I like the quality and creativeness in the entrees.
…really want the original Millia pic used for this one!
The av that I entered (Popeye can) was something I was working on for Quiche that he requested from me. It was originally intended not to be entered in this contest. However, as I was nearing it’s completion, I wondered if I could just enter that av in the contest, because the contest’s deadline was almost up, (good timing) and nobody has seen the av yet, and the av already had some Guilty Gear references in it. I asked Quiche, and he gave me the OK to enter.
I made the stupid mistake of leaving Quiche’s name on the av, which would inevitably cause some confusion. I should have just ommited the name before entering it. But I got lazy, and neglected to take out the name. Deep down, I was hoping that people would assume that someone other than Quiche had made the Popeye av, as it wouldn’t have made much sense for someone to put their own name on their av entree.
Thanks for the feedback. A lot of time was spent on it. X__X
On the topic of some of the file sizes on the avs … I thought I remember Quiche saying that it was ok for entrees to be ‘slightly’ over the srk size limit. (I could be remembering wrong though) I agree that it would be unfair if an av was over the size limit, especially for animated avs.
The Fuckachunkz theme was confusing. It did take away some of the seriousness of the contest. But the contests are supposed to be about having fun. And the question over what it means exactly was addressed to in the contest thread. At least now that it’s been used already, it can’t be used again.
I don’t know what to think about those that were expecting a better turnout. Us taggers have varying levels of skills and experience. While an entire month is a generous amount of time to cook up something good… really, a good av shouldn’t take over 2 weeks to make. Not to say that monthy contests are bad, far from it.
Another thing to think about is that because of the rule where you can’t let anyone else see your entree before the entrees are all revealed, that cuts off any possible feedback you could get, unless there’s someone outside of srk to critique it. I’m sure most of the avs only receive comments once the deadline is over.
