Signed up early 09 after lurking a month or two. Found this place after I discovered HDR, and prior to that I had only extremely casual street fighter experience (GBA Alpha 3, SF EX). Though I loved fighters it was HDR that made me start to take them seriously. Reading the hate SFIV got from some of the HDR guys initially I passed on it for a while, but then I saw the stream of Devestation 2009 (my first glance at the higher end of SF play) and I decided I must buy the new hotness that was SFIV. Now I’m in G1, taking my play seriously enough to hit up training mode regularly and eagerly anticipating SSFIV all thanks to SRK. LONG LIVE SRK!

Damn. Shit’s a long time. I’ve probably been lurking since '04. Came here sporadically for random strats until I re-discovered Hyper Fighting and ST in 2007. All those sleepless nights in XBL quarter matches or on GGPO, the tons of posting in the OG ST and HDR sections, the complete compassion-less beatdowns of those who think tick-throws are cheap… ahh. Thanks for being awesome SRK!

Been lurking since Nov 2000, Registered June 2001…have I really been on here for 8 and a half years?!
I remember a friend showed me srk in 00 and the cool avatars people had like TIS’s gray haired red eyed blue sword slashing the words TIS in blue or DS’s hell scythe cutsom2 whatever the fuck with the glowing green eyes or PG’s dinobot av and the list goes on is what attracted me initially lol. It wasn’t until I was able to get around my mom’s site blocker whatever in 04 did I join and participate. I love the pure unmatched entertainment value and knowledge srk provides almost as much as the fact that srk showed me there are other people out there who hold things like streets of rage 2 or gunstar heroes in the highest of regards.
I remember not long after I joined sep became a mod. In every respect from interface to the people and to what they say (minus the sf4 forum) to the pool of game data stored and overall community oriented atmosphere srk is and I suspect always will be my main source of entertainment from the internet as well as a reminder that there are other people with the niche 2D game fetish:rofl:
Been a SRK member since 2001, but I wasn’t really active back then because I was still in school, and I was more active in the GameSpot forums, where I was a moderator. I think I became more active here back in 2005, maybe? I can’t really remember.

It’s been a great site, love it. It’s still the best forum on the internet. Even though there is a lot of trolling and general hate, if someone really needs help or advice I’m always struck by how much people help out.
Also the level of contribution is amazing- people coming up with mad programs, applications, videos, FAQs etc for games.
