"3s players will like SFxT"

I like SFxT less and less every time I play it

mostly I just hate new fighting games

I bet you think Alex should try to out footsie Ken in any level of play.

 i dunno. i think in this case my abstinence from sf4 and mvc3 paid off because it’s fun I think. it’s different. 3S is untouchable, but that doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy other games. especially because i can play teams with either guys in dtown or dander and half the time it plays pretty well online.

if i was playing alone i probably wouldn’t enjoy it as much. but the attempts at teamwork and meter management as a pair is fun I think.
i think you need to play this game with a partner. because not only can you just focus on one character, but you also get someone else’s brain to help you as far as ideas and guidance.

Just wondering why people think KOF13 is the closest thing to 3s right now? I personally dont feel the games are really that similar at all. Both great games though.

it’s the same. they twist around a bit but it’s not as long and noticeable when alex does it. just look at the animation after back mp and you’ll see them turn around and quickly start to recover. i’m guessing that during that recovery they can be combo’d into command grab because the properties are still there to do so.

Because KOF13 is the closest thing we have to 3S right now. Emphasis on the ‘right now’. It’s also the closest thing we have to Super Turbo, CvS2, Vampire Savior and Garou right now - not because it’s really close to any of those things, but simply because everything else that’s big ‘right now’ feels like it’s in an entirely different dimension. (I imagine that dimension to be a lot like the one from Event Horizon.)

I’ll agree with you on your sentiments with SFxT. However, nice scrub quote in regards to KOF. Clearly you do not understand KOF footsies. Even in it’s most primordial form.

Yeah it is scrubby( my post). 13 has been frustrating me lately, mainly trying to find 2 more characters im good with…i still like it though.

YO

I HAVE PLAYED A BIT OF STREET FIGHTER X TEKKEN TODAY

FRANKLY I AM QUITE OFFENDED

I AM A STREET FIGHTER III 3RD STRIKE PLAYER (NOT REALLY THOUGH)

AND I DO NOT LIKE STREET FIGHTER X TEKKEN

Lol @ the idea that 3s players will like this. 3s players are babies who hate everything not 3s.

This guy…

The tekken characters, maybe just lili, are fun.

So… It really is SF4 with a GIGANTIC patch. Same movement system. Same blah music. Same stupid SF4 art style. This time WITH MORE NORMALS! The game still pretty much is mash reversal DP ALL DAMN DAY. Only instead of FADC, you can tag cancel. The wake-up game has somewhat returned but man… I cannot get over how sticky and slow this game feels… Like, how do you honestly go from playing (and Capcom creating) 3rd Strike to this? After the smooth gameplay of T6 and SF3 this feels like a version of a game I’d like to play but really can’t enjoy because the movement is clearly feeding to a mentally handicapped population… Welp… Back to 3rd Strike.

Most of the guys I used to train hard with in 3S agree it fits the pace and mindset most closely if not exactly the same in application (including one who was the best Makoto player on the east coast at the time and regularly gave J.Wong a run for his money).

Yeah it’s what SFIV should have been but I didn’t wait for 3 damn years of this new game crap to play what SFIV should have been. Fuck dat noise.

I was thinking about going HAM in KOF13 but once I heard Skullgirls was coming Q1 2012 I decided that’s what I wanted to go into. It fits most along the lines of a 2012 rendition of an old school Capcom game and has the 3 on 3+assist aspect that I really liked about MVC3 but without all the easy mode. It’ll be a very unique Capcom/GG style fighter for me and have that open ended offense and defense that I really like.

MVC3 really has me hooked on being able to constantly utilize and switch between 3 different characters on the fly so I’m ready.

Have you even played this game? Standard DPs are GARBAGE in this game compared to any other iterations. Trading all day.

I’m only here to say Twelve would have been a good choice for SFxT.

…There’s no such thing as a garbage DP…

What if it’s just the idea that nothing is safe that scares people away? Everytime I went to WNF I’d hear these dudes talk about one’s sf4 play like it was an indicator of how some one would do in a real fight.

“He wouldn’t know what to do in a real fight” and so on. Is that the mindset? Is it that difficult to grasp infinity?

Then again infinity is kind of scary.

tag cancelling is no replacement for FADC. You can get blown up if the move you tag cancelled with doesn’t have enough blockstun to make it safe. I done so myself whenever some dumbass thinks tag cancelling Ryu’s DP is a good idea. Speaking off switch sucks balls in this game. It trades most of the time.

Think about how to fly and you will hate your life. Just focus on walking for now.
