"3s players will like SFxT"

That’s how some people validate themselves, whatever the activity is. It doesn’t matter if SFxT is objectively the greatest fighting game ever created, these people wouldn’t be able to open their eyes and accept that it is a good game. It’s either that or nostalgia affects them more than other people. Someone in here posted “I miss vanilla sf4” and got like 10 likes, Vanilla Sf4 was ass, almost as bad as “vanilla ass edition”. Why did they get 10 likes? Probably because they miss “INDESTRUCTABLE” and the old announcer. Nostalgia is funny like that. Finally, I do like third strike, but third strike really doesn’t teach you fundamentals for any other traditional SF game. This makes a lot of 3s players think that any other fighting game isn’t technical. Rockafeller was a great example of this until nerdjosh showed him some basics about SFxT, now he loves it.

I’m not one to give a fuck about join dates either but I find it ironic that a good majority of these “game elitists” joined after SSF4 came out. I’m also not one to give a fuck about people’s skill level in games as long as it’s not affecting me at all, but these people are usually ass at every game too.

I’d love to know how one would go about objectively determining the greatest fighting game ever created.

You ever hear about creating a hypothetical situation to form an analogy to easily describe something? Yeah, that was it.

While I do agree at least SFIV didn’t rape your eyes, this game is so shiny and colourful is puts Marvel to shame.

Then how do you hypothetically objectively determine the greatest fighting game ever made? You can’t criticize people for not recognizing that a game is objectively good when deciding whether a game is good is personal taste anyway.

They were talking something about art style having oil and water theme(SF4 had ink theme).
I see a lot of oil and no water :).

Combos look fun, I might pick it up when its on sale for $10 dollars or something.

Nah by the time it ends up being 10 dollars, Super Street Fighter X Ultimate Tekken will be out including costumes, 12 new characters, new stages, 3 new pre set combos, new colors, swap mode for costumes, and gems such as auto tech gems that tech for you throughout a match.

So its one of those “so bad its good” type things? that makes me happy and scared all at the same time…

Oh yea imma be runnin dat team china. Chun and Xiaoyu, i remember as a kid mashing out some.cool lookin shit with her in tekken 3

I’m trying real hard not to be baited into the “fundamentals” discussion.
It’s like people think if they just keep saying it, it will be true. Like how apparently parry just beats everything and makes everything an OS.
This place makes me feel incredibly smart most of the time.

You guys are all stupid. I’m da bess.

Hasa diga eebowai.

Gwakwa Nini Chabba?

The few people who I play with have picked it up and their main argument for me to get it is: “It has a parry system like 3s! You’ll love it!”

No thanks Capcom. The overwhelming shittyness of the game saved me $60 (which I spent on SSX  )

SFxT is actually pretty fun, I didn’t like it initially when I played it at E3 and the launch party, but it has grown on me. Give it a chance.

SFxT seems more similar to 3rd Strike than any other SF I can think of, except for EX for obvious reasons. A lot of the footsies from 3S carry over, Ken feels more like his 3S iteration, meaties are (finally) back, and a bunch of other things. I can’t see all 3S players liking it tho - for one, there’s no true parry system. Most people can get over that, but some people play 3S simply because of the parry system. I miss it, but alpha counters are pretty cool too.

I dunno, there’s plenty of reasons I can’t think of off-hand to like and dislike the game. Everyone’s going to feel differently about it no matter what SF game they love the best. There are ST players who like 3rd Strike and those 2 games are nothing alike. Simplest way to find out if you like it is to play it for yourself and not base your opinion on what everyone else is saying.

The fact that SFxT hasn’t been out for a week yet is exactly why it’s considered better than every other game out there.

That’s how the FGC works now. Apparently.

I didn’t think I would like this game as much as I do now.

I’m glad I spent the money for it. Trading in KOF, with the extra 30% off and the gamestop card made the game cost 40 dollars. Good deal considering how I didn’t have anyone to play on kof.

The future is bright with this game. At least it is for me.
