For APEX points the front page used to have recent tournament results with the points next to them and then I think you could click by region and see who had the most points for that region for that year. APEX points were cool but the system of it was flawed.

The most vivid memory I have about SRK happened the week of Final Round 5. I was supposed to ride up to ATL with some local players for the tourney and PM them late that week to confirm everything since my phone wasn’t on at the time. A day later The Great Crash happened due to the “Post something about the person about me” thread, and I ended up missing my ride. That whole weekend I was like DAMN YOU SRK GD!!!:mad:

Loved SRK back when games like MVC2 and CVS2 were new and info was scarce and strats would be developed every day.
APEX POINTS! - I only started going to tournaments because of Apex Points at Flushing Mall in NY lol. My 1st tourny ever was cvs2 - beat some K-groove user who JD’ed everything and he got totally pissed when he lost to my zangief cuz he couldn’t JD my grabs LOL! Then I lost to a guy’s M.Bison neutral jump HKs meh.
EVO - went to a couple - forgot which years…one of them was when Yipes beat Justin in MVC2. and the other was maybe a couple years after. ('05 and '07?) Dunno if you guys remember this but at EVO '05, my gf at the time (Stephanie) was getting mad props for running brackets like all day. She got a free T-shirt lol.
Classic threads? I dunno but I remember when Iceman used to counter Cable.

The tiers for almost everything sure have changed a lot. Lol some of the tiers then are lol worthy when you look at how much a game has progressed and the tiers that became or were lost because of the progression. I remember when people would argue on whether or not Sentinal was good or if he sucked all because he was either A) too big B)couldn’t block in flight mode or C) a combo of A and B.
There was also the arguement on if you could RC supers in CVS2.

I signed up for SRK on July 2000 because I was looking for help on MvC2 against my friend’s cheesy Iceman. 
I’ve never been a member of anything as long as SRK and although I never really posted, I’ve always visited the site on nearly a daily basis.
Some of the real old stuff I remember.
-Old school Jame’s Chen MvC2 combo vids with 3x Hyper Gravs Tempest
-Low quality shaky cam footage of tournament matches
-Alex Valle and Duc Do were big names before some unknown east coast kid named Justin Wong appeared
-Viscant being Viscant.
-Shady K and clockw0rk’s insane combo videos with custom music
-ThisGuileKillYou (I think that was his screen name, I remember it for being inventive)
-Gigantic pics for signatures.
-Everyone had an Akuma sig and was named Dark or Evil or Akuma something.
-akumachan having getting the high post count fastest.
and so much more I can’t remember.
After that was the rise of General Discussion due to MvC2 aging somewhat and the growth of the forum.
It’s really crazy how some of us (like myself) signed up as teenagers and are now adults.
I have found memories of the pre-crash thread that was called something like, “Ya momma jokes, but with a MVC2 twist!”
Such gems like -

Ya momma’s so ugly Doctor Doom gave her his mask saying “Here you need this more than me!”

Lots of funny stuff in that thread. We had a “Ya momma jokes but with a CVS2 Twist” thread too but it never took off like the MVC2 one.

Congrats on the 10th anniversary, SRK. Thanks for putting up with my sub-literate bullshit for all these years.
Someone on xbl 3s tipped me off to this site back in like 05 or 06 and it’s been a daily site for me ever since. I found our about FR in ATL and an actual scene besides my friends in GA and god knows how much the discussion and strats stepped up my game. I’ve been introduced to new games and brought back to old ones from this place. Not to mention those super fun middle of the night GD debates and arguments. Also, can’t forget about my favorite video thread. Love this place and visit it more than any other site on the web.
hmm i would need to dig and find some of my old ones cuz i had them saved on my thumb drive. My very first one was an akuma with his winning pose and animated fire in the background
I think myself, akumachan and AkumaTx are the few remaining “Akumas” that still post. Im unsure in the other forums though.
Ive started posting in 2002 where I heard things through word of mouth and I was posting while attending school. One day I forgot to log off and unreal sent me pm stating that . My “claim” to fame would be my Brazil trip thread and where I have a tendency to be considered “late” when I post news.
Happy 10th anniversary! I joined with a different nickname back in 2003/05-ish, but later on for some odd reason made another one. I forgot why but what the hey.
