3rd strike tier list

sean isnt that bad and i stick to that shit. why are there no good japanese seans? idk but i still tier sean above Q. He has shoto tick game or w/e good dash. c.mk xx dp i seriously dont think hes that bad. also ibuki is clearly better than remy for sure, elena idk. remy sucks alot i think, but I do tier remy above hugo. here are my tiers broken the fuck down.

Top
Chun, Ken, Yun

Just under top (higher than high mid)
Makoto, Urien

High mid
Dudley Yang Akuma Oro

Mid
Ryu Ibuki Elena Necro Alex

Low mid
Hugo, Remy

Shit
12, sean, q

Sean has a lot more mobility than Q and I think that is important.

But why play Sean when you can play Akuma or Ryu?

This is true. I can’t just of a move that projects itself more.

epsilon’s list is the one I agree with so far. The game just has too much grey area to divide characters up by specific numbers.

here’s mine

//*/ = same tier

  1. chun/ken/yun

  2. makoto/urien

  1. yang/akuma/dudley/oro/necro

3.5: ryu

  1. ibuki/elena/remy/alex/hugo

  1. 12/Q/sean

I don’t care what people say I think Q is pretty damn good… he’s just way harder to pick up… same with 12 he’s hard as hell to pick up cuz of constant air dashing… I don’t play randomness with Q… I play Q more baiting and pocking… If Q didnt have a dash punch then I would have never picked him up its one of the best specials in the game… safe, range fast, and cancel to super… with q u can bait after dash punch, watch your opponent and see what he does after a dash punch… I mean if your fighting ryu and u do a dash punch the only option he has after a dash punch is sit there or low attack cuz thats the only thing he has to reach you… to play with Q is to know all the strong and weak points of all the characters especially the ones that are used the most

I take advantage of parries and red parries… like i said if u can block really good high low, tech throws and have fast reflexes then q will benefit… Im a hugo player and i know how it feels to have somebody lock you down but all u have to do is block… its more to it but anti Q’s won’t under stand just come to tx and let us own you hehe

yea Q would so be mid tier if players worked to only land taunts before doing anything else. it makes the opponent come after him, i dont know why more players dont do this. its like having an assist that the players decide to not fully embrace.

every character in the game is quite playable, and I fully agree that a good player can win with Q.
That doesn’t make him a good character.
The ā€œafter dash punchā€ baits don’t work anymore here, they know it’s safe… if the don’t parry the dash punch (which is not unlikely) they can just wait after blocking it. What can Q do there? a poke, another dash punch (risky), try to c&db -> but it has slow startup and the can jump out of it on reaction.
I’m talking about good players of course, there are people who fall for Q’s baiting game but that’s not the point.
You talk about knowing the weak points of all characters, having good reflexes and taking advantage of the parries… yeah that’s good, but every other character can take advantage on those things too, and most of the cast does that better than Q.

Most people think that beating a low tier with a top tier is easy. This is plain wrong in most cases, if the low tier player is a good player, the top-tier player would still have to give everything he can, play careful and with all tbe possible tools. Unless he does that, tiering means nothing.
Having the advantage in a match doesn’t mean you can play dumb and still win, and playing a low tier doesn’t mean an automatic loss.
Still, Q is weak. Kuroda defeating KO’s Yun in a tournament won’t change that.

Q is trash. In order to win, the opponent has to simply be outplayed at every step. It is unrealistic to base your game around this.

Why don’t players work on getting taunts out immediately? Good Q players do not do this recklessly, because the hit tradeoff isn’t always worth it. It’s a bad strategy against most characters, anyone with experience knows this. It’s fine against meterless Chun Li, and a few others; it’s a bad idea against Ken, for example, who can easily double-DP Q at a moment’s notice. A lot of good players spend time right up in Q’s face- there’s no time to taunt.

Sean has nice basic fundamentals, for someone who’s low tier. All depends on the player. Good footsies = Good Sean player. Good footsies ALSO = (possibly) worthless Q players.

Great shoto dash, punish whiffs with cr. mk xx super, shortshort super on reaction, OKAY (but SHIT damage) pokes, basic fundamental tick throws, etc.

No one’s worse than twelve though.

MLG Frisco. Best of 3, 50 dollars per match. My Twelve vs your WHOEVER.

N

WOW, Emphy, you NEED to go… that is just like… FREE MONEY. 18 x 50 dollars… 19 x 50 if you play 12 v 12 too.

OMG, you’ve never heard of C-Royd???

apparently they’ve never heard of C-Royd, nor of PINK Sean

enough of your worthless challenges that you never live up to.

as to your earlier posts, no one plays sean because ken has sean’s entire movelist + better. there is no reason to play sean except for humilation.

and the only reason mention your name with 12, is because you are always touting yourself as the (self-proclaimed) best 12/necro/scrub. if anything, you’re just a forum whore.

place in a tourney with your low tier homies, and then maybe you’ll earn an ounce of respect from decent players. there, i’ve said it.

Ack. My feeling.

I got into a car accident and couldn’t make it to Evo. SO SOLLY CHOLLY.

I know for a fact this is an event I’ll be at, and I know I’m good. I don’t ALWAYS TOUT MYSELF as anything, except maybe an obsessive video maker. Even that isn’t exactly unfounded.

N - What the fuck is this about?

Just so you guys know

The winner of this very interesting and important debate is going to get laid by lots of hot chicks.

They dig that kind of stuff.

Paul is real cool guy, u musta really pissed him off lol.

Yeah, the big vein on his forehead looks like it’ll pop any second now

reason enough for me.

and wtf is with this ā€œwhere are all the good sean players atā€ thing? Was this guy at the last two evo’s where everyone saw me own up at Cal Poly and FFA? I’m not dissing him or anything. I’m just saying, good Sean players exist. But i only use the pink one. He does more damage.

Sean’s SA1 does shit damage? For the meter that it costs, it does amazing damage.

I was talking to Archer, and he said Sean has a floatier (slower) jump then the rest of the Shotos, is this true?
