believe in thongboy i heard he broke vic’s 40 something streak
Feels to me like it does. But it also feels to me like his dash covers more ground than the other shotos, so the animation seems to take longer, so there’s a chance I’m insane.
Sean’s jumps have a different arc, this is easy to see on his super jump.
[quote=place in a tourney with your low tier homies, and then maybe you’ll earn an ounce of respect from decent players. there, i’ve said it.[/quote]
I agree playing with a top tier just gives you an edge with like higher priority attacks or user friendly… and playing a weaker characters is just a character that has lower priority moves or not so user friendly… so its just who is the better player…
I don’t play as much 3s as I use to when I was out in Austin but Ive played top players all the time… my main tourny fighter is hugo… why because I believe in him and thats who i feel comfortable with, with 3s’s fighting system… I know all his tricks and how to fight every character in the game… I placed 3rd place in a tx showdown with hsien and j.choi on top of me and all i fought through the tournies were chun’s, ken,s couple of uriens here. I placed 4th in the rest of the tournies here with hugo no other character… so yea low tiers can place in tournies hehe :encore:
paulee!!! <3
Franchise!!! <3
croyd!!! <3
Forgot the rest of the quote. :karate: His pokes don’t have bad damage themselves, just more like you can’t do much afterwards.
And yes, SA1 is godlike.
no thanks
5stazzle, emphy, paulee, akumar, croyd… this thread is sick!!! <3
i have yet to see thongboy match vids…
Alex may not be a character worthy of Top or even High-Mid status, but he’s certainly not the lowest of the middle. his mp’s (cr. and fwd.) are great pokes his wide array of specials make him a capable fighter against everyone in the game. EX stomp annihalates any character who does a random stupid hadouken and his slash elbow makes great counters against meter-builders. His wakeup game is quite good and he has great mobility. In my opinion, he is most definitely above Ibuki (one guy put him below in his chart), i’d say the same for Oro and Necro (though Necro is debatable, he is damn good in capable hands).
And come on, when Makoto gets her nickname from him, you know he’s gotta have some potential eh?
I think Alex is indeed the lowest of the true middle. He doesn’t have anything really good or threatening, his pokes are slow, his good stuff isn’t safe, and once again he’s one of the least threatening characters in 3s. Ibuki is alot better than him, scarier, trickier. Only thing alex has over ibuki is stamina. Necro is meh, and anyone is good in the right hands, tiers are made assuming equal skill levels. Oro does alot of stun, does pretty good damage, and has lots of mobility.
Chun Li is the best of the mid tiers
Ibuki tends to have trouble with people that hold back on the stick (and/or down back), alex can at least do something about that. Her ‘tricks’ are more for videos than for real play, usually after a few games people realize she’s being more annoying than damaging, and swat her back to 2i where she belongs.
Thats not true. Good Ibukis are a lot harder than any Alex. She just takes a lot of skill to use.
sa1,ex kunai and her jump mix ups give her a vertical fighting range, possibly the best in the game.
The only match anyone’s taped of me lately is when I played 5-star and Vic in the Team tourney at FFA a while ago. Raoh erased it, yell at him.
N
does one have to move to cali to know everyone? Are there any good players from VA out there? I know one.
What you mean is that she takes a lot of work to compete normally with… because SHE IS NOT THAT GOOD, and you have to work that hard just to overcome her natural disadvantages. If you do well, it doesn’t mean all her problems suddenly disappeared, it means you spent some ungodly amount of work on overcoming it, and are able to win despite her not being that good. The char sux, the player is good… understand?
You can do that with ibuki because even tho her stuff isn’t good, it’s at least different. Someone like sean is neither as good nor different from anything else, so he has nothing.
In modern super meter happy SF, fast characters need cheap damage to offset their stamina and weaker strength normally. Without hashin-sho, ibuki is more annoying than threatening IMO. You can jump cancel mixup all day but unless you can both get every one of those hits to do maximum damage AND not mess up AND not get parried, every 3rd or 4th attempt is gonna get DP’ed/parrried/supered and she’ll be behind again.
I guess u just gotta be better than your 3rd or 4th attempt
