First found out about this site at a public library in 2000(yeah I didn’t have internet at home:xeye:) while looking for MvsC2 videos. Long and behold I stumbled on the front page of SRK. I didn’t really give a shit about the forums and GD in general, I just came for video links to matches. Finally around 2003 I finally decided to join once I saw all the crazy shit that was going on here.
I may not post as much or make epic threads, but it’s nice to see the community evolve over such a long period of time. Been some good times and bad times here, but at the end of the day SRK is the first shit I check out on a daily basis.
Hopefully I’ll actually get to go to EVO soon and meet a lot of you cool cats soon one day.
I joined in 2003. My MVC2 game leveled up immensely.
Did SRK members ever invade Gaia? I remember hearing stories about that. I also remember we suspected someone had died on SRK and someone went over to Higher Voltage to inquire about that. And I had suggested for a brief second that we invade Higher Voltage.
Joined in 04 because I wanted to learn about fighting games after a very long hiatus from them. Once I discovered GD, it was all over. I can easily say, SRK has shaped a lot of my current personality and made me the perv I was always meant to be. Big ups to all the people who make SRK the perfect cure for work, and just a great place to hang out.
I honestly still consider everyone from 03 and up?including myself?to be kind of new here, since we missed most of the shit that went down while we were all still “lurking” (yes, we all lurked here, I’m sure. ).
But yeah, like any forum, the “regulars” seem to change every year or so, and SRK is the only one where I stuck around long enough to kind of get to know people.
I never lurked here. I knew of the site since probably 02 but I never actually bothered coming here till late 05 when I registered. Been addicted ever since.

I remember coming to this site when i was 15 hence why i have the 15 but to check out mvc2 strats n what not and i just happened to stay. good people around here. :bgrin:
The first time I checked on SRK was during the CvS1 era and with James Chen’s combo videos for it. Eventually I got to lurk around the site and forums and ultimately registered in '05 - I think the reason was because the forums at the time were only readable by members? Not sure if I recall that correctly.
Eventually 4 years after I started to remember I had an account so I started posting in a few random forums here - and ultimately I’ve been hooked ever since. Got to know some good folks around here too (and in which I hopefully would meet in real life as well).

i joined in '03 and back then i only really posted in the rap thread and maybe the occasional vs. thread…now if my computer is on i almost always have an SRK window open.
Found this site on accident looking for GGXX combos on Gamecombos. Lurked for a month back in 2004, joined this site in June, forgot my password and started a new account with Was(instead of regular ole’ Femto). For about six months I only read and once in awhile post in the Xbox Live forums for CvS2 shit.
All this info here and I will always suck at fighting games.
I miss Bloofy. Wasn’t he the reason why Col. Guile and others went on a forum raid at Gaia?
Been here pretty much from the beginning, and lurked Fighters.net before that. Speaking of which, why do our join dates no longer appear under our names? Did it turn into a dick measuring contest while I’ve been away from the forums over the past year or something?
Too many memories, try to list one and you do disservice to the ones you don’t mention. But I’d have to say the old poetry thread kicked major ass lol, religious threads and vs. threads before they were banned, my Jokey Smurf account, the rise and fall of SONY LEGEND, the rise, fall and eventual acceptance of Triforce, the ongoing girl problem saga of Evenflow80 for those old enough to remember him (not too many nowadays I’m sure), I could go on and on, good times, good times.

btw what happened to those OLD threads, SRK went through stages where it kept restarting over and deleting old threads, including at least one major incident where EVERYTHING was deleted and we basically started from scratch.
