I only watched the first vid too (time constraints) but the only thing I have to add to what hfz said is that AA c.HP more. I’ve recently thrown that into my game a lot more and It works really well against jump-ins that aren’t on your wake up (be weary of safe jumps to grab option selects to punish the roll). You can AA clean and ultra/dash falling sky/dash super. Especially toward the end of the match I’m looking to AA clean or trade with it to ultra if they wanna jump. I noticed the ryu was trying to punish you while you were building meter and jumped in like 5x in a row, seems like a perfect bait to me

so last night i took a lot of vids since i have to return the camera today… out of 34 vids, ive only chose to upload 3 for now (ill just post the matches i think ppl can learn something from them lol or vids that i need feedbacks/advice because i was having problems with it and not because i was fooling around)
(abel vs gouki - i tried applying s.lp to good use in this matchup, it made the gouki think twice before he wanna do another s.hk)
(obligatory vs gief vid )
(the only gen ive fought in months lol)
note: the vids are proly still processing, but watchable.
any feedbacks are appreciated.
NEVER doing a TT after a blockstring to f + mk is pretty stupid in itself.
leuviticus, a swedish sagat player i sometimes play with, he takes advantage of me almost never doing tt after step kick, so he just blocks my step king and throws me out of all the followups…
Sure, NEVER is stupid, but so does ALWAYS.
And uh, crazy sagat even threw you out of your throw…
what do you mean by crazy sagat?
wow, looks like you have to be at a medium-close range to land the s.lp. When I play Akuma/Gouki near that range, they usually do c.mk, so I keep my distance and stuff their s.hk with s.mp. I guess if you can predict that he’s going to do a s.hk rather than a c.mk, CH s.lp is a better option.
the sagat you played… threw you out of “ALL” your options (except TT)… =P. Nvm just ignore that post.
IMO thats the sweetest range for them to try s.hk… more damage from that compared to cr.mk(no fadc that is)… though i think s.lp can work from a lil further away too… all timing…
I still need to get that CH combo down though … i was too busy “reading” my opponent i forgot about the f.mk haha.
Awesome vid AhDee! The Ryu knows hot to jump in outside the range of Abel’s c.mk anti air. I’ve been having problems with Ryu jumping in with HP when really close and Abel’s sHP does work and Ryu jumping in from with j.HK just from outside Abel’s c.mk range. Abel’s answer from the vid is to roll or jump back HP which needs to be done almost instantly.
depends on the match up
You’re welcome Mike! I’ve also learned a lot from that vid!
Here are the mystery Mr. Black Bar’s new vids:
Xbox aimming at 5000bp part.8
Get owned by Sagat at the first round, crazy intense mirror match vs another good Abel, some tough fights with Honda, and finally vs Ken, the late crossup at the end to bait out DP was nice!
Xbox aimming at 5000bp part.9
First round vs Ryu, got crossup Hurricane Kick on wake up a couple times…The others are vs Ken, Dictater, Gief and Ken again.
The dp shortcut strikes again. Seriously Capcom, why?
It looks cool, but Abel mirrors are a pain, especially if you play similarly. Non-stop step kicking.
I think he was playing it a little too safe at times. There were some good chances for a TT where he just did a couple lk’s.
how to play Abel in japan:
roll roll roll roll roll roll roll roll
st mk TT everytime
roll roll roll roll roll roll roll roll
ROCK & ROLL!!
and get thrown…
Hmmm video 2
@ 9:02 f.mk > overhead beats out scissors?
Are you sure this is the same guy as last time? If i remember i was a lot more impressed with him before, plus didn’t he always wear black? And he like almost never missed a combo? He also fluffed his ultra here twice! Ah well, maybe he just had a bad day
yeah i think its not the same guy, this time the guy’s a beginner… lol just because he censored the names with a black bar doesnt mean he’s the same person
As soon as they post the videos i’m going to put the link on here, but combofiend just ran a train at the norcal tournament. I just finished watching the stream… but look for the vids to come cause there’s a lotta good stuff on it
Ricky Ortiz ran a train on his ass though! Sexy Ricky was awesome. But yeah, Combofiend did really well.
