Just watched the chun vid. Nice pressue at 1:45 and I like the ex sbk baits. I think overall you jump in way too much though and need to mix it up more. Between 1:00 and 1:30 there were like 6 or 7 jump in mks. You ate a lot of j.hks that match. Granted its chun and her pokes are riduclous but try to play more footsies with st.lk and f.mk and stay on the ground more. Step kick is also a lot more effective when you mix it up with tick TT’s/st.hk in the corner/ and obviously hp >COD. Most of your follow ups to jumpins and f.mk were c.lp or c.lk, which is fine but you need to mix it up with other shit, esp TT. I think I saw one exTT that was about it. Others might have better tips for you, thats just what I saw.
EDIT: boceifus beat me to it but i think you get the idea. ambig crossup rolls are something i need to do more myself - (lk.roll the best for that? i have yet to get the spacing/timing down, too worried about reversals)
You look pretty decent to me. I mean you have the f.mk to fp timing down. I Haven’t bothered to get it down yet. I would just say be a bit more agressive. Even if you don’t attack throw out some st.lks just to intimidate them a little. Use rolls a little bit more for wake up mix ups. And after your ultra at the end you probably should have rolled out of the corner.
i’d say work on your punishes the most. at 1:51 you coulda done c.fp xx fp falling sky to get more damage and the untechable knockdown, then a nice mixup to win the round.
You need to work on your zoning a lot more, and chill with the random stuff (like at 0:35 and onwards). Understandable since Cammy keeps Abel locked down, but you don’t move around the screen very well, you should learn to move just by walking, instead of trying to roll, focus dashing, f+mk’ing, cod’ing etc.
Related to that, a major problem is that you never use his light normals at all. They’re great for pressure and forcing your opponent into doing silly stuff. Work on your movement in conjunction with pressure from normals, and I think you’ll see a huge jump in your game.
its been awhile since i recorded my matches… so here are some vids of me playing mostly against dictator, only once against a guile n ryu. Warning though, there are some scrub shit ive done in some of the vids… Anyway maybe some of yall can find something that i might overlook in the matches(besides obvious execution errors and scrubbiness that is)… I think i should use ex CoD more in this matchup… the dictator wasnt that good though, we’re proly around the same level imo…

Rufus is a bad match up for Abel and Shiro makes it look easy.

So I just got started with Abel. Im not sure if I wanna get serious with him yet or not. Here are a few vids and Im uploading more as we speak.
For starters, Im a total scrub so go easy. And I know my opponent wasn’t tough at all. What Im basically looking for is an experienced player’s perspective. What do I do too much? What did I do wrong? What should I have done and why? ANd what should I try more often?
I know I FA too much. Ive been trying to break that habit. And I dont have his cr.lk strings and f+mk > dash pressure down quite yet.
Only got time to watch one, against that akuma, besides the obvious stop spamming FA/any special moves… dont use FA as an antiair… i dont think you ever used st.lk or cr.lk in that match… know and use more his normal moves… and then another thing, you got a knockdown and you just let the akuma woke up for free no pressure no nothin, you need to work on your wakeup game… maybe you can try watchin some vids of other good abel players to see what theyre doing/not do… oh and learn your matchup.
