i actually don’t think i’ve lost more… if you count all the past matches we’ve played together i think if you count all the matches at rush, it would be something like 35-15 or something for you, i might have beaten you more than 20 games before that elsewhere but i’m not sure

but not for not playing at arcades. while i admit, i am better at arcades, it’s prolly as much as tariq said by only like “20%” but not cuz of japanese sticks but any situation where i’m not standing up and like far from the tv, i just play not as good or i can’t stay playing on high levels of play for long periods of time.
i really don’t know why no one believes me but i honestly was really exhausted from the sun. and even though you did get better towards the end, i’m sure you noticed a dramatic drop in reaction time/strategy towards the end of our set. i just wanted to end it fast, without doing anything particularly safe or intelligent.
without a doubt, you were the better player on that day though, don’t get me wrong. even without the exhaustion from the sun, the first matches looked pretty even. towards the end, it started getting gay but even if i didn’t tan, if i were to have beaten you it woulda been close enough to consider it a draw. i went into the match more confident than what i should have been. now i would appreciate you not looking back towards the casual matches cuz i’m HONESTLY being truthful and telling you i wasn’t trying. but even though i had your controller, i just really practiced the stupid genei jin combos and not even the strong ones, just easy ones to do. i practiced a few matches with sal but he hadn’t used necro for too long for him to be a serious help. anyways, back to my point, the jap sticks themselves didn’t really fuck me over
it was the exhaustion (not from being sleepy, but from being overheated) and that’s about it. with casual matches, the arcade setting really makes me better but since it was a money match, being on console does make it serious enough for me to neglect that factor. and as for “arcades” i only consider it an arcade when you i dunno. i just dont’ really think sitting arcades make matches seem that serious. it seems much more casual
anyways, but maz, i see your frustration. navid is difficult to argue with sometimes and time and time again, i’ve had to play him numerous times before he acknowledges shit. he does share similar beliefs to you though in how he bases his opinions on casual matches and refuses to acknowledge his opponent’s excuses whether legitamate or illegitamate. but he will admit when an opponent’s better when the time comes so play your match and if you are better, he’s not a coward and won’t run away. it took like 8 months before he admitted i was the better guilty gear player and even though he would cream me during casuals, when it counted i pulled through. first, he though i would never get good at cvs2 cuz i only played mvc2. when i beat him, he played third strike and when i beat him at third strike, he said it’s cuz i knew how to parry (i only parried jump ins though) and so he played guilty gear which was apparantly “too different from capcom fighters for me to play good”. he also thought that since i had no way to practice it cuz i dont’ have a ps2 or access to a cabinet, i would lose. however, i just used sol (most capcom like player and wouldn’t you know it? SO DID NAVID!). old habits die hard. but yeah
my advice? just beat him at johnny zee’s. nothing shuts a guy up worse than getting beat on his terms. which is why i was so eager to accept the DC challenge against you. now, since i lost, i’m feeling hella dumb but if i had beaten you, you prolly would have shut up if you were intelligent in any way.
finally after like 4 years, he can finally admit i am a good player. which after all this time, feels pretty damn good.
and i am also acknowledging that you’re a good player, but you should also acknowledge that as long as you’re using the controller as an excuse, navid should be just as allowed to. regardlesss of the terms, you’re both unwilling to compromise

and yeah, playing on dc is great and all but without having someone to play against is kinda weak… cuz playing against alvin’s necro isn’t really like practicing against you. and no one else really uses him anyways. what i actually need to do is just play the game more. training on dc won’t really improve my game much. i dont’ mind the DC really, so it’s not gonna be a big deal if i don’t getta play with it. one night with the stick is all i need unlike some people lol (i have been using that stick for a while though so no complaints)
