A beginners and intermediate guide to marvel

ok…after reading what the Great Juicy G has to say about this shit…here’s my question…

I can use Psylocke alright (Can combo with her alright), I can use Spiral pretty damn good (got her teleporting and swords on lock), and out of the god tier, I can kinda sorta use Storm (I have problems doing the tri-jumping efficiently, but I at least know how to do it, and I know most of her combos, but nothing lockdown-style). With a team like that, what would I need to really sit down and learn to be proficient with that team?

…Yeah yeah…gotta drop Spider-Man, I guess…I can use him really well, but because of the stupid tiers, and the fact that most of you guys drop me fast, you never see that.

Well, to be honest that team also sucks, but it is more workable…

Just build chip all day with ghetto spiral/storm projectile trap. Can use psylock as an anti air, although you can’t do much damage with spiral when it hits.

When Spiral dies, you should have 5 meter Storm with Psylock aa, which is damn annoying to fight against. I would just keep away and hail that shit.

That’s what I would do if I was forced to pick that team.

Blackheart?

Yeah juicy G i just wanted to hear some stuff on Bh thanx appreciate it

BH had decent success early on due to his high annoyance factor. too bad he loses to the entire big 4. you want to always stay on top of your opponent with demons and hitting lk+anti air,lk. if it hits go into infernoXX heart of darkness. very simple character.

best teams:

Team watts bh/sent/cap
Bh/Cable/cap

I have a question. How do you block? Seriously.

I understand strategy, and what to do in what situation. But when you’re getting rushed down by an angry Magneto, how can you make the right judgement call? The game seems to move too fast to react. I almost feel like I have to guess which direction a character is coming from instead of just simply blocking what I see come out.

Just wondering

A lot of times, holding up, or up back helps, if the opponent doesn’t time hitting low correctly. You see a lot of top players holding up back, especially after being setup for a reset (flying screen setups and what have you).

But to actually block, that’s %80 expectation, %20 reaction, give or take.

Ok kool Thanks Juicy appreciate it. :china:

Is there anyone who actually fights with Psylocke? Usually the only time I see someone using Psy is because she’s the only one left, or she got snapped in. If anyone knows of a good Psy player let me know.

Also, is there a delay on pushblocks (meaning you pushblock and then instantly do a reversal)? And can you pushblock multiiple times during the same move liks pushblocking all three waves of hsf?

Psylocke is a character no one plays specificly on point. She is good at running away and stalling for time(like for a dhc for instance).

Your guys thoughts on my team of…

Felicia
Strider
B.B Hood

I’ve been playing Felica since day one is by far my strongest character. Strider I recently got his air combos down.

It’s that third spot I’ve been flipping around with. I wanna try to have a projectile character. And B.B.'s projectile assist is slow moving, annoying, and has saved my ass quite a few times. Though I haven’t really played against anyone I would consider good in a LONG ass time.

Yeah, I ranted…

:wtf::mad::confused::annoy:

Why’d I get neg repped…?!

EDIT: So this post isn’t completely worthless…w/ Psylocke, jus’ DP…a lot. Cancel to butterflies, then DHC the hell out. 100% serious.

good lord thats an old school “game just came out” team…I could possibly be an alright challenge for you…but anyone else above me? prepare for a quick death.

Dang. Does she at least fit on a team with AA Cable and sometimes AA/sometimes Projectile Iron Man? If I use AA Iron Man, I use Cable a lot. If I use Proj. Iron Man, I use him to help Psy’s rushdown.

Best way to use that team IMO, would be IM/Cable/Psylocke, in that order, all on AAA.

IM to build meter/assist for Cable. Cable to burn meter. Psylocke to set-up INF/AHVB.

I know you don’t want to hear this…but Psylocke should never be on point, unless forced.

IDEALLY, the match should go as follows:

IM lands hit and builds meter/kill w/ INF. GB 2nd character, to INF, to PC, to DHC-> HVB. Then GB and severely weaken last character. Then keep away using IM AA.

And yeah…I really like Cable/IM duo :razz::wink:.

Hope that helps.

P.S. Thanks to Humbag for the rep :bgrin: .

Guess the dream is dead. Thanks for the suggestions though. Quick Cable question. During some match vids I’ve seen, people will use scimitar after landing HK and cancel scimitar into ahvb instead of super jump canceling the hk. Is there an advantage to doing scimitar over super jump cancelling, or is it just a personal preference?

Personal preference/Trying to be fancy. Some would also argue that you get meter from doing the scimitar, but it’s negligible.

I think super jump canceling is easier, but some people may find the scimitar method better for them. I just hate it when i get ground viper into HVB or just a scimitar with no super afterwards…which usually = dead cable.

… which is why I need to get out more.

I played with Cable for the longest. But I just got bored with the character for some reason.

Cable isn’t all that exciting/hard to play in my opinion. I think the only reason he became popular is because he’s Cable and AHVB until your opponents death.

Reading through this, There’s some quality shit in here!

I wanna play Strider/Doom so bad but my Execution isn’t always on point. Go figure!

Cable is hella fun to play. Watching your opponent getting frustrated at not being able to move/get in is almost better than eating Cinnabons.
