I second that, cable is pretty damn fun. Those big ass comebacks he sometimes has are the icing to the cake.
I guess I came off the wrong way. I play Cable too, I was just saying that those were some reasons that I thought made people want to play Cable/ made him popular.
george or derek or etc:
when im doing the rom infinite with mags, after like 4 reps they always get to high in the air, any good methods for keeping them down or is it just better timing of the ad df lks.
is it just me or is triangle jumping with storm harder than mags
Use 1 hit on the way up, and/or slow down your 2 hits on the way down. Conversely, use 2, or even 3, hits on the way up, and/or speed up your 2, or add another, on the way down if they’re getting too low. Adjust accordingly to what height you see.
And yes, tri-jumping w/ Storm is harder than w/ Mag.
Hope that helps.

Marvel still sux.

well i got the rom down now, i can do it very easily now
any advanced tips with MSP?
I know i gotta be very careful when to call out psy, but what are some good mixups outta the rom. I can do a few like trijump+hk or lk, dash under lklk+psy, dash under trijump+hk or lk etc.
I want to play Team Scrub… what do I do? I know how to AHVBx3, and how to do the Hyper Sentinel Force combo, but outside of that, wtf is going on in this game?
Hey
I’m hoping to get into Marvel very soon. All I need is a converter for PS2 -> DC. I’m so broke right now, that I can’t even afford to get a $10 converter. Wtf. :sad:
I haven’t played Marvel in a few years, and even then, I had only played it a few times. This guide is a great read and I’ll definitely check it out again when I get that converter and start training.
I was thinking about what my first team would be, and I was hoping Cable/Cyclops/and someone else. Who would you guys suggest to go along with those two characters? Doesn’t have to be one of the top tiers, but if you think I’m just better off with a certain top tier, that’s fine.
Peh, back in the day, Cable/Anti Air was all you needed.
Any of the other three top tiers are good, if you pick Mags, start him first obviously.
Doom is also good, or Ironman maybe even…
Actually, it still stands, you can pick pretty much anyone you are decent with and make a good overall team.
What about Cable/Psylocke?
That is good if you have Mags (old school team) or IM, I know you like that team ha.
-
Don’t call Psylocke unless you think it’ll hit, and/or you can cover her while she leaves. Same goes for Storm.
-
ROM to ~30 hits XX UMT (Unmasable Tempest) XX Hail kills most, if not all characters.
Notation-wise, looks like this: c.lk->c.hp / \ sj.hk, AD d/f->ad.d+lk->ad.mk \ / [sj.lk->sj.mk, slight pause, AD d/f->ad.d+lk->slight pause, ad.mk]x6-7 \ / j.lk+Psy AA->j.mk XX MT->assist hits, MT hits, pause XX [DHC] Hail.
- For any further reference, watch vids of Yipes’ or JustinW’s MSPs. Then jus’ copy them.
Since you’re first starting out, start Sent. Use [“spit” (c.hp) XX fly XX un-fly]xN to keep’em away/in check/build meter. Also mix that up w/ fly forward “pan” (j.hp), every now and then. If they get frisky and try to move into you, call CapCom. Throw in a little c.hp XX HSF for chip and to keep on their toes. But use sparingly, the whole point is to build meter for Cable. That’s as basic as you can get, and will take down 80+% scrubs you will encounter. The other 20%…will probably be hurting, that’s where you let Cable run clean-up.
For reference, look for vids w/ SmoothViper’s or Genghis’ Scrub.
Storm or Sentinel.
And always have Cyclops last.
Hope that helps.

P.S. Congrats to Humbag for owning Jose in the finals in Champaign :lol: :razz: :tup: :bgrin:.
FUCK YOU NIGGA!:arazz: Give me a few years and dat ass is mine.:annoy: IM is too balla for me to fuk with Mag and I ACTUALLY WANT TO USE PSYLOCKE. I love me some Psylocke, always have. My Cable needs a lot of work as I found out.
How does Psylocke/Storm/Iron Man or Cable sound? I want to try this team, but that would require me to learn Storm on top of learning IM who is pretty hard to learn by himslef.
Psylocke should always be last, no matter who else is one the team. With the characters you posted, the best combinations [that have IM in them] are: IM/Storm/Cable (Team Mitsu), IM/Storm/Psylocke , and IM/Cable/Psylocke.
I’m not gonna lie…IM/Psylocke is mediocre at best. IM/Cable AAA > IM/Psylocke AAA. IM’s jus’ too slow to use Psylcocke to her full potential. Off the top of my head, the only thing IM/Psy has over IM/Cable is the GB (j.hp+Psy AAA > j.hp; no matter what they do, Psy being there always sets them up to the exact same/ideal height for INF EVERY TIME).
Of the teams I mentioned, the best is Team Mitsu. Even though Storm/Psy > Storm/Cable…IMO, they’re both better than Cable/Psy.
However, all of the teams have the same basic gameplan. Land INF to kill->GB to INF [30-40 hits], DHC to next character->GB and combo accordingly (depending on who’s 2nd). Be forewarned…execution for IM is EXTREMELY important.
Hope that helps.

Thanks… Know any of IM’s GB’s off the top of the dome by chance?
Corner or mid-screen:
- Deep j.hp \ / INF
- sj, ad f, ad.lp-> pause, ad.u+hp \ / INF
- sj.u+hp, ad d/f->ad.u+lp, pause->ad.u+hp \ / INF
Corner only:
- j.hp \ / sj.lp, ad f->ad.lp->ad.u+hp \ / INF
- sj.lk, ad f->pause, ad.lk, pause->ad.u+hp \ / INF
- sj, ad d->ad.u+hp \ / INF
- sj, HP unibeam->sj.lk, pause->sj.u+hp \ / INF
These are the only ones I can remember off the top of my head…but I’m pretty sure that’s most, if not all, of’em.
Hope that helps.

I didn’t know he could airdash afrer each hit in the air, I thought it was a one time deal.:rolleyes: Thanks a lot.
He could, but during normal jump, you wouldn’t be able to do anything afterwards. If you superjump, press a button, then cancel it into airdash, you’ll be able do something else after.
Hope that helps.
