Just takes some time to get used to
I’m much better on green monster than on JZ’s sticks
Kyle says he is too
So is Maz
So I guess there’s no way to challenge each other when u’re both at full strength unless someone can let u borrow a MAS stick or u tell student to make u one
ahah navid ahah now you know how i feel when i play at jz.
thers nothing necessarily wrong with the american controlers i just cant use them.
in the end when you list a whole bunch of problems, you are listing problems YOU are having with the sticks not the problems that the stick has.
if you want to back out thats fine, but keep in mind that i knew you were’nt goin to be 100 prcent on the jap sticks thats why i agreed to play you on the american sticks as well, to balance it out.
are you “oficially” withdrawing your “challenge”
also now that i am reminded what ever happned to this rematch between me and Tao?? do you still want one?
yeah man i do
but i gave the jap stick to navid for him to practice on
and i also have no DC
and i kinda also wanna stop playing video games for a while
i think maz that right now, you should challenge some of the other players and when you have gotten better and i have also played some more 3s matches that we’ll have another rematch.
and i played at the JZ controllers. and they kinda suck more than the jap sticks lol. i mean wtf… second side is like… iffy
regardlesss.
navid has said to me that
ahah
I HATE YOU MIGUEL:lol:    :lame:
oh well back to square one two seats remaining…
Tao: hahaha fair enough guess ill have to beat ur ass when i get back into the country…
everyone else: i cant believe this argument is going on again… this shit is so fucking old its not even funny!! for fucks sake, don’t complain about the sticks… I can’t play for shit on JZ sticks compared to how well I play on the jap sticks on DC but whatever… I could probably OCV everyone in Marvel on the DC and I have OCV’d Tao a few times on DC, but I can’t do it at JZs but it doesn’t mean I’m going to come on here and fucking cry about it.
The best players ADAPT to their surroundings and atmosphere… the scrubs just complain about sticks.
The best thing you guys should do for a money match is meet in the middle. There are American sticks for Dreamcast, so come on, just meet in the middle, and there won’t be any problems at all…
But certainly whatever you do, don’t come on here and bitch about the sticks.
dont bitch about the sticks? easy for you to say. Dont compare my situation to yours. I have HARDLY played on japanese sticks compared to how many times Mazdak has played on American sticks. Im NOT going to go out and buy a american stick for DC just for this money match. He wants to play me, he comes to JZee’s. DC is lame. saying you are good at DC is the most retarded thing you can say. nobody cares about console… thats why the 3s tourny is going to be held at an arcade before the actual 3s tourny. good job, you are good with japanese sticks… IM NOT. thats the point. im not willing to waste my time to adapt to japanese sticks, when i know that Mazdak just wants the odds in his favour. %wise, since everyone is throwing out thier %s, i play about 30% of what i do in the arcades, on a japanese stick and on DC. From what ive seen from the videos, and from what i remember, Mazdak, if not 100%, plays at around 80-90%. odds will be greatly in his favour. if he wants to play, we go to JZee’s, otherwise, this game isnt happening. Even if you just wanna play for recognition, thats okay with me. (if you dont wanna risk money at JZee’s).
Go ahead, go OCV everyone on DC… i bet you could even OCV Justin Wong on jap sticks on DC, cause he plays on american sticks. does that mean you are better than him? NOT BY A LONG SHOT. Arcade is where its at… if you cant play on the arcades, you have no right to say you are better than anyone… its like playing D2 on singleplayer using hacks, then telling everyone on BNet you are the best D2 player in the world.
ADAPTing? hahaha… around my surroundings and atmosphere? are you listening to yourself?.. so you are telling me to adapt to Japanese sticks and DC for ONE GAME because it’ll be my SURROUNDINGS and ATMOSPHERE? … My ONLY Surroundings and Atmosphere is JZee’s and the competition at JZee’s. dont expect me to go out of my way to do something i know i cant handel. i cant learn to play on Japsticks, so i wont… trust me. ive tried.
You can take it as bitching about the sticks… in reality, all im doing is stating the facts. Jap sticks suck. When the only stick you have used all your life, since World Champion days, is the good 'ol American Stick, and have had experience on jap sticks like, 6 times your whole life (the number is going up since i borrowed the stick from tao), you kinda know if you can use it or not… i know i cant, and im not ever going to try.
If you cant play at JZee’s as well as you play on DC, well… thats more important than being good at Jzee’s and not being able to play on DC… because when it comes down to it, the ARCADE is where being good, reallly counts.
Everyone is ranting and raving about how Consoles are going to be the way of the future, well, looking at Japan, the future tells me that you guys are wrong… VERY wrong. all of thier tournaments are still arcade based. I look to them for the future cause thats what they are… we get all of our games from them, anyways.
So yeah. Dont expect me to even try to adapt to Japanese sticks, unless i move to Japan or something. cause until im forced to “Adapt to my surroundings and atmosphere”, i suggest you guys do it.
frankie says rellaaaaaxxx…
I’ve asked Saige to make me an American PS2 stick and hopefully I’ll be able to get it by the next Lanwerx tourney on the 24th… If I get it by then and the PS2 version of 3S (apparently arcade perfect…i dunno i don’t play the game) gets released end of July like planned, I’ll let you use the american stick Navid, and I already have a Jap ASCII stick if Mazdak wants to use that… but seriously 5 bucks? This is so worth $20.00 +
I would like to get a stick made by that Tony dude, but he still has yet to respond to me as to when I can give him my PS1 Dualshock PCB… aiyah, and the fact that he’s never wired a stick using a ps1 pcb is kind of discouraging… my xbox and cvs2 eo and subscription to Live are collecting dust b/c i have no stick that works with my adapter…
oh yeah, consoles are the future, the arcade scence in japan actually makes money… as opposed to ghetto B.C. where all the arcades look welfare and have welfare cabinets…
y’all are so bitter.
oh, and before i forget…
Im sure Miguel will give me respect for this one!
something i whipped together, just for my last post

VEGETA is top-tier.
first of all, that vegeta picture is pure money.
second of all read this:
objective point of view.
subjective point of view.
you just lost the argument.
If you’re half as good as you say you are, you would try to play on them or find an alternate solution so he can play on the jap stick and you can use the american stick.
Koost: the sticks are being made so don’t worry.
Alvin: The sticks are being made for you as well.
See Archer, sticks are being made for people on DC and they’re american sticks (and they’re better than the JZ sticks) so why don’t you just borrow one from them and have the money match then instead of complaining about what you can’t do.
And no, I can’t beat Justin Wong… he would probably beat me on the controller too hahah
err, yeah, im willing to play on American sticks. im not willing to play on the japanese sticks tho… he can use jap if he wants, just as long as im with comfortable american sticks, ill be fine.
woah woah, my stick is for dc?
I asked specifically for one with an official ps1 dualshock pcb in it, otherwise i have no use for it… hopefully this is just a miscommunication or something…
MARVEEEEEEELLLLLLLLL
@3-5 JZ today
I’ll be there…someone please show up, ponti? allan? PATRICK! curry king! jae…someone
Yea like Kyle said at least try to be a little open-minded when it comes to things cuz u stating that arcade is the future is just pure propaganda u know. Granted for fighting games sure the arcade is where to be but if arcades are still so IN as you say then why port them for ps2 and xbox like they’re doing now? Cuz fighting games aren’t the only games out there, it’s one genre, the genre that u guyz chose to excel at. So I guess because this is a fighting game community then y’all would be a little biased in your posts but why do u have to sound so angry when u’re typing? lol
Constructive criticism Navid!
I can take y’all in Unreal Tournament and RedTide can take u in WarCraft3 because we bomb with mouse and keyboard!!!
“then why port them for ps2 and xbox like they’re doing now?”
so companies can make money… you know, that small thing called a “good business move”… they see its making a bunch of money in the arcades, so they know itll make a bunch of money on console… hell, im gunna buy it for Xbox live, but that doesnt mean im not gunna go to JZee’s anymore… im still gunna go… Console is good for practice, but when you really wanna play, you play at the arcade.
argh
what ocv’s?? man… first few matches on a new cabinet shouldn’t count. console is considered a new cabinet argh
this is the EXACT breakdown of the two controllers
american vs japanese.
japanese sticks use that little box thing where you KNOW when you’re pressing diagonals etc. the cvs2 pro stick that you’re using navid is in an octagon formation meaning you have PERFECT directional control. so what are the advantages? you have perfect circular motions in half circles and quarter circles.
american sticks are usually a full circle around. you might be able to hear clicks but the perfect 360’s don’t. it means you have to have more of a “feel” of your controller. you gotta know when you’re blocking high or low. advantages? none really. this means if you screw in your joystick slightly off, your directions get fucked up.
however, due to the perfect circular design, you getta spin the controllers around MUCH faster. it’s great when using mvc2 zangief or ryu in denjin super. other than those mentioned, it’s not that great.
the buttons… japanese buttons, the convex ones are BETTER than american buttons. concave buttons hurt your fingers and are less responsive. however, the japanese button placement is perfectly suited to your fingers. and that brings up a problem when playing marvel cuz when you wavedash, your thumb ends up pressing the LK button which means you don’t dash under them which means you might get hit. but if you’re not playing marvel, the buttons and placement are much more natural to for your fingers.
finally, the joystick itself. this is what actually makes the japanese stick shitty feel shitty to american stick users. the joystick will not bring itself back to neutral quickly. it’s a pretty weak ass stick and in third strike, the quicklier it goes back to neutral, the better. because you need to parry. and in marvel, you need to wavedash like a mother fucker. furthermore, on some joysticks, the distance between up and down is slightly higher than american joysticks. which means you need to imput your commands even faster and move your hands a greater distance. result? missed high jumps.
japanese stick players will have already gotten used to the stick’s properties, but it makes adjusting more difficult for american stick users to japnese sticks as opposed to a japanese stick user to american sticks.
the only thing that is confirmed by navids posts is that he is obviolsy not getting laid.
i have no problem with postponing the match between us untill you can get your hands on a “good 'ol American Stick”
The arcade scene in Japan never died down. You’ll find an arcade on every corner in Japan.
but in North America, 2D fighters and arcade games in general are a niche market these days. many arcades aren’t even profitable anymore. This is why capcom’s CoinOp USA division shut down, and this is probably why capcom is leaning towards not making any more 2D fighters. This is why the games are being made for Xbox and PS2. theoretically, it’ll get some attention to the genre itself, aside from the people who already know the games because chances are they’re buying the game no matter what. PCBs and cabinets are expensive and risky, and there’s absolutely no guarantee that a game will collect quarters.
before people get on my case about who I am, or who do I think I am posting here, I have been following (but not really playing as much over the years because i suck  but i love the games anyway, i still play semi-casually) 2D fighters since Feb 1991, when SF2 was released (i feel like a geek for remembering the exact month and year). i do know the history of the genre, and i’m aware of what’s happening to the genre itself right now.
that’s just my crappy business view of things, though. my gamer’s view of things: arcade games are still cool and they still kick ass. otherwise, i’d have no reason at all to visit this site other than to bug Alvin.
MIKE!!:wtf:
