champ showboating and stuff around you? I would find that really frustrating, ha.
Yeah i saw that, really was just a toss up and a guess-a-thon, pretty entertaining though, and some fantastic skills.
Hey guys I have some casuals matchs with my friend.

New abel vs dudley SSF4 fight.
Holy moly abel looks like his damage has been buffed up.
At least we know we cant combo into the ultra after his BNB combo. But that Armor on the ultra is nice.
A bit, but I think it’s more to compete with the faster pace and new characters than a buff they’re thinking should have been in the original game.
Only thing I can really see is that at 2:33 in the first video you should have ultra’d.
And don’t focus attack against Bison so much. It’s only really effective against his slide. It’s not worth it, if you think he’s going to kick ex rekka is far more effective. And Doing cr.mk > mk roll is much better as an anti air because you get a free mix up.
anyone know somewhere to find recent Japanese high level Abel videos?

Type in (AB) or (ABEL) in the search fields and go from there.
Hey guys had a few games against a friend of mine recently who has a pretty solid Chun li & Rose some tips and opinions are welcomed

those are my usual sources but i havent seen much high level abel at either in months
I only really watched the second match so far, but here are a few quick observations.

You jump way too much. Abel has a very quick dash, and I really think you could’ve kept it grounded a lot more. I know it’s hard against a character with good footsies, but if the Rose player was a little more patient she could’ve anti aired most of your jumps.

This follows from 1. Almost every time you got a knockdown you did the same thing on your op’s wakeup. Crossup forward. The only other wakeup that I can remember was an empty crossup into throw. Crossups are a good option against Rose, but ambigous crossup rolls and TT should not be ignored. I really think if you had gotten more pressure off of your knockdowns you could’ve easily taken it. For a better oki game you can try: jab TT at max range, ambigous roll into c.fierce or c.short, and the always fun cl.roundhouse to stop jumpouts.
Other than that, practice your combo timing and I think you’ll do much better. If I get a chance to watch the chun fight I’ll try to update this.
