I can get it to work in the corner and even then its been hard to get it at max range too actually get a proper follow up its a really small range to make sure you can follow up properly
I don’t know how he did it mid screen either, I’ve been trying it with lp mp hp headbutt and I haven’t got it to work once

s.mp is really useful against akumas s.hk.(can also buffer a super while youre at it)
s.lp too (CH into f.mk)
s.hk is most painful when its being combod into from something else imo…

my match vs rufus is near the end of the vid at 19:20… I didnt do so good… Reasons/excuses being:
My partner Guile did awesome, but he’s not in that video… have to wait for part 3, that shit even wowed the japanese. The mc was kinda sceptical at first since guile mirrors are usually boring, but somehow it got crazy lol.
Rufus is tough as hell and that Rufus didnt seem like a slouch
i think u could ultra’d those empty neutral jumps Rufus did at the end of Round 1
and yea like u said, those EX Messiahs were killer, around 220 dmg a pop
i think u should be more aggressive, even wen he has EX, u can use that to your advantage by making him feel safe and bait em out and punish
i saw mostly backing up, not putting on much pressure
sidenote: That costume color is the 3nd ugliest to me aside from the purple and brown ones :lol:

i guess i wasnt being so aggresive because i messed up early and eat A TON of damage after just a few seconds into the match. Plus, I really didnt learn to block after a j.mk or step kick. My actual plan was to just keep him out if he jumps in… but i messed that up too obviously.
Only later in the 2nd round I got a little bit more comfy, but too late :sad:

yeah… cheesed out indeed. the japanese just went “oh shit that guile is mad good”. even on the niconico comments you can see that reaction.

I was watching this video ([media=youtube]QenhIskm2-A[/media]) and I noticed something weird that happens around 2:07mins; Abel jumps in while Dhalsim does c.hp, the Abel seems to focus while in the air and dashes. I’ve tried it a few times in training mode but I can’t get it to work the same way he did it. Does anyone know how it works?
Thats one of the earliest trick ppl discovered on sf4… the air focus… you just time the focus as you’re about to land…

okay, ive been maining abel since just after the game came out, occasionally reading stuff on here and watching other vids and such. id consider myself at least an average abel player although i have been beasted by a couple other abels ive run into over xbox live. ive never gotten round to uploading vids of myself until now.
the main guy i have probs with is ryu and theres a couple of vids of me fighting 2 randoms on Champ mode

i was having a couple of execution issues the day i recorded these so i was missing a couple of simple cancels here and there.
any tips anybody can give would be much appreciated as i generally really struggle with the ryu matchup every fight is an uphill struggle all the time for me.
