I knew about SRK when it was brand spanking new.
Later on joined like LATE LATE 2001. Like December i believe.

Later on other sites like ComboVideos and ShinAkuma emerged, but they vanished semi quick.

I joined the day I got a laptop all to myself, Feb '09. Was a lurker for most of '08.

I know, I know, I’ve only “been” here for almost a year, but I just wanna say this place is pretty cool once you cut through the crap and all the bad rep that’s misleading. I’ll never know “how much better” this place was, but damnit I’m making local friends already from SRK, I’m already seeing stuff I know I’ll only see here.

Here’s to SRK, and to it’s members, I’m hard pressed to find another place like it.:smile:

Almost 10 years have I been part of this. Thank god I don’t come to general discussion anymore. It’s a bunch of faggotry now. :crybaby:

I remember when it would be no holds bar flame wars that weren’t moderated and you could say fuck fuckity fuck fuck fuck and tell people they were donkey raping shit eaters that were uncle fuckers and they’d come back and say something weird like “I know you don’t have any ketchup in your house, cause you momma oozed it all unto my cock and sucked it right off, looked just like a hot dog, except bigger” and we would keep on arguing about stupid stuff that made no sense, but now I just hang out in the strategy section…There’s a lack of real men nowadays? :nunchuck: why is that?

SRK is still awesome. Get to learn stuff every now and then.

Edit: I look back and I was in high school, graduated college and almost finishing my time in the military and through all that I’ve been coming to this site. Wow.

I came here as a lurker when I was, honest to god, 11 years old around '01. I was in love with dat Mahvel but funnily enough, MUGEN led me to here. I made an account, lost it around the crash, and stumbled back here in 07. I think little snippets of lawless SRK and early 4chan deeply embedded in my childhood have irrevocably fucked me up but I wouldn’t change it for the world.

Here’s to another 10 years.

I know there’s got to be a way to find those old threads. I don’t know when everything got deleted (03 maybe?), but some of the most legendary shit imo happened before then. And I know at least one of the threads from before the reboot survived, so there must be others.

Before joining SRK in 01 I was on GameFaqs, along with MycahLeonhart (sp?) and a few others, and we migrated over here around cvs1 era maybe. Remember Mycah (if you’re still around), the countless arguments CVS1 caused on the Gamefaqs boards

I joined this site back 05 but didn’t start posting until SF4 was announced back in Oct 07. So many years lurking and so many memories reading these threads. Easily the best forum on the internets. I fucking love this site.

I came here looking for Roll strats (:rofl:) and a new island to chill on when F.Net got blowed up. Prolly smart to lurk first back then because there was mad refugee hate from the SRK old guard. Ended up staying for such comedic gold as:

I believe she changed her name to Roxy when the first name change happened, only reason I remember this is because when it first happened I wasn’t premium and I saw a few peoples names change that didn’t match the avatar that I remembered with the name then I put 2 and 2 together. I don’t know if it’s the same chic but I do remember RC going off on her UUUGGGLLLLYYYYY in a post that made everybody stand back and go DAAAYYYYYUUUUUMMMMM!!!
