Okay after some testing today with both the regular air hurricane and ex hurricane I found some interesting things.
For the ex hurricane the maximum number of hits I found for the combo is 5. So you can hit a person with 3 hit ex hurricane then do double jab srk. Or a 2 hit fierce srk or whatever. The max however is 5 hits from what I can pull off.
For the regular air hurricane kick yeah the maximum is 2 hits and connecting with the jab uppercut is purty hard. I think the s.rh after one hit air hurricane is a better option because you have a better chance to hit the person and it hurts like 30 damage off ryu while the jab srk at point blank hurts 32. It’s not that bad a trade off plus the fact that there is a much higher chance of hitting the guy it with I think it’s better.
The safest thing to do after a blocking Ken’s SA3 is to throw. That will always work no matter what. Some characters have some more damaging options. Just off the top of my head:
-Ryu: Standing fierce XX stepkick or EX stepkick. The timing is pretty tight though.
-Ken: SA3
-Hugo: 360/720
Someone with the 3S bible could probably give you a better list.
Sadly there isnt a Official 3S bible Kuni told me -very unfortunate.
The closest thing is the “All about” 3s book which i have by capcom famitsu but that book is quite dated nowadays.
They should do a proper bible for 3s though they did cvs2 and A3 why not 3S?!
U always can do mp shoryuken xx super with ken. Or shoryuken xx super with ryu. Or almost every super in the game which u can buffer while in blocked stun.
U have many better options to do after a blocked ken SA3 than a throw IMO
u can do pretty much anything after his blocked SA3. pretty much any super. pretty much any combo starting with any comboable button that’s as fast as a shoto fierce or faster. the problem is that ppl try to do the motions after the blockstun which is completely wrong. u have to do the motions right before the super finishes, and then u press the button as u can.
Just a tidbit that I haven’t seen listed. Ken’s standing roundhouse beats Chun Li’s standing fierce. She hits him if you are too close, however. How good this is a little unclear at the moment because Ken has to be in the right position and know when chun li will try to fierce. But the s. roundhouse does hit chun li’s standing fierce cleanly.
Kens most damaging ground combo with SA3 is: standing MP, MP dragin Punch cancelend into SA3, it does like 5 points more of damage than the Mp, HP, SA3 and does the same damage as Hp, mp DP SA3. The problem is that that combo is not a safe one.
I think the only video that has ken in it that you should watch is the 5vs5 japan tourney video. It has most of what people who use ken should do in a match

Concerning what you can do after a blocked Shippu, going directly into supers is relatively safe, i.e. immediately do Corkscrew Blow or whatever super Dudley has (if you happen to be using him) after blocking. When i’m using Ken and i block another Ken’s Shippu, i have enough time to do MP, HP -> Shippu as a counter. But what i almost always do is i red parry the final ground hit (the knee). That way, i can go for more damage: HP -> MP Shoryuken xx Shippu. Other times, i red parry after the first hit of Shippu and wait for it to finish then i punish! If you can kara Shoryuken at will, go for HP -> LP Shoryuken -> LP Shoryuken instead. Does really good damage and saves you the meter.
hi guy ! recently, i try to use ken for my main character because i was using HUGO. it seems so slow for me when vs faster characters like yun and ryu etc
however, it was a hard time for me to use ken. i am very upset every game vs makoto and urien. i look like a stipud when vs both of them. let’s say makoto, they can do lk->236lp or grab me
when i wake up from the ground. it is so difficult to defence this. makoto down mid kick keep me away becuase i can dash close to her.
On the other hand, urien his down mid kick and standing mid kick keep me away too. u know, ken cant do link+SA3 when he cant close to the opponent.
so, i want some suggestion about ken how to vs makoto and urien. i really want to …:mad:
