That’s how some people validate themselves, whatever the activity is. It doesn’t matter if SFxT is objectively the greatest fighting game ever created, these people wouldn’t be able to open their eyes and accept that it is a good game. It’s either that or nostalgia affects them more than other people. Someone in here posted “I miss vanilla sf4” and got like 10 likes, Vanilla Sf4 was ass, almost as bad as “vanilla ass edition”. Why did they get 10 likes? Probably because they miss “INDESTRUCTABLE” and the old announcer. Nostalgia is funny like that. Finally, I do like third strike, but third strike really doesn’t teach you fundamentals for any other traditional SF game. This makes a lot of 3s players think that any other fighting game isn’t technical. Rockafeller was a great example of this until nerdjosh showed him some basics about SFxT, now he loves it.

I’m not one to give a fuck about join dates either but I find it ironic that a good majority of these “game elitists” joined after SSF4 came out. I’m also not one to give a fuck about people’s skill level in games as long as it’s not affecting me at all, but these people are usually ass at every game too.

3S teaches you the best footsies you’ll ever have. If you suck at footsies in 3S you get beat consistently every round.

With 3S there is just so much depth to block strings alone that it makes other games boring. Look at corner mixups in the game and it’s incredible. The parry system just adds more to it. I’m not saying these others games are shitty. I just don’t like the play because its not as fluid.

I did pick up SFxT… It’s pretty fun, but I want to play as Steve and he just can’t get it done.

I’m not an elitist either, I say a lot of shit but reality is people don’t like 3S because they don’t have instant get out of dumb decisions card and they believe the stupid shit people like Mr. Wizard and company say. If you think it was killing a community, maybe you should ask Capcom why they were Crapcom for 8 years.

you’re entitled to your opinion but 3s actually deserves all the love it gets. shit got me into sf all over again. hyperfighter came close but i was done with sf after super came out and just played tekken and all the new shit. cvs2 is cool and all but 3s is THE shit, for real. well at least for the majority of us who still play it even after many shitty ports.

More people play SFxT plus SFxT has better netcode…even though KOF13 I feel is a better game for people who liked 3S…I just don’t blame him.

Yeah it’s like having a more balanced version of the chain system from Alpha 1 with links. Then from there it’s slow walk speeds, shitty throws (simply holding back/down back for defense is gonna be good in this game), SFIV style hit boxes that whiff at the ends of animations and huge ass stages that promote just moving back and forward with normals and not much else.
