Abel Match Videos

Yeah, I watched the stream too. Sick stuff other than the obvious matchup problems against Rufus, well, at least Ricky Ortiz’ Rufus. Execution was on point.

Oh, and his matches from LA Riots II are up on gootecks’ website.

'10 1.24 Aichi vs Kanagawa 17on17 - Kindevu(Rufus) vs Hiraga(Abel)

holy shit hiraga is the grand master abel from an arcade in my area (15mins away)

edit: eh what he’s a master now?

WOW!!! Hiraga is really amazing! That fight vs Taison is really incredible!!!

lol the fight against taison’s a waiting game on who’s going to strike first, has more meter, has a life lead… LOL match

Damn, what an ending for that Hiragara VS Tasison match.

ya, for sure! What was up with the whiffed j.hk shenanz? I know they’re safe jumps, but am I missing something or was taison just trying to mess with his head? (obviously worked all of round 2, and a big chunk of 3)

lol@mago taunting maeda taison to come and attack in the 2nd round… and he did… get a perfect lol…

I think he’s messing with hiraga, like saying, you can try to jump and EAT MY J.HK on wake up

taison could’ve took that match, he didnt ultra after the headbutt lulz

Ya, i really thought it was over right then

Those whiffed J.HKs looked tricky. Some of the times it looked like he would cross-up but he actually just landed infront and went into his bnb again.

EDIT: and yea i was so surprised when he didnt ultra at the end of the 3rd round

i dont think its to trick the opp thinking its a crossup… especially since boxer doesnt have any crossups lol

I think jay is right, Taison was trying to cross him up. Not cross up like the traditional cross up attack, but it was very ambiguous which side he was going to end up on after landing from the j.hk so it was tough to know which way to block. I’m guessing it has something to do with going from a laying down to standing hit box that pushes Taison out to either side of Hiraga. Similar to Sakura’s mix up game tricks

actually on closer inspection he uses jumping roundhouse and jumping fierce. I think jumping roundhouse will “cross up” and rog will land behind the person waking up. If rog whiffs jumping fierce then he’ll land in front of you on wake up. devious!

the whole shenaniganz taison did in round 2 only involved j.HK(edit, j.hp might be used too but the effect cant be proven yet…)

immediately when abel fell on the ground, he did j.HK and landed on the other side but the next j.HK he landed in front because abel is waking up…

the first j.HK that “crosses up” is just like a normal jump across the body on the ground… the thing i learned is that he’s only messing with hiraga’s mind(there’s no roundhouse/fierce bs), he will always end up landing in front if the j.hk is timed late when abel is waking up.

edit: UPON CLOSER INSPECTION… i noticed that ok knock down, j.hk, THEN HE WALKED BACK A LITTLE… that must be the trick… (and if you notice, only the j.hk immediately after the knockdown ever “crossed up”, its just the same as jumping over without HK, except maybe its a mindfuck strategy lol)

hiraga didnt block properly too… cant blame him after all that bullshit hahha… boxer has no crossup attack so there’s no reason to block a late jump-in attack the other way (like most of the 2nd jump in hk/hp after the first “crossup”… they always land in front)

Thanks for pointed that out! That ambiguous jump shit really confuse people… Gotta remember always block back…

Jay is right, and you’re not understanding. The point of doing the j.HK isn’t to hit or hit as a cross up (because it obviously can’t). Doing the j.HK makes it hard to see where the game is considering Boxer’s body to be. It’s confusing to tell whether he’s going to land on the left or right side, because you can’t really tell where boxer’s body is. The j.HK itself isn’t the ambiguous cross up, it’s the c.LP after he lands that is the ambiguous cross up once you’ve woken up. The amount that he walks back after doing the first jump (which he does as a safe jump in case the opponent quick rises) determines whether the second jump will cross up or not.

…and you too obviously didnt read my reply properly, thus not understanding, read my post again.

from the video there’s no proof that if he didnt walk back a little that the next j.hk is going to land on the other side… obviously i dont know about the trick as much, my conclusion was made by watching the vid, i didnt know for sure how the thing work because ive never played a boxer who apply that trick …

from all i know, jay and those who commented here, made conclusions based on watching that video.

again, strictly based off the video, there’s NO PROOF that he can cross up TWICE after knocking down abel(since its the 2nd jump-in that seemed to be the problem). thats all im saying (i even speculated on the possibilites in my posts, but i cant say everything for sure because its new to me too)

im not saying he’s completely wrong, but if he’s only basing it off the video, i say thats not enough.

“HOLY SHIT why did he roll, then roll again, it must be a TRICK!!”

Guys, really?

lol

Sorry if my post came off the wrong way, I didn’t mean anything negative by it. I just thought maybe you didn’t understand what he meant, because I get the feeling english isn’t your first language? Anyway, from watching the video, it’s clear that the second jump was confusing/ambiguous. Just watching the match and watching him do it should have been evidence of that. After the knockdown, when he jumps the first time, he jumps over you, so if he were to immediately jump back the other way, without moving, he’s going to jump back to exactly where he started from, which means back over you to the other side. The only way that wouldn’t work is if somehow you were standing by then, and your body was in the way of the jump. But after I watched the video, I tested the setup, and you aren’t standing in time to get in the way of the second jump. So depending on how much he backs up, he can control which side he lands on, and the animation of the j.HK hides this, and makes it very ambiguous.

yeah I sure as hell couldn’t tell what was going on. that jump was really confusing
