Well, you could technically go 1v1 on CvS2, but it’d be so ridiculous. The team aspect adds strategy, and it’s definitely a good selling point. It can be kinda taxing to main more than one character for the sake of a team, especially if you’re not used to it, but it can be rewarding. Even if it’s not like Tekken Tag or Marvel.
I understand why they did it; people are losing interest in the event overall and Arcadia’s been dipping real hard in terms of sales the past couple years. I’m still not happy about it though…but I’ve been unsatisfied with the fgc and almost all parties involved since SF4 came out, so w/e
speaking of CvS2, is there gonna be re-release of this eventually? Id like to try it, but I dont even have a ps2 anymore. def no access to a cab either.
anyway I like all of the top 3. my opinion might change over time, who knows. only thing I’m pretty sure on is that I will never be able to love SSF4 or any version of MvC3. I’ve tried a few times, just isn’t happening.
So is the game good? Or is it a derp fest? It looks faster paced that 4, but im not sure about spending 60 bucks on it yet even if there are some characters that im glad finally got some love.
The best outcome people can hope for regarding this game is that it’s so derpy and stupid that it becomes Japanese Hokuto no Ken status on a grander scale.
I didn’t know there was whole community/word/culture for games like that. Is describing these games as like the B-movies of fighting games accurate? Because I can completely understand that.
Exactly. Games that don’t necessarily have to be Shaq Fu or Rise of the Robots level of bad, but at least decently made games with gameplay balance being an obvious afterthought. It’s always fun to break games and find glitches. These guys break the games as hard as possible and play against each other to the best of their abilities. As a result, we see some ridiculous and hilarious matches, everyone has a good time.
I love to watch Japanese people play MvC2. They just have fun finding all this ridiculous garbage and pull out some insane stuff like 99% BB Hood/Juggz/Omega Red combo off of one simple crossup. They still play to win, it’s just they have fun while playing it because there isn’t much to lose between friends.
